Anyone else seen Rango yet? I have just yesterday and I think I found a new obsession in the form of Rattlesnake Jake *glittery eyed*. I can't WAIT for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it all the time!! :DD

It's a great movie; not as kid-orientated as one would think, but still awesome! At least to me... I'm personally gonna go watch it a second time on the first opportunity I get!! I'm hoping the Naval Base theater will have it as one of its free movies. *on the verge of spazzing*

*notices* I just now realized you're a Littlefoot!! *snifflies* Our little LBTD is growing up so fast...

Not as kid-oriented-...wait a minute...are you saying I'm a kid? Well, I'll have you know I'm very mature...at least, in my thoughts.

Yayz! Thank's for noticing! :^.^:

EDIT: Dang, I still need to remember that "'I' before 'E' except after 'C' or sounding like 'ay' as in neighbor or way" thing.

:lol Course I'm not calling ya a kid!! Although if you call me a kid, I'll take it as a compliment! :D I'm just saying in general, it wasn't as kid-orientated as I originally thought. Sorry if it came off as an offense! :)

Absolutely no offense taken, FBS, I was making it as a joke. Heh, I still am a kid, but in twelve days, that will change. *evil laugh* :lol

Not as kid oriented, eh? Hm, I still wanna see it though, it looks funny, and I love funny movies! And, it looks amusing enough, so why not give it a shot.  :)  In truth though, judging by the animation and a little mouse or whatever girl holding a gun and saying, "you're dead" it does look like a family movie...just not that kiddy as one might think. Seez! I be maturez!!! :lol

I was really surprised by how much I liked Rango. The jokes were really funny(Who else caught the Fear and Loathing reference at the beginning?), the animation was really good, and while the plot was a little predictable, it was still a fun time. Made me want to go home and play Red Dead Redemption  :D

As silly as this may sound, I actually liked that they had the characters (mildly) swear. After all, if they didn't swear, we wouldn't have gotten one of the best lines in animation history:

Beans: Go to hell!

Rattlesnake Jake: Where do you think I come from?

EDIT: And speaking of hell, look at my total number of posts XD

I found it refreshing that they were pushing the edge with the mild swearing. I'm tired of animated movies automatically being labeled as a little kids movie. I remember hearing a bunch of language complaints from the parents after the movie and all I can do is shake my head. Don't parents bother to read WHY the movie is rated PG? For Rude Humor, Action, Smoking, and Language, so they really shouldn't be too surprised with it.  :lol

And yes, that is the best line of the whole movie!! Rattlesnake Jake FTW!!!

666!! What a coincidence!!

I've recently seen this movie. I liked it. So did my sister. Some parts were funny, but there were darker parts. I had expected it, though, since I read the movie was a bit darker than one would expect from an animation movie.

I first watched this movie about a month ago (I’ve gone back to it twice since then); it exceeded my expectations big time. It was hilarious (even if some of the humor was a bit “dirty” for my tastes), clever, visually astounding (the landscapes… :wow), and had some pretty awesome scenes. Seriously, is there another film in existence that has a chase scene involving a squadron of gophers riding bats after a peccary-drawn covered wagon while playing Ride of the Valkyries on banjos? :lol If that’s not epic, I don’t know what is. :P:

I must say I found many of the anthropomorphic animal designs rather creepy (I’m tellin’ ya, the uncanny valley isn’t just for humans), and frankly I couldn’t tell for certain what species half of the characters were supposed to be (and coming from me that’s saying something ).

Still, there were plenty of characters I liked, my top fave undoubtedly being Rattlesnake Jake*. Pretty much the instant he appeared onscreen, I knew this was going to be an awesome villain. I think the fact that he’s a giant rattlesnake with a Gatling gun for a rattle was the tip-off. :p And those eyes… those are the most hellish-looking peepers I’ve seen since Sauron in The Lord of the Rings. As far as I’m concerned, Jake is right up there with Sharptooth in the rank of antagonists that are simultaneously terrifying and awe-inspiring to the highest degree.

Random comment: Did anyone else catch the stealth pun in the tortoise’s statement that he was mayor before the town was built? He’s literally “older than Dirt”! :lol

*By the way, FlipperBoidSkua, somehow I wasn’t a bit surprised when I saw that you had an avatar of Rattlesnake Jake. :lol
