After downloading a free sculpting program, Sculptris, I played around with the controls and eventually made a headshot model of one of my characters, Axel, a vicious Darkarian female alimon.

Looks like a well designed character, and very colorful also.
-
Very well done, I like it.
-
Thanks.
Axel is one of my fav characters I created. She first appeared as a random character in my alimon comic, but she quickly grew on me and she became a major character.

This is pretty cool Kacie. I agree with Kor about the colors.
I've never really tried 3d art myself.
-
How long did it take you to make the model?
-
Probably an hour at least, or two hours. It doesn't take too long to make a model in Sculptris. The only thing that slowed me down was the fact it takes up so much CPU, so it ended up crashing on me a few times. Well that and I had a hard time getting the teeth to look right. They still don't look right to me. Oh well.

Whoa! That looks awesome, Kacie! :wow It really looks like a three-dimensional version of one of your drawings. I particularly like how the antorbital fenestra (the skull opening in front of the eyes) looks from the side (though in front view it looks to me like it might be a little deep compared to the sides of the snout). And this is the first time you’ve done 3D artwork?! Amazing!

I've done other 3D work. I did have something like a Metroid, but I can't open it up for some reason.
Anyway, here's my other work.

Second model I finished. Here, I practiced sculpting an open mouth. I don't like how the type of the tongue looks, but I'm still getting the hang of the controls.

Third model. I made this right after the sea serpent one. Just a random theropod head. The mouth seems to taper too much, though.

Most recent work. It's a model of Christie's head, combining both a somewhat realistic look and the Dino Squad style. Christie isn't my character; she belongs to Ryuukokoro.
I wasn't able to finish this model because, for some reason, when I added in a second object for the lower jaw (first time I did it this way) I wasn't able to sculpt it easily, and even painting it was difficult. So I just never completed it. Maybe I'll remake it later on.

This is great. Although I do like the first one; Axel better.
Perhaps you could also look around for tutorials. I have seen some 3D tutorials before but I don't know if it's the program that you have used.
-
I personally like all of them. Awesome work! ;)
-
They all look like well done work to me.

This isn't painted yet. Not sure when it will be. But I did a male alimon's head, then edited it to make a female alimon head. It was done for a friend of mine, Cyberlizard.
Edit: Ack! Sorry I posted up the wrong picture. Apologies to anyone who had seen the picture before it was removed.

Looks good so far, good luck on the further development working out to your satisfaction.
