The LBT 6 sharptooth survived what seemed to be an even deeper drop.
True Malte279. Maybe sharpteeth are like cats or something similar perhaps?

General Land Before Time / Littlefoot's Leadership
« on: March 17, 2013, 05:24:28 AM »
In my opinion, Littlefoot is a leader with little experience under his belt. you can only be a good leader with a solid understanding on the three forms of leadership, and most importantly: experience. Case in point; the first movie. After his mother died, he was on his own, and when the rest of the gang joined him, Littlefoot had no experience in leadership. He did not know how to guide, motivate, assert his position, or more importantly in the first movie, resolve confrontations.

It was only after the first movie, where Littlefoot had some experience in leading a group and therefore, have a foundation to build and improve on in later situations. The moral of the story is that there is no such thing as a natural born leader and leadership takes knowledge and more importantly; experience.

1988 Theatrical Release / What could have made the 1st movie better?

3. It's a kid's movie...they can't show death for too long or the G-rating will increase to PG

Lets thing in a modern context. Back in the 1980's movie rating was more strict then than now, so that a event or a quote that might appear in a modern PG kids movie could go as far a an M for example. In modern kids movies, there is more violence, frightening scenes, and if you listen carefully, a few adult references.

So I will agree with you Bruton; I would of liked to see more time in before and after Littlefoot's mother's death. the shortness of the scene and the far shot disappointed me. I wanted to see Littlefoot in the moments after her death to see his reactions. Apart from an uncut version of the film, the rest of the film was good for me.

To my knowledge, after someone (in this case Littlefoot) experiences a traumatic event, they go through 5 key stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

By the time we get to the scene where Littlefoot encounters Rooter, he was clearly in or on the borderline of anger. so when Littlefoot blames his mother for her death it is an expected reaction from someone that just experienced a traumatic event in their lives.

1988 Theatrical Release / The stampede in the original!

That stampede in my opinion was the random, out of the blue event that almost every movie has!

The Sharptooth = supernatural?

Supposed Superpowers of Original Sharptootht

These cover most of the explanations. I'll add one more.
Maybe Sharptooth isn't supernaturally strong, but supernaturally lightweight? It explains his high jumps and durability, and also explains the fact that his jumping on Littlefoot's mother's back didn't break it.

Still, the most plausible explanation is that sharptooth was drawn that way to make a stronger impression on the viewers.
Thanks for the information. Yeh, when you think about he does to have superpowers, or he is a exception to the rules of nature. Either one of the two.

Stupid freaking LEGO's! They lie all over the place waiting for a fresh foot! I remember what happened to Cera's Father a while back when he stepped on a sharp LEGO piece... Lots of blood was shed that day...
Cera: You'll get used to it eventually. :smile

Ruby: How do you get used to something that hurts?

Cera: It's called repetition.

Ruby: What's repetition?

Cera: Oh come on Ruby! How can you not know!  :anger

Ruby: Well I know enough to stop when you get mad, stop when you get mad I know. :DD

Cera: :anger  :anger  :anger
