Silver Screen / Next couple Nostalgia Critics confirmed!
« on: August 14, 2010, 08:56:02 PM »

I'm looking forward to the next 11 NC mistakes and the Leprechaun review, but I'm going to be honest about one thing:

Since it's on his list, I'll admit that the movie It scares me still today a bit, and I may not actually watch the review of it.

Animation / Vitani and Nuka

Vitani:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!  (Quickly, silently) Does anyone look scared Nuka?

Nuka: Yeah...

Vitani: My screamer video is a success!  :DD

(Sorry for the text at the bottom of the pic, got it off a website.)

Silver Screen / Inception
« on: July 17, 2010, 07:02:50 PM »
...and it was amazing!  :yes The plot was very intriguing, and albeit it was somewhat hard to follow, it was an original story. Try not to take too many bathroom breaks cause there are some details if you miss them, you'll be confused.

The special effects were convincing, my favorites being the folded city and the zero gravity fight in the hotel dream.

My only major complaints are that outside Cobb (the main character) and Ellen Page's character, most of the characters in this movie didn't really have back stories, so it lacked an emotional impact (Albeit most of them weren't in mortal danger during the movie.)

The multi-dream layers were an interesting aspect, as well as how time worked in each one.

All in all, I recommend seeing this movie.

Silver Screen / Worst movie title ever...
« on: July 01, 2010, 12:52:20 AM »
I admit, I'm looking forward to Final Destination 5, as cheesy and a bit of a letdown 4 was.

And I still am, but then I saw what they're naming the movie: http://www.getthebigpicture.net/blog/2010/...title-ever.html

I'm still a bit excited, but about that title, are you freaking kiddin' me?

The Party Room / What the LBT cast has gone onto..
« on: June 24, 2010, 04:43:49 PM »
This is a little game I thought of that would be funny:

Now that LBT is over, all the characters (assuming they were real and existed in a modern society somehow) what have they gone on to do with their lives now that their movie series is over?

Here's some I thought of:

Petrie: Became a student teacher in English for a local university.

Spike: Became a popular radio DJ (because the movie producers thought his regular voice would be weird for a kid's film, they didn't allow him to speak in them  :DD  , but has found several fans thanks to his opinions.)

Topsy: Politician. Lost every election he ran for...

Dil: Married the alligator from All Dogs go to Heaven. Wedding attendees reported the marriage ceremony seemed pretty random....  :DD

General Land Before Time / Who's your favorite VA in the series?
« on: June 16, 2010, 01:03:27 AM »
Out of all the LBT movies and episodes, which voice actors gave your personal favorite performances?

I always liked Jeff Bennett as Petrie, and also as Ichy. By the later movies Bennett's Petrie voice felt so natural to me it'd be odd to hear someone else play him if the time ever came.

This game has interested me since I heard about it, especially the "Balance the Ship" and "Pass the Bomb" games we've seen in the trailer.

What do you guys think?

Silver Screen / Movies/etc that have a special place in your heart
« on: June 14, 2010, 11:21:11 PM »
This topic isn't about necessarily what are your favorite movies, games, etc...but rather ones (And they can be among your current favorites) that have a special place in your heart whether it be for nostalgic value, or if they sparked or resparked your interest in something.

For me, I have special places in my heart for....

Movies:
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers and Child's Play 2 for being the first slasher films I saw fully and sparked my interest in the slasher genre.

Rat Race: The first PG-13 film I saw in theaters. (I was younger than 13 when it came out obviously) I found it hilarious then, and I still have a special place in my heart for the movie.

Games:
The PS1 Final Fantasy Trilogy (7,8, and 9)-I played first played 7 when I was either 6 or 7, and I was hooked instantly. Even though I was too young to understand the story, I loved the boss battle music in 7 and flying around the world map on the Highwind. The same goes with 8 and 9, with 8 having IMO the best airship theme.

F-Zero for the SNES. My first video game and racing game, it got me hooked on the genre instantly.

Silver Screen / Top 10 AVGN Moments.
« on: June 09, 2010, 06:39:44 PM »
Similar to the "your favorite NC moments" thread, this topic is about your favorite moments from the Critic's rival, the Angry Video Game Nerd.

10. His shocked face when he lands the plane in Top Gun.....with the Power Glove.
9. His reaction to the upside down chicken mask-wearing narrator in Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.
8. In the Batman Forever review, when complaining about the controls, "Why is everything so cryptic?!"
7. In the Dick Tracy review, "I've owned this game for almost 20 ****ing years and I still can't past the FIRST STAGE!!!"
6. His reaction to Time Wrap Tickers from the Action 52 review.
5. His final rant on Action 52.
4. When one level in the Transformers game has a t-rex, a ufo, and a farm, "I have no comment."
3. The entire bit in the Superman NES review about the mission about finding out why stock prices are down. "Why would you make a game about stocks?!"
2. His big "WHY?!" rant during the opening credits of Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.
1. My favorite AVGN moment actually isn't a comedic one. At the end of his Castlevania marathon, when he says how the credits replay clips from previous levels, "It's like watching old memories. And that's what the Castlevania games are for me...memories that will last forever." That part honestly touched me. It made me think back to when I was around 6-9 and how the PS1 Final Fantasy trilogy (7, 8, and 9) are for me memories I won't forget.

What about you guys?

The Fridge / Places you want to travel to in life
« on: June 06, 2010, 12:14:59 AM »
Like the title topic says, what are places in the world you're interested in traveling to in your life?

Some of mine include:
New York City (For all the sights and sounds.)
Chicago
London
Japan as a whole, but especially Tokyo and Osaka.

Silver Screen / What movies do you think are underrated?
« on: June 05, 2010, 11:29:44 PM »
The difference between a film you think is underrated and a guilty pleasure is that a guilty pleasure typically has a mostly negative reception, a film you think is underrated could be both that or a film that has a positive reception, but is not that very well known-or remembered.

Some movies I think are underrated:
Happy Birthday to Me, a 1980 slasher
Rock-A-Doodle
The Lion King 2
Cats Don't Dance
Terror Train

Silver Screen / Scream 4 is confirmed!
« on: May 31, 2010, 01:29:50 PM »
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scream_4

Albeit it's been confirmed for about a month or so now, I just wanted to post this because I'm a major Scream trilogy fan, and I'm excited to see how this movie will play out. I love whodunit slasher movies, and the Scream series had good mysteries.

So now one of my favorite slasher series is getting another sequel, not a remake, after a little over a decade, and I'm all for it.

« on: May 26, 2010, 05:39:20 PM »
Based off another family-friendly series I love, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraggle_Rock  I was hoping we could create an rp based off the adventures of the Fraggles and the other species in or near the rock after the series finale.

It should be noted that there are a crapload of characters in the series, so I'll only list the really main ones now, and you can feel free to play an OC or canon character I didn't list here.

Gobo-Nick22

Gamers Zone / What are your favorite racing games?
« on: May 22, 2010, 12:24:31 PM »
Since I got my first video game console when I was really young, racing games have been my favorite genre. In fact, here's how many I own:

SNES:
F-Zero

Computer:
Lego Racers
Lego Racers 2
Sonic R
Re-Volt

Gameboy Color:
Mickey's Racing Adventure
Mickey's Speedway USA
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer

Gameboy Advance:
Konami Krazy Racers
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Cartoon Network Speedway

PS1:
Crash Team Racing
Jet Moto 2
Jet Moto 3
RC Revenge
Chocobo Racing
Looney Tunes Racing
Speed Punks
Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour
Woody Woodpecker racing
Muppet RaceMania
Land before Time: Great Valley Racing Adventure  :DD

PS2: (Here's the big list.)
Star Wars Racer Revenge
Looney Tunes Space Race
Hot Wheels: Velocity X
Road Trip
Rayman Arena
Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild
Crash Nitro Kart
Cartoon Network Racing
Sonic Riders
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
Crash Tag Team Racing
Shrek Smash and Crash Racing
Hot Wheels: Beat That!

PSP:
Sonic Rivals

Wii:
Mario Kart Wii
Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing

With owning 38 racing video games, I can't really pick a favorite, but I was wondering what your favorite racing video games were. As you might notice, my favorite type of racing is kart racing.

And even though I don't have a PS3, that new Modnation Racers looks really good.
