Title: Rio
Post by: Nintendoofah64 on May 04, 2011, 08:07:23 PM
I saw this movie a while ago because it not only had birds as the main characters it had tropical birds (macaws, parrots, toucans).

My fav character is Eva the keel billed toucan. :DD

Blu has ALOT of similarities with Petrie and Jewel is similar to Cera.

I'll post more when I have more time.

I'm not sure if we already have a thread about this film, but i'll reply anyway. Saw it a couple weeks ago, and I really enjoyed it. the animation was very good, the jokes were funny, and all in all i enjoyed it.

I'm back to post more

I like Eva because she's a Toucan and Toucans are my favourite birds of all.

My fav scene is when Rafael tells Blu to tell Jewel 'You have beautiful eyes' and Blu says "I have beautiful eyes" :spit

Neither can I, but that's August 22 (maybe 26, I can't remember), 2011. I wanted to watch it in theatres, but I'm not 16 yet, so I couldn't have drove there, and my mom didn't want to take me. <_<

Does the film have many scenes with the characters singing? Because I like the look of it from what I've seen in trailers, but that stuff makes me feel kind of uncomfortable for some reason.

There's some songs in it Bushwhacked, but it's not over the top, I'd say. It's still really good, and one of the best animated films of the year in my opinion. You should check it out all the same. :DD

Oh get over that feeling. It has like he said some songs. They didn't make me feel uncomfortable when I watched the movie.  Why would you feel uncomfortable listening to the songs BushWacked?

This was one of those movies that made me go eh the first time I watched it but, because of my niece and nephew who insist on watching it every day, I find myself liking the movie more and more. I like Will.I.Am's character   Funny bird he is.

I Liked how they got George Lopez to lend his voice for that movie.

Yeah, I really liked Pedro and Nico myself. They were great. :D They were like... the ultimate chill birds. XD I also liked Rafael too. :yes This movie is making me hope that I'll be working in the consulate in Rio someday if I get in to the Foreign Service. XD :DD

I dunno why, but whenever I watch a film with singing I just feel... embarrased (the only exception is the Tim Burton version of Sweeney Todd). It's weird. But, since you guys think this film is good, I'll push through and watch it. Maybe I'll even like the songs  :D

You should definitely see Rio. The song "Real in Rio" is pretty good and the one that Nigel sings.

Just to let people know, a second Rio movie is apparently in production now and that 20th Century Fox is interested in turning Rio into a franchise. Just posting this link beacuse there's too many sources to post (this page has multiple sources for Rio 2). http://rio.wikia.com/wiki/Rio_2 (http://rio.wikia.com/wiki/Rio_2)

Can't wait for Rio 2. Maybe we will find out more about Blu and Jewel's kids that were at the end of the first one.

Jesse Eisenberg has signed up to voice Blu again. http://www.deadline.com/2012/04/jesse-eise...ng-icm-for-caa/ (http://www.deadline.com/2012/04/jesse-eisenberg-is-leaving-icm-for-caa/)

Also, and this is from one of the contributors at Rio wiki, who is also a storyboard artist for Rio 2, he informed me that two of Blu's chicks are male and one is female, and that one of the conflicts of the movie will be that Blu's daughter can't fly. He also said that the opening scene may involve Blu and Jewel's chicks. He said he couldn't provide anything but information (such as images) because he could get fined for leaking too much information. He didn't reveal anything about their names or new characters though, but said that they have started the storyboard process.

I realize that this image uses stock pictures from one of the promo posters from Rio (and that I'm double posting, but there hasn't been any posts for 2 months), but we've got our first image for Rio 2. http://www.comingsoon.net/imageGallery/Lic...xpo_2012_24.jpg (http://www.comingsoon.net/imageGallery/Licensing_Expo_2012/Licensing_Expo_2012_24.jpg)
