OK, new plan. I got a very hot idea, and I'm sure everyone has no problem in joining.
Story: On a small unamed planet, the entire sky rained glowing gems across the lands and seas. Those who found these gems discovered that each gem contained a soul within, but no one knows where. In ways unknown to the outside world, a device was developed to bring the souls to life...
One century later, the world has changed much with a new breed of warrior. Warriors born to bring forth the souls of warriors and companions to survive in the rising chaos of global war. These are know as the Summoners...
There are 5 races where Summoners can be found...
Terrans: Same as humans. Any color and walk of life.
Reapers (Shadowfolk): Humanoids with coal-black skin, white hair, white eyes and gray blood. Sensitive to light, but can't be destroyed by it. Most civilizations are underground. Abilities to see in the dark except for pitch black.
Goths: Humanoids with white skin, bright-colored glowing eyes, dark hair, and green blood. NOT undead, but high pain tolerance. Tend to dehydrate easily, so they wash themselves often outside of their own civilizations, which are often waterside or in swamps. Very agile and able swimmers.
Furs: Evolved humanoid animals. Mostly bipedal with digigrade legs, but tauric species do exist. Civilizations are often camouflaged in nature. Heightened senses and slightly stronger for their size.
Wraiths: Enemies to other four races. Vaguely humanoid beings resembling incorporal ghosts, banshees, and Grim Reapers. Ruled by the Witch Queen and the Warlock Tyrant. Rulers keep from sight, leaving the war to the 13 Generals, whom are the only ones who can be Summoners. The Wraiths are on a campaign to gather all the Soul Gems for something to remake the world...
Rules: No more than 3 heroes to keep from confusing everyone. Have a reasonable number of villains.
Summoners can carry no more than 4, but they can own more (kept someplace secure)
Summoners can carry no more than 2 weapons or 2 matching pairs of weapons, or mix-and-match
Soul Gems can be ANYONE from movies, TV, books, & video games, and they don't have to be fighters, like a companion character (BUT only one soul character. No two Sonic the Hedgehogs for example)
Only 1 Soul Gem character can be summoned at a time, but they can out for any length of time. You must return a character to the Soul Gem to summon another.
Soul Gem characters return to Soul Gems when they are beaten, but they can be summoned later. Characters are permanently destroyed only when the Soul Gems are destroyed.
There is only 1 Soul Gem Char per gem. No duos (unless conjoined)
No character can have their own magic powers, but their Soul Gem partners with powers can share. Wraiths are the only exception.
Summoners CANNOT steal another Summoner's Soul Gems UNLESS the Soul Gems chooses the new Summoner. The 13 Generals and the Wraith rulers are the only exceptions.
Some Soul Gem chars start off at the lowest level, but they can get stronger just the same as the movie/TV/etc where they came from. Digimon and Pokemon, for example.
The 13 Generals are an exemption of most of the Summoner rules, as they can control just about any Soul Gem Char they could get their claws on, and they often use the most powerful ones, even good guys chars. The Generals are very powerful to command armies of wraiths, and they are masterful fighters when they seldom come face-to-face with enemies.
The rating for the adventure is PG-13. No sex, nudity, language above this. The violence could be just a little more, but not seriously graphic. Furs don't have to wear as much as the other races, as long as they have thick enough fur/feathers/etc to cover anything that must be covered.
Profiles:
Name: Full Name "Nicknames in parenthesis"
Age:
Race: If choosing Fur, note species of animal
Gender:
Occupation: Summoners OR any other occupation
Weapons/Equipment: Summoners automatically have Summon Bands, a gauntlet with a placement for a Soul Gem
Soul Gem characters: Your first 3 Soul Gem chars (put what movie/TV/etc each char came from to reduce confusion). You'll be free to get more in the story
Transport: Vehicles from movies, TV, video games are permitted. Only rule is that you can't go to outer space. Describe original ideas and any armament in detail.
Special Features: Injuries, tattooes, dye-colored hair, etc
Personality:
Anyone interested?
SIDE NOTE: Every participating RPer is entitled to one of the 13 Generals. Profiles for them are the same.
-
I might look into this one some more, seems to be a rather intruiging kind of RP indeed.
Reason I wasn't into the others, was for the fact that I'm not much of a history person, especially the first two you had mentioned in it.....
But like I said, I might be interested to join this one, but might I ask in regards to the races you have there....the goth one appeals to me the most, but what I want to know is...when you mean humanoids, what do you actually mean by that? As in....are you talking about furries sort of thing? As in, gonna use Aimee as an example here from Darwin's Soldiers....a humanoid like her sort of thing?
-
The Furs are simply furries. Goths and Reapers look just like humans, but with the different descriptions that normal humans don't have.
And don't worry about the other ideas. I too was starting to think that not many people wanted to take part in history RPs.
-
Ah okay, that makes much more sense now....might have a Goth and a Fur myself.
By the way, can one have a summoning gauntlet if they want? As in, can my Goth and my Fur have one of those each sort of thing?
Oh, and when you say bipedial....that is...two legs right? Sorry for that stupid question, but just not sure myself.
But I say that I do like the idea quiet a bit indeed ^^
-
If your char is a Summoner, the gauntlet comes automatically.
And bipedal is 2 legs, and digigrade is like the hind legs of normal animals.
-
I was meaning, can they be summoners if I wish? Cause I might have one that is a summoner while my other one being a normal character with a weapon for two XD
And thanks, wasn't sure on that meaning....
Curse you and getting me hooked on this RP now *shakes fist, a la Homer Simpson* :lol
Might have to get up at least one of the profiles soon enough too ^^
-
I've been doing some last minute tweaking to fine tune the profile requirements...
That'll explain my editing.
-
Ah okay, well, I'll throw up a profile shortly and you can see if it's good enough or not ^^
Just curious, you have an idea for a character yourself by any chance?
-
I already have my three in mind, and I'm working on one of the 13 Generals for a villain.
-
Cool, I'm getting together one of my profiles....still need a name for my character, and two more summon characters myself XD
Question, with a Fur, do we specify what animal they are?
-

Personality: Cold, heartless
-
I'm actually now curious, that whenever it gets started....what kind of order would the heroes take on the Generals? As in, would you sort that out down the track, as in, put in here which General would be up first, etc, etc?
-
Which ever one the heroes come up against first. Their numbers isn't like a level of strength between them, for they are all equally formidable. The only difference is how they think and strategize.
And it would take a while to get a General to make a personal appearance. You'll have armies to get through first, or you have a way to get to them without being detected.
-
Ah okay, that sounds like a plan indeed, but I still wonder if one can just choose if their General can make an appearance from what you say. As in, if the heroes come across an army, they continue to fight, take down the army, dwindle their numbers sort of thing and then, say, I decide that it would be my General that appears....would that be okay?
That's what I was meaning, if you had a specific way that should be done in regards to that....that's all ^^
-
If there is any reason for a General to risk revealing himself/herself, then it's enough to get one to make an appearance.
Examples include finding a powerful Soul Gem a General becomes obsessed in getting, sneaking into a General's domain without being noticed, or if somehow there is a full-scale attack by one or more of the other races against the Wraiths. There are many possibilities.
-
Ah, that's all good then....cause I already have an idea for later on down the track of course in the RP on when/how my General could very well appear.
But question too....for their own armies, what do said armies look like? Cause I was wondering in regards to if Xeron commands his army, if they would be sort of like him, but more like a Dementor from the Harry Potter movies, on how they look.
-
The strength of the armies can differ depending on the type of General. You could have organized masses of troops, or hoardes of more savage forces, or even an army of stealthy forces that hide in wait to ambush their enemies.
The only rule for Wraith's descriptions is that it has to be ghostly. Doesn't mean it can't be hit and destroyed by normal means. And it can't be zombie-like, for it would resemble more of a Goth.
-
Don't worry, my Wraiths will move rather ghostly for sure....that's something I had pretty much figured anyway....one of the reasons for having my General like a Grim Reaper ;)
Oh, also, am thinking of my 3rd and final hero too ^^
-
This RP definitely sounds interesting. I'll have to think of a good character, but I'll definitely consider joining.
-
Don't forget too LBTFan13, as Mirumoto has stated, each person is allowed one of the Generals....so pick a General for yourself if you wish too ;)
Just thought I shall remind you on that one
-
Take your time, LBTFan. We can discuss afterwards how we'll start off the story.
-
My other hero:
Name: Skorn
Age: 29
Race: Reaper
Gender: Male
Occupation: Summoner
Weapons/Equipment: Summon Band, two short swords
Soul Gem characters: Human Torch (Fantastic Four), Green Arrow (Green Arrow), Bolt (version with his powers) (Bolt)
Transport: Motorcycle (Specifically, the kind from Final Fantasy: Advent Children)
Special Features: On the left side of his chest, he has a dragon tattoo. What is also to be noted, he does not wear a shirt and wears sunglassess as well.
Personality: He has a deep sounding voice, yet, is still a kind fellow deep down inside, even though he doesn't tend to show it all that much.
I may change the transport at some point, not 100% happy with it, I mean, would work and all, just not too sure about it is all.
-
One thing I'm a bit confused about. What exactly is the deal with "armies"? Are we controlling armies and such? I'm going to have to sleep on my character, because I have a couple ideas, but I'm not sure which one to do.
-
As Generals, we can give commands to our own armies, BUT when it comes to our heroes fighting with Wraiths, they're free to anyone to rip apart... Only the Generals that remain to the players. I'm not sure if that explains it...
-
I think I understand that. As when we're fighting the army of the General, they're free to anyone as you said, but when it comes to the General himself of said character....sort of like to anyone, but not really....kinda like a boss in RP threads mainly, the heroes do take the boss on, but it's up to the player to decide how long the battle goes on for and all that....to a fairness that is....
Would that be correct Mirumoto?
-
I think that sums it up. The Generals are still a player's creation, so if the player decides that a General is to retreat, then the General retreats. It's like any other villain of all of our RPs.
-
Ah, awesome, so I hit the nail on the head that time with it, cool. Had a feeling that it was something along those lines at the very least anyway.
-
Hmm, this looks very interesting. A very neat idea for an RP. I'd like to join in, but I need some time to create characters.
-
There's no deadline to jump in, guys. The more the merrier.
-
Yeah, I agree, the more the merrier ^^
-
While we wait, I'll fill you guys in on the current setting of the world. It would be sort of a cross between post-apocalyptic and Final Fantasy.
There are large metropolis cities called "city-states" (Terran above ground; Reapers below ground or anywhere out of the sunlight; Goths waterside, onthe water, or in swamps; Furs in wilderness, often camouflaged), where usually only one race lives, and most of which forbid other races to visit. Only places where races mingle are independant from city-state laws and commonly opened solely for trade. Wraith establishments are simply fortresses, citadels, or other places of more military purpose.
The rest of the world seems ravaged by cataclysm, unsure of how it came that way. Whole cities are reduced to shells and partially buried in sand, swamp, or jungles. Many places remained untouched by civilization, such as vast deserts of extreme heat or cold and towering barren mountains.
Later on, I'll put down a description of my chars "home town" and a trade city for our story. You guys are free for your own places.
-
Still working on my heroes, but I've got a villain character made up.
Name: Meccom
Age: Unknown.
Race: Wraith
Gender: Male
Occupation: 7th General
Weapons/Equipment: Summon Band and a large black claymore.
Soul Gem characters: Beelzemon (Digimon Tamers), Riku (Kingdom Hearts, heartless armor look wielding the Souleater), and Decade (Kamen Rider Decade).
Transport: Numerous, including steeds, motorcycles, or armored vehicles. Most commonly found astride a throne within the bollows of his largest war machine.
Special Features: Wears black armor with gold lining. The shoulder pads are spiky and two jagged gold horns extend from the top of his helmet. His eyes are a disembodied red glow and wisps of a black smoke-like substance leak from the joints of his armor. (Resembles a cross between Sauron and Kamen Rider Kuuga Ultimate Form.)
Personality: Calm and collected under most circumstances, does not tolerate failure well though. Enjoys hoarding power, especially Soul Gems. He often keeps his more powerful or precious gems a secret, even from his allies. Loves machinery though he has no talent with it, instead employing or enslaving a variety of inventors to come up with war machines or torture devices. Enjoys psychological warfare more than outright battle.
That's my General for now. I left the war machine/transportation stuff ambigous so we can construct something that fits the plot or setting. Under his armor, Meccom is a smoky, ghost-like entity and his minions probably take after his appearance. (Though with less impressive armor etc etc.)
-
Goth homes like "on the water" eh? Reminds me of like in Resident Evil 5, in Chapter 3-1 when facing the tribal people....their homes were on stilts more or less, so I can imagine them rather well actually.
Also, having Wraiths in citadels are awesome....to me, citadels are rather cool looking ^^
But yeah, I can imagine the homes rather well now actually. But when you mean independent places for trades, I would imagine that those places would be....sort of large and all, with a market place for said trading area and all that sort of thing.
-
They'll be huge alright. And some of them will employ their own armies, usually paid for by wealthy "contributors" to the city's prosperity. This also means the ruling party of the cities are easily corrupt.
-
By the way, with Wraiths and the citadels or forts or whatever it is they use. Would each of the Generals have their own fort/citadel/etc etc? For example, my General in one, Drake's General in another sort of thing?
-
Yep. They each have their own and styled how they each see fit.
-
While we wait for LBTFan13 and Drake's characters, let's discuss the start of the story. MrDrake brought up an idea of a festival in a city, most likely a trade city, and that sounds like a good one to me. What's the starting plot again, MrDrake?
-
Ah, well, what I had in mind was, as you said what I said to you....was a fesitval where all characters could possibly arrive in said city to enjoy the fesival in question, and that way, would be a good way for the characters to then meet up one way or another in the process and that way, the plot can get started sort of thing.
As for what kind of festival, I'm not sure on what it could actually be about, but perhaps, a day where there have been no Wraith attacks sort of thing, or something along those lines.
-
Festival could simply be thrown by some wealthy guy wanting to flaunt his wealth. With that plot, my Goth char would probably be the only one to make an appearance there. My Fur char never leaves his hometown, and the Terran char would be off doing something else. Kenshi and Tai barely ever travel together, even though they don't hate each other.
Don't you have a char that's a thief? You could have that char working to steal something in town.
-
Yup, that's exactly what I was thinking. My Goth character, who's the thief, would be there while the festival's going on, just so that she can steal a few things sort of thing. My Reaper character would be there for the look of the festival....which is what I'm going with that he could possibly see Zoe stealing and try and stop her or something along those lines.
As for my Fur character, not sure on what she could do, but she could also be there, perhaps for the festives herself, or something along those lines.
-
Okay, I've got the rest of my characters.
Name: Kyle Verona
Age: 15
Race: Terran
Gender: Male
Occupation: Summoner/Musician/Street Performer
Weapons/Equipment: Summon Band, guitar
Soul Gem characters: Stitch (Lilo & Stitch), Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas), Shoutmon (Digimon Xros Wars)
Transport: None, mostly hitchhikes or walks from place to place.
Special Features: Light blonde hair (may or may not be natural), bright red shirt and bright blue jeans. Wears a pair of sunglasses.
Personality: A naive dreamer and hopelessly upbeat person.
Name: Ellen "Tipsy" Kallah
Age: 27
Race: Fur (Honey Badger/Ratel)
Gender: Female
Occupation: Relunctant Musician/Performer, other odd jobs, including mercenary.
Weapons/Equipment: A pair of short swords. A tambourine.
Soul Gem characters: N/A
Transport: None, same as Kyle
Special Features: Black fur covers the front of her body while a broad white stripe covers her back. Small round ears and a blunt snout.
Personality: Reckless and aggressive. She has a soft spot for Kyle, but treats most people with ridicule, attitude, or grudging acceptance if they can earn it.
Name: Ciax
Age: 20
Race: Reaper
Gender: Male
Occupation: Summoner/Outlaw
Weapons/Equipment: Summon Band and a pistol.
Soul Gem characters: Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender), Dinobot (Beast Wars), and Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog).
Transport: Will start out with a stolen motorcycle, but he has trouble hanging onto transportation.
Special Features: Small scar over right eye, eye is milky and he cannot see out of it. A longer scar covers his left cheek. Scar marks cover his back.
Personality: Cold and cruel, believes only in survival of the fittest and ignores authority at every turn.
While I'm posting, what's the technology level for this setting? I see we have guns and gas propelled vehicles, but there are also castles and stuff. Is this like a mix and match of stuff? Are the cities and trade posts modern looking or more medieval?
-
It can be from the Roman-like era, medieval, Renaissance, colonial, wild west, the world wars, modern, or futuristic. Because of what happened a century ago, the world began to model itself into patches of the other worlds where the Soul Gems came from. The only magic in this world comes from the Soul Gem characters you guys got and from the Wraiths, 13 Generals and the rulers.
Good chars, by the way, Drake.
-
So....I am now guessing it can be a complete mixture of each of what you had noted down? Cause Old West sounds awesome to me for sure, and so does Futuristic as well.....defiently would like to combine those two myself
-
Anyway, my idea for the theme for this trade city we're starting in would have an overall Renaissance theme, in structures (very tall compared to RL), clothing, guards and their weapons. The exceptions for this include WW2 era Flak cannons lining the city's perimeter and technology similar to SteamPunk.
The location of this city is along a patch of flat coastline nestled against a mountain range, with few dangerous paths to flat desert. But because the city is still growing, the tallest structures remained on land while the rest was built over the water (think Venice, ie).
-
Ah, SteamPunk technology, like from that terrible game Damnation. I do know what you mean by that sort of technology. But yes, I do see what kind of city you're now talking about, which I think, will work out wonders for an opening setting at the very least.
Do you have an idea of what kind of festival it could be that could be held at the city by any chance? Cause I'm still not entirely sure on it myself.
-
It'll most likely be some annual party held by a very wealthy politician trying to work over the common people for some political goal. The only significance for our story, and for your chars, that some of his treasures, maybe even Soul Gems (he's not a Summoner, but he believes in some sort of value of them anyway), that'll be easy pickings for thieves of all kinds.
-
Ah okay, well, I'm sure that once the RP starts up, I'll be able to figure out something for my characters to do once within the town. Granted, still am trying to decide on a good reason for my Fur character to arrive there. My Goth character would be there of course, for the treasures, whilst my Reaper character would be there for the festival itself.
-
Can I use characters from Darwin's Soldiers or Twilight Valley for Soul Gem characters?
-
I would probably have to say no. I draw the line for books, keeping to published works. No fan-created characters whatsoever.
-
I would probably have to say no. I draw the line for books, keeping to published works. No fan-created characters whatsoever.
To be nitpicky, Darwin's Soldiers characters are not really "fan-created".
I have not decided if I want to join yet, though.
-
We'll put the Darwin's Soldiers thing to a vote.
Also, how about we start the RP Friday? If you guys don't mind waiting for me late at night. Everyone is welcome to join any time after.
-
I vote no because I think you should stick with the formula of using canon characters.
Kyle and Ellen will definitely be at the festival. Kyle to put on a show and Ellen because she got dragged along. If Ciax is there, it'll probably be to make trouble in some way.
-
I quiet frankly, don't well, care if we use such characters or not. So if others wish to, then I'm not worried, same if they don't, wont bother me in the slightest.
As for starting it up, can it wait till after the weekend? Only reason is cause I wont be able to get online in the weekend, gotta head out of town for something is all.
I mean, if you do start it up on the Friday, I wont be able to even start in it till Monday NZ Time is all.
-
Alrighty then! We'll wait til after.
-
Awesome, sorry about that small inconvience in regards to that ^^
-
The game is on...
-
This sounds like interesting RP.
I have one question: what kind of powers can Generals use? Can they have a compelling voice or can they change their form to trick others into listening them?
-
If you mean that they could transform or have an enthralling voice, then it should be OK, but not for disguises. They have to keep a 'ghostly' form, like the rest of the Wraiths.
-
Well... I am asking this, because I thought of making a character of General whos task would be creating religion in which Wraiths wouldn't be a threat but saviours of this planet. Also, his army could be composed of all five races and not just Wraiths. Could I make such a character?
-
I think the kind of person you're talking about is an evangelist (correct me if I'm wrong). If you could be able to control the minds of the other races into a smaller group of his vast army, and use them for more stealthy work, then I guess it would work. But while the Wraith rulers still live, there will always be a fresh supply of Wraith armies. I would find it rather strange for anybody to willingly lay down their lives and their fates to the Wraiths, and there won't be any Summoners among those ranks. To the Wraiths, a useful Summoner is a dead one.
-
Name: Willow
Age: 28
Race: Fur (Gray hare)
Gender: Femele
Occupation: Warrior
Weapons/Equipment: Crossbow and two long daggers. She also wears Summon Band, although she doesn't have any Soul Gems at the moment.
Soul Gem characters: None
Transport: None
Special Features: scar on the left side of her body. Sometimes, this scar causes her a pain.
Personality: There is one thing you should know about her history: she was Summoner once and she had one single Soul Gem, the Soul of which she considered to be her best friend. Willow traveled around the world, willing to know other races and see some amazing places. After several years of that journey she was attacked by group of Wraiths. She fought as best as she could, alongside with the soul from her Soul Gem, but they were eventually defeated. One of Wraiths took away Willow's Soul Gem and then he destroyed, as he claimed that this Soul was too weak to be of any use to him. He let Willow live though, because "killing pathetic worm like yourself would be a great dishonor to the General of Wraiths. Go then, Worm. Live... and suffer over the destruction of your 'precious' Soul Gem." She was heart-broken by this event, but she promised herself, that she will train hard to be able to kill that General when she'll find him someday.
Willow is still wearing Summon Band as the reminder of her lost friend and her oath. She occasionally shows some bitterness around other Summoners.
This is my first character for this RP. I will write the character of the General later. ;)
-
Regarding the gems being offered right now, I'd rather have Kyle use the ones he was right now for a bit before he gets a new one. While I've dredged the subject up, will Soul Gems reject someone they've chosen or decide to choose a bearer they'd previously rejected based on a change in that bearer?
Also just how aware are the Summon Souls? Do they remember everything of their past lives? Are they basically the exact same character as the one they're based on?
And one last thing, do the colors of the Gems reflect the Soul contained within. Example Stitch's gem would be blue, Agumon's yellow, etc. etc?
-
What's going is simply seeing if anything happens after Kyle and Skorn are given the Soul Gems. If no one is interested in another Soul Gem partner, then nothing happens, and Tai gets them back.
A partner stays with the Summoner simply until the Summoner's death, then if they know of another potential Summoner, they'll choose them. It'll later explain the story of why the aristocrat really got his collection of Soul Gems.
The Soul Gem characters are aware of where they came from, and they retain their personalities, habits, and quirks. They just don't know why they came into Soul Gems. Any characters under Wraith control are unwitting puppets, hence finding good guys among them...
And the color can be anything you like, only the shapes have to consistent, like egg-shape or something like that.
-
A partner stays with the Summoner simply until the Summoner's death, then if they know of another potential Summoner, they'll choose them.
Maybe I should change Ciax's starting set of Soul Gems to more appropriate partners for him then.
-
I take it that with this fourth Soul Gem, if we do decide to have one of them, the character inside reveals themselves, yet, we have to have the Soul Gem put away somewhere safe? Since there's that rule for having only 3 Soul Gems on one character at once.
-
The rules say that you can't carry more than four Soul Gems, and I should've stated of your own. If you find others that don't choose you, you can hang on to them until you find a Summoner that could use them, or a safe place for them to keep until a Summoner arrives. That's a basic side job for Tai and Kenshi, for they seek out Soul Gems and take them to Baldor's home into a vault to hold onto, until a Summoner stops by.
And you don't exactly know what new partner you got until you first Summon them.
-
Ah okay, I thought that it was only three one could carry at once. But ah well, it's all good....I do have a rough idea on what character Skorn could have, but of course, he wont know ;)
-
I just put the profile with 3 starting partners instead of 4 because I thought it would keep us from fighting over characters, and if someone hadn't thought of a partner before then.
I got a list of potential new partners for each of my Summoners... :D
-
Hehe awesome. I already have the partner for Skorn sorted out...since I'm taking the chance as it XD
And if Luna gets the chance to have another one, I might take that chance too in order to give a 4th character as well ;)
-
Could you give us a more detailed history of this world and five races, Mirumoto? You know... Something that would help us build the history of our own characters and fit them in this world. ;)
For example: where the first Wraiths (or their rulers) came from? Or have they existen since the begining? How civilizations of different level of technological development can live next to each other? Are there some conflicts between races (excluding Wraiths vs. all others)? Is there a science which tries to study nature of Soul Gems?
-
For the origins of the Wraiths, I kept that out on purpose. That and about how the other races came to be before the fall of the Soul Gems. Because of this, some civilizations died and others are reborn with techonologies supposedly because of the Soul Gems.
There are plenty of conflicts between the other four races, whether its political, survival, greed, or some form of persecution. But it doesn't have to be just one race against another. Some civilizations hold some sort of coexistance of races to fend off an enemy of multiple races, for example. But in general, Summoners try to keep a neutral stance, their main enemies being the Wraiths, but rarely they could end up in a situation where they'll have to slay even their own kind.
Research on the Soul Gems have been done by those devoted to find out their secrets, but currently there's no working advanced technology to help. My non-Summoner character, Baldor, for example, is a third-generation researcher, using logs from interviews with Soul Gem characters and astrology for possible clues.
-
Name: Alexandra Blake
Age: 44
Race: Terran
Gender: Female
Occupation: Businesswoman/Summoner
Weapons/Equipment: Summon Band, pair of pistols
Soul Gem characters: Mewtwo (Pokemon)
Transport: none
Special Features: none
Personality and history: Alexandra comes from a rich Terran family, which founded Hermes Corporation, one of the biggest trade corporations in modern-era Terran cities. The people behind Hermes (Alexandra holds 51% shares of stocks) are interested in gaining a monopoly on trade in this world and they are willing to use more or less moral/legal means to achieve this goal. Hermes Corporation also spends a lot of money on research of new technologies and studies of Soul Gems.
As for Alexandra Blake, she is usually calm and collected and rarely loose her self-control. She likes to employ outside people to do the kind of work that cannot be done by official Hermes workers (like stealing, assassination and so on). She never does that directly though, but rather through various agents of Hermes.
So here is my second character. While creating her I was thinking, that we need someone who can give our other characters some job to do when Wraith's Generals are not around. ;)
-
Almost forgot. For any characters of anything that can't communicate with humans in the movies, that language boundry is gone here. For example, in movies like Balto and Bolt, where the animals can't actually speak with people, here they can speak with the Summoners.
-
An idea to help keep the story going. Soon, the diplomat I was talking of with his collection of Soul Gems finds out that Summoners are in town, and starts targeting one to get their Soul Gem. First, as soon as I get Tai on the move again, he's soon to reach an inn, where other Summoners can rest, and one Summoner will be attacked during the night. Any volunteers? If not, then it'll be Tai that will be attacked.
-
Nah, have Skorn be attacked by however many....he should be able to hold out long enough for the others to come and help him out XD
I'll also probabally have Zoe soon, run into one of the other characters....you know, the tactic theifs can use, literatly run into someone, and in the process, take something of theirs....thinking maybe one of the other Summoners, as in, take a Summon Band.
As for moving the plot along too, I take it that Tai could ask the others if they wish to join him in whatever adventure he has got planned? Cause Skorn would probally join in, you know, to watch out for the others, sort of like a protector in a manner of speaking. But then, someone would have to convince Luna to join too, as she is feeling a bit, I suppose you could say, untrustworthy of the others at the moment.....but she wont be as bad as Zoe will be.....she would have the worst trust issues amongst my three characters
Also....I'll reply tomorrow, a bit too tired to think of a good enough reply in the RP that is.
-
I was thinking of contacting Alexandra with Zoe. She could then try to hire Zoe to steal from local politician some of these seven Soul Gems for her. What do you think?
-
Yeah, I'll go with that, works out rather well that does....I could have Zoe practically run into Alexandra, or something along those lines to get it going.
Well, either have her do that, or I might have Zoe slip off into an alleyway or something, and perhaps Alexandra could notice it and follow Zoe sort of thing.
-
For Tai's next part, his plans is mainly to get back home, but he'll stay the night at the inn I mentioned, but he'll then discover something that will lead him to the seven Soul Gems, and he'll not be the only one to discover about the Gems, if you know what I mean...
Another thing, Summon Bands don't come off, even if you chop off the entire arm to try and get the thing off.
-
Why not? And where exactly on our arms we are weaing this Summon Bands?
-
I'm trying to work the kinks as to how and when the Summoners get their Bands. And all Summon Bands are like gauntlets, worn on the forearm, mostly on the arm less used for weapons.
-
Just trying to think of a good way to get Luna more involved with everyone else, as she still has some trust issues with others and all that. I mean of course, only one who knows about her so far, has been Willow, so really, I guess unless she goes to find Luna again....before Luna decides to vanish into the crowds and all that sort of stuff XD
-
So... should Willow go and look for her right now or after talk with Skorn? :D
-
It's up to her really if she wants to go get Luna now, or wait. I mean, if she goes now, she might be able to catch Luna more easily, but if she waits, she might have some trouble finding her once again. ;)

As I mentioned OCC, I was going to list different types of Wraiths other than the Generals and up. They'll be in names and descriptions:
Ravers = Flying Wraiths, commonly resembling cloaked vultures with 2 pairs of eyes. Cannot use weapons.
Sentries = Army units, commonly autonomous suits of armor with nothing inside.
Dark Ryders = Skeletal Wraiths capable of riding Wraith-version animals or ground vehicles. Both vehicle and Ryder are destroyed if either is destroyed.
Nightmares = Wraith versions of horses. Used by Ryders and/or Generals.
Dread Drakes = Wraith versions of dragons of any type. Used by Ryders and/or Generals.
Creepers = Thief Wraiths. Able to move like insects or spiders, sometime having such features on human-like bodies.
Shadows = Assassin Wraiths. Typically living black silhouettes. Can hide in any shadows and take shapes of potential victims' shadows.
Cloakers = Reaper-like swordsmen (like the Ring Wraiths of LOTR) that can glide like falling bed sheets. Often referred as the elite fighters of Wraiths. Any sword can be used.
Faceless = Wraiths with naturally white bodies, black tattered robes, and no face. They have the ability to implant the face of a victim on its own head, and then take on the voice, personality, features, and clothing of the victim.
Grapplers = Large hooded Wraiths with heavily muscled arms used for ripping victims apart.
Slashers = Same size and look as the Phantom Grapplers, but with large claw-like arms and elongated nails
Rakers = Slightly smaller version of the Slasher
This is what I've thought of so far. Anyone's free to input their ideas of new Wraiths. Just none that could Summon or use magic.
-
When you say, in regards to Dark Ryders, that both are killed if either is killed/destroyed....which is kinda strange. I mean, for example, a Nightmare, if that is killed, wouldn't make sense for the Dark Ryder to just....die like that and vice versa, if the Dark Ryder is killed, the Nightmare shouldn't just die for no reason at all.
Just something I had to pick at which did not make any sense at all to me.....
I too, also might have an idea or two for other Wraith creatures too, but not too sure at the moment....well, sort of, one that has just come to me is a maybe, a Troll-like Wraith you know, like in Resident Evil 4, an El Giante was a version of the Gandos....but in a Troll creature, same with the Ndesu in Resident Evil 5 ;)
-
In the case of the Dark Ryders, if their rides were destroyed, then it's hard to really call them Ryders after the fact. And if the Ryders themselves are destroyed, then it would be too easy for their rides of any kind to be used by non-Wraiths.
I need to look up Resident Evil to look at these things better.
-
Thinking about the ideas you got, MrDrake, I think there can be something that could be based off of the Resident Evil monsters. We need to keep them as "ghostly" and "ghastly" as possible. We could make the idea of a Grim Reaper the large size of the Resident Evil trolls, but only their giant arms can be visible underneath. We could also make the same size and Grim Reaper look, but with giant slashing claws like the Tyrants. These creatures both would be called Phantom Grapplers and Phantom Slashers. What do you think MrDrake?
-
Those ones could work out well I think. Would be a good way in portraying them to fit in with what the Wraiths are and all that. I mean, the Phantom Slashers seem to be like ones you wouldn't want to take on in hand to hand combat....or with a sword for that matter, they sound like they could indeed, move fast and slash fast as it is.
-
I would imagine it would be like that anyway as seen in my recent post, that characters from the same universe would know each other, as in, Iron Man and the Human Torch knowing each other from the Marvel universe sort of thing.
Just something I thought I should mention anyway ;)
-
That works just fine. It's not like they lose their memories of anyone. If they knew someone from their universe, they'll know them in the Summoner world.
-
Yeah, makes sense that way, so it's good that Tony Stark and Johnny Storm know each other then, even though different Summoners who own them anyway :p
And I haven't forgotten the othe Soul Gem that Skorn has, the one that Tai had given him ;)
By the way....are Wraiths gonna be attacking soon by any chance? Or not yet?
-
It's not a full on attack on the city. The majority of Wraiths are moving through the sewers underneath the city, but there are already a few inside...
Is it night already in Tedisian?
-
Ah okay, then looks like some might be able to have a fight with the Wraiths after all.....wonder if a Phantom Slasher will show up or not XD
As for it being night time, I actually got a little lost with that as it is, but for all purposes and what have you, let's say that the sun is setting, you know, half right and all that
-
In regards to the Phantom Slashers, having them the size of a Phantom Grappler, which is the size of a troll by the sounds of it, seems to be a bit of a stretch to me.
I would say that a Phantom Slasher would be better suited for the size of a human being, like a Garrador (http://residentevil.wikia.com/Garrador). That's what I was thinking of, especially with the size of the claws that it could possibly weild....but of course, keeping it more "ghastly" and "ghostly" as possible.
Perhaps having said creature more cloaked than anything else, but yet, keep the size of the claws....well, maybe trim them a bit....but yet, are still just as dangerous.
Just an idea on those creatures I was thinking of.
What do you think of that idea Mirumoto?
-
Actually, I was thinking of it more like the size of a Tyrant, but I'll make it smaller anyway.
-
Well, that's how I had pictured one of those, not too big you know, probabally just taller than a human being. As if I recall correctly while playing Resident Evil 4, a Garrador was only probabally between half a head to a head taller than Leon was.
Might I also add in that I actually don't have any clue on how big a Tyrant is suppose to be, never played any Resident Evil game till number 4 myself, which is why I spoke about the Garradors.
Besides, a Phantom Grabber would be the best thing to have only as a bulk of the Wraiths sort of thing, bringing them in only when need be....sort of like ina stragety game where you can have big units like trolls or the likes, but only very few of them out at a time sort of thing.
-
For Resident Evil, I have the books based off the games up to Code: Veronica. I think the typical Tyrant measures around 7 to 8 feet. They're pretty tall.
And I wouldn't expect a Grappler to be involved in a "covert" operation like what's going on now. You'd probably find them as members of a standing army, used like war beasts.
-
Ah okay, didn't know about that for their size. That does seem to be for a good height as it is....kinda like a few more feet, at least another two or so feet taller than what Skorn is.....could work out.
I suppose with the Slashers, there could perhaps be two variants of them? You know, ones that are as tall and ruthless as Tyrants, while some could be like Garradors, blind with longer claws that use their senses to rush at their enemies, swinging their claws in the process sort of thing.
-
How about rename the Garrador-like Wraiths to something like "Rakers"?
And we can just remove the Phantom part from the Grappler and Slasher.
-
Yeah, that could work out a bit better actually. And yeah, we could use the term Raker for now....unless we can of course think of something of a better name for them at the moment.
Cause really, a Raker doesn't exactly strike terror unlike the other ones....to me anyway XD But a Raker is the best I too can think of
-
After some serious thought over it, I'm going to give the green light on using Darwin's Soldiers characters as Summon Souls. Even though I'm personally under debate about it, there's nothing illegal in using them.
-
After some thought, I'm thinking of upping the numbers of chars to make, like 3 Summoners and unlimited non-Summoners.
Anything to add?
-
Maybe it would be good to determine what are we going to do next in RP...
-
I know with my characters, they're going back to their hometown to store the extra Summon Gems they got, but I'm not quite sure as to what next for them. I am bringing in my General to seek out what the Wraiths call "vaults", where a large collection of Summon Gems are kept, like one in my hometown and what your char with the corporation might have.
-
Okay. Any idea what Willow and Kensai will find in these dungoens?
-
I don't know. The story sounded like there was something left in the aqueducts. I thought you or MrDrake had something in mind.
-
Let's have something big and gruesome waiting from inside the sewers.
-
Alright. :)
-
I edited my last post to add some action.
