hey everybody. got some bad news. I had a dog of mine died. he was the puppie of another one of my dogs. I named him Bron after LF's Father and after his uncle Browny who also died (though he died of pancriatic cancer poisoning), as well he was named after the meaning of strength (brawn).
anyways. Bron was a good dog. he was playful, friendly. and was a great guard dog as well.
figured I'd tell you guys sence, I consider most of the members on GOF my friends as well.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a pet is never easy :cry.
-
A terrible time indeed. Such a loss is always hard on everyone and is never easy.
-
I've lost a pet after knowing them only a few months and despite what some might think, it's still really hard on you. I would have never imagined how hard it could be if it had never happened to me. I hope you're doing all right and I'm sorry for your loss.
-
Aw I'm sorry for you! :( Losing a dog is never nice, no matter how young or old they are..
-
I'm so sorry, TITANOSAUR! :( I've owned and lost a lot of pets, so I know too well what it's like. :cry

Hello:
I also know how it feels, it feels bad indeed, but soon you will recover from this. Try to remember all the good times you had with your dog and that indeed is in a far better place.
-
I think we can all feel for you as we've all lost a pet that was dear to us. I can't say much more than the others beside that you'll always have the memories of him. I'm sure he was a sweet puppy~ But keep those memories fond and time will slowly help <3

Hey everybody. I got more sad news. another one of our puppies died. and two more are sick.
Turns out. its a virus called CPV or Canine Parvovirus and its deadly to puppies. Basicly, it causes the dog to loose its appetite, vomit perfusely and gives them diarea.
the two that have it now, they look like they won't survive the weekend. only one puppie so far has not gotten it. we got her vaccenated earlier this morning. if she hasn't gotten it yet. theres a small chance she won't get it at all. its a small chance. but I can only hope for the best that she doesn't get it. and the other two gets better.

Did the dogs eat something they weren't supposed to? My dog accidently ate catfood, and she got very sick. Did yours get into cat food or something with magnesium in it? Dogs can't ingest anything with magnesium in it.
-
no, they got dogfood only. we can't figure it out. its defenantly CPV thats for certain.
-
Hello:
I know about that sickness as well, so I do also hope your puppies will be able to survive it somehow. Just don't lose faith.
-
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your puppy Titanosaur. To die so young is horribly tragic. My condolences to you mate :cry

good news guys. Rhyse and Prince (the two last puppies that are sick) have finaly gotten better. Rhyse needs a little more time to recover. she hasn't eaten in so long because of the Parvo causes a dog to loose its appitite. all she had lately is water. shes eating solid food now though. been getting better sence last night. shes eaten alot. as well as sleeping alot. Prince is about I would say much better then his sister at the moment. but both appear to be out of the woods so to speak. We're giving Rhyse some vitemins to help her get stronger. also to help her eat more.
they realy need to figure out how to make a cure for that Parvovirus.
just to be helpful, incase any of you guys have a dog. heres some infomation I know about the virus...
BEWARE! Parvovirus can infect cats as well. its a diffrent version of Parvo it is as equily deadly to kittens.
if your worried your pet has Parvo heres what you should keep an eye out for... vomiting, loss of appitite, diarea, and inactivity.
the most likely to be infected is Puppies and/or Kittens. sence their emmune system aren't fully develouped. it can and will infect adult dogs. but its less likely to get them. if your dog or cat is pregnant go have her vaccinated so the babies don't get transmitted with it.
Parvo doesn't effect humans. so you don't have to worry about yourself getting it from your dog or cat.
there is NO cure for it as of yet. it can only be treated until it is either fought off or.... well. it kills your pet to be blunt. this virus was discovered in 1978. its pretty hard to kill. and is best that your pet is taken to the vet as soon as the signs are noticed.
finaly, its best to have your puppie or kitten vaccenated every so often. ask your vet for the infomation you need on the virus.
