I think WR was just stating how he felt about the series.

But you're right, Keni. RE is a very successful and popular game series. Though not everyone likes RE.
I know WR was stating his opinion about the series, but that wasn't what I meant. I was just mentioning about both RE1, 2 and 3 being on the list at the beginning of the topic.

If that list is by the general opinion of this board, then my bad. But if it's from an official source that includes those three games as horrible games, then yeah that's what I meant.

Wait wait wait wait...Did I missed something? Since when Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 were considered horrible? o_O The series is very popular and they sell great, and many praise Resident Evil 2 as the best game in the series. From where did they suddenly become "horrible" games?

If you want horrible games, then check out Superman 64 and Big Rigs XD

Well the game covers the important parts of the game series, but I have to mention that it doesn't cover EVERYTHING and you won't see all of the characters from Resident Evil 0, 1 and 3. About 50% of the story by just playing the scenarios and the rest you learn from files you can find hidden thorough the levels.

So yeah, I recommend you finding the files. They're not that hard to find as long as you shoot anything and everything in the levels (Boxes, lamps, chairs, tables, even doors you can shoot open). You'll learn more about all of the enemies of the series, main character bios, summaries of all the Resident Evil games and more about Umbrella's backstory and what they have been doing to poor innocent people.

It's a great recap of the whole Resident Evil plotline, but I do have to mention that it's not the same as playing the actual past games themselves to learn about the plotline.

I got Umbrella Chronicles and for an on-rails shooter, it's pretty good. Your main weapon is the Handgun, which has unlimited bullets. But along the level you can find ammo for different weapons like shotguns, machine guns, and you can use them to and switch weapons on the fly to match the situation where it's needed. Ammo is scarce for these weapons, so it's best to use your handgun as much as you can and use your other weapons when necessary like when crowded by zombies or facing Hunters or Chimeras.

The game covers all the important plot events in Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3 while also touching on unknown things like how Rebecca did in the mansion before she was found by Alpha Team and how Wesker escaped the mansion. We also play as Ada as she escapes the city with the sample of the G-Virus and even cover HUNK's escape.

The game also includes a brand new Scenario, covering the final events that led to Umbrella's downfall. Including a look at Wesker's agenda on what he wants and how he gets them.

The game is very fun with a lot of objects in the background to destroy to find weapons, ammo, files (Which add more to the story) and recovery items. So you'll spend a lot of time shooting objects to find files and ammo.

The levels also have secret rooms (Which you access by finding the right door and shooting it down) and alternate paths which you take depending on your choosings. You'll find yourself coming back for more to fully explore the areas, get better rankings and star points to upgrade your weapons.

I really recommend this game to Resident Evil fans and on-rail shooters fan. It's surprisingly challenging but very fun, especially when playing it in co-op. (My friend and I had a blast playing this together today.)

Any other questions regarding Umbrella Chronicles I'll be happy to answer.

Finally, someone mentions Galaxy! I got it myself the day it was released (Also got the coin) and it's super awesome! Best Mario game to date!

The game is balanced with tough and easy stars, the graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay is brilliant. The game is very trippy with the gravity and all the different planets, and it's really fun launching yourself in the stars and fly accross the galaxy from planet to planet. The game is also cute and adorable with the Lumas and Rosalina.

All in all every Wii owner should pick this game, it's a must buy and it's extremely fun.

Yup, Final Fantasy XI is an MMORPG so it's also on computer. Final Fantasy XI is also on PS2 and Xbox 360. If you probably heard of Final Fantasy XI I'm a bit surprised you didn't know it's also on computer XD

I've been planning on getting this game for a while now. But I'll wait for a price drop, I don't think it's worth $52 full price (Yes, here in Puerto Rico things are three dollars more than in the US, and that's without tax).

I'll definetly get it after a price drop though. Unless I snap and buy it at full price anyway XD

I use McAfee. I used to have Norton but using that antivirus program was such a nightmare, especially when I used to play Final Fantasy XI.

If you send your Wii to Nintendo for repairs they might transfer all of your purchased VC games to a new one if it comes to that. However, I think that's done if your Wii is still under warranty.

I also think that's why they give you the option of linking your My Nintendo Account in the Wii Shop Channel page. By doing so the VC games you purchase will be added to your My Games list in your My Nintendo Account. So if you get another Wii just go to said Wii's Shop Channel and link your My Nintendo Account to it and you can download the ones already purchased before that are in your My Games list.

I may be wrong though, that's just what I believe linking your My Nintendo account to your Shop Channel does. I hope it does just that, though.

Silver Screen / Astro Boy
« on: October 26, 2007, 06:07:51 PM »
I've seen some episodes of Astro Boy before and I liked what I saw, it reminds me of MegaMan but it has its own charm. I would love to see the entire 1960 and 2003 series.

Although for actual Astro Boy fanatics, the real challenge for them would be to find and watch the ORIGINAL black and white series. All 192 episodes of them. XD

Gamers Zone / The Legend of Zelda (all)

I also have Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and yes everything is done by touch screen. It takes a little to get used to it, but once you get used to it it's smooth and very responsive. I finished the game and I love it! The game is so clever.

There are puzzles that you have to draw the entire map's outline to solve, draw certain symbols, and even close the DS top lid with your map open to press a symbol into the map (This one took a while for me to solve XD)

Gotta love Nintendo for their cleverness and uniqueness.

Actually, many many people praise Phantom Hourglass' control scheme, it's very responsible and smooth. The way it's used is very clever and innovative.

As for the boss battles, they are epic and take some strategy to beat them. But once you figure out the strategies the bosses are easy, but extremely fun.

The only thing I don't like about this game is that they reuse the same music for every island and dungeon. Not much diversity with the soundtrack.

Overall, a worthy entry to the Zelda franchise and one of the best DS games and one of them who uses the touch screen at its best. But dang, this game will kill your touch screen if you're too rough XD

Interesting

Littlefoot: "Windows Operating System? Never heard of it."

Tanner: "Halo? Metroid? Wha...?"

Kacie: "Spyro the Dragon? Is that from a fantasy book?"

KingdomKey23: "Kingdom Hearts it's for little kids, sooo kiddy! And Yu-Gi-Oh is terrible, it's all 'blah blah attack mode magic card blah', the story sucks and Yugi's deck is so broken!"

I'm so sorry but I just couldn't resist XD

A timeless classic! I still own my original SNES cartridge of this game. It's very fun and lots of cultural references and funny lines. The storyline is incredibly new for a Mario game in its time but it fits well in the Mario universe. This game is incredibly anticipated for the Wii's Virtual Console, here's hoping it shows up soon.
