Title: B-movies: Cinema's Comedy of Errors.
Post by: WeirdRaptor on August 08, 2006, 05:14:42 PM
Anyone here watch B-movies?

In general, I'm not 'too' into these (althought they are entertaining, if nothing else), but there are a few that I just love. The "Evil Dead" series being prime example (so bad they were good). I also quite enjoyed those live-action "Dungeons and Dragons" films, despite the countless things that would turn some people off (I wasn't expecting anything more than mindless entertainment, and that's what I got).

Anyone else got a B-movie that they're into? Come on, admit it, we all have, at least, one.  :D

To anyone who is unfamiliar with B-movies, Wikipedia has a nice article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-movies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B-movies)

Neither do I, actually. It can't be "Alien", because that's not hailed as a B-movie.

Dugoens and Dragons appealed to the 'nerds with no life' set. I personally couldn't care if Freckles in scuence is a 25th level wizard :P:

I watch those cheesy ripoffs on the Sci Fi channel when I've got nothing better to do.

What's a b-movie?! Try to understand not all of us have the same denominations for each type of film =x

From your replies I'm going to guess science fiction right? I'm a big fan of the trilogy Back to the future, I know this is more of a comedy but hey.. =p
Movies aside, the onlt sci-fi thing I really watch and love to watch is Stargate, SG-1 and Atlantis, I've just heard they're going to cancel season 11, how are they going to defeat the Ori in only one season? That Merlin's weapon must be great (It's pretty wild to transform the holly grail into a highly advanced alien device capable of destroying ascended beings, and just when I was thinking of becoming a budist... oh well :D)

B-movies are basically low-budget films with a huge cheese-factor ('cheesy').

If you watch the series "Mystery Science Theater 3000" you've probably seen a  few of these.
