General Land Before Time / Being a Yellowbelly
« on: March 02, 2013, 04:09:20 AM »
Yes, unfortunately it is indeed true that a yellowbelly farted on Petrie. It was raining, and Littlefoot found cave to shelter in. Ducky and Petrie ran in first, and then were sat on by a moutain of yellowbellies. Then cue the fart. :x

Being a yellowbelly... wow, I really haven't given it much thought, but I would agree with Mumbling here about being carefree and making some fun out of bad situations.

I believe that is Cera in the 6th movie when she realises that Littlefoot has gone to Saurus Rock to fix the bad luck. She tells the twins to wait with Grandpa Threehorn and then says that line. :)

Seeing as Rainbow has left, and I think that's the right answer, do you want to carry on, Malte? This game looks quite fun to me. :DD

Sorry to hear about that, Rainbow. My mum was iffy about me being on deviantart when I first joined it, but I'm sure you'll be able to come back in a few years or so.
In the meantime, good luck to you.  :yes

General Land Before Time / LBT Languages
« on: February 26, 2013, 02:42:19 AM »
It could possibly be a similar story to Chomper. They may be sharptooth flyers that grew up around leaf-eaters and picked up the language.
There could possibly be a different language for flyers all together. A lot of them tend to screech, but again, some probably picked up either leaf-eater or sharptooth.

General Land Before Time / The Longneck Herd
« on: February 26, 2013, 02:42:05 AM »
Both are certainly possible, though I do agree with Blais here that it is strange that everyone died except Littlefoot's mother and grandparents (and I guess Bron too).

Since the narrator said that some herds stopped to hatch their young, I suppose it's possible that the longneck herd carried on while the family stayed to watch over the eggs. It never actually shows any longneck herds besides Littlefoot's family.

Anyway, I've looked through a few things, and this is something I came up with:

I saw "Legend of the Story Speakers" today, and I think Saro may have been part of the herd, before being separated somehow. Since Grandpa says something along the lines of "Saro? Is that you? I had almost given up hope!" <--- Did Grandpa think that Saro may have died?
Another thing that I don't quite get is when Bron says that there was a huge crack in the earth when he got to his home. From what I gathered from the first movie, Littlefoot's mother and grandparents were already on the journey to the Great Valley, and a fair bit of time seems to have passed between Littlefoot's birth and the next scene, where it is shown that they are travelling. Could this mean that there was perhaps a different earthquake which caused that crack, possibly separating the herd? I'd say that Littlefoot's family were close to the the front of the herd and managed to escape, some in the middle fell to their deaths, and those at the back, possibly including Saro, were stuck on the other side. After that, some probably died of starvation and disease, while others joined other passing longneck herds for protection. Perhaps a few of them even found Bron and joined him. If there were any others on the same side as Littlefoot's family, then, as Blais said, they probably carried on when Littlefoot's mother laid her eggs. Saro, either waiting until the Great Drought had passed, or when he realised that everyone was forgetting the longneck stories, later set out to find the Great Valley and reunite with his old friend again.

I just made this up today, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were a load of mistakes and things that don't make sense in this. Well, nobody knows what really happened, but I really do like to see people's idea and theories.  :yes

General Land Before Time / The Longneck Herd
« on: February 24, 2013, 12:04:52 PM »
Okay, I've never started a topic here before, but this is just something that caught my attention.

This only really occurred to me yesterday when I watched the original Land Before Time movie for the 10,000th time. I don't know why, but it only struck me then during the narration. Just what exactly happened to rest of the longneck herd before Littlefoot was born? I'd say it was a fairly large group, so how did it all come down to just Littlefoot's mother and grandparents? We know that Bron left to find a new home, but what about the rest of them?

I'm just scouring through a couple of films and TV episodes to see if I can come up with my own theory, but it would be interesting to see what you think.  :yes

You sound a lot like a good friend of mine. She's really into her music and performing arts in general. I'm not sure about the sports part, though. Most people I know are pretty lazy, myself included. :lol

May as well ask another. XD
So, since you enjoy video games, what's your favourite gaming platform and/or your favourite game?

Character Discussion / Grandma Longneck
« on: February 22, 2013, 06:59:43 PM »
To be honest, after the way she fought in the original movie, I wouldn't be surprised if Littlefoot's mother started battling with other sharpteeth in order to protect her family/friends/rest of the herd, along with Bron and Grandpa, while Grandma got others out of the way (perhaps the lost longneck herd from before Littlefoot was born?). She seems like a pretty strong fighter to me, even if she ended up getting killed for the sake of her son living, but then again that was one impossibly strong and ferocious sharptooth. I could imagine Grandma being like that as a younger adult, well, perhaps not so able to bash sharpteeth against cliffs with her tail, but still very able to ward one off, but as I said before, getting older probably weakened her physical ability, leaving her to go off and warn the others and get the most vulnerable ones out of danger, while the stronger fighters like Grandpa and Topps go and fight it off. :yes
Seeing as Grandpa mentions them still being a good team after so many years in 10, I believe that she would indeed fight alongside her mate when both were younger, perhaps contributing a fair bit more than she did in the movies. I guess it's just another thing we may never know about these two. :confused

Well, I'm a fairly good mathematician, so I do very well in Maths (heck, now I have to teach it to little kids! =O). I also enjoy Science (not counting Biology, though XD), I'm okay at French, I find History quite interesting, and I love Textiles just because everyone loves to wind up the teacher.  :lol

Thanks for the questions, guys! 8D

Character Discussion / Grandma Longneck
« on: February 22, 2013, 04:33:42 PM »
I think as she got older Grandma has sort of taken the role of getting the others out of danger while Grandpa fights it off or goes to help a few individuals who are trapped (such as Topps and Cera in 3). However, if by "getting the others out of danger" she has to go in and help fight it off, then she will do so.
Also, Grandpa mentions in the fourth movie that she wasn't as strong as she once was, which suggests that she may have been a fairly strong fighter in her younger days, but old age has taken it's toll on her more so than her mate, leaving Grandpa as the fighter of the family. :yes

Yeah, my dad's quite a sporty person, so every Wednesday he takes me rock climbing, and whenever I go down to my grandparents in Devon (during the summer of course), then I will also go bodyboarding, since they live literally ten minutes from the sea. I find it strange that I enjoy these sports when I usually hate physical activity to the bone.  :DD

Ah, I pretty much ruined the first Land Before Time for my friend who wanted to watch it with me because I added really stupid commentary at some parts. XD
