I have movie 4, which we've had since it first came out, practically, and an old VHS of old Disney movies and the original film. I erased all the disney stuff, but kept the original LBT.

To my horror, though, the credits get cut off after the first chorus of "If We Hold On Together"!  :cry

Also, when I was REALLY young---I've told about this in my story---I remember us having a few pages from an LBT book that was apparently the original---one was a picture of Cera's dad with her and Littlefoot, and him telling her that threehorns didn't play with longnecks, and the other was Littlefoot, Ducky, Spike and Petrie covered in tar and laughing at (offscreen) Cera.

Also, I briefly owned some pages back two Aprils ago, in 2012, from an LBT book mom decorated my room with. She was so pissed with me after I'd spent all of a spring break family trip on computer, and than snuck on when we got home, that she was that pissed, saying, "But you must love it!"

Cera: Petrie having imaginary friends...hmph! They ought to be as much fun and annoying as Mo!

Me, Bruton: "But I thought you liked Mo, Cera! You're not STILL jealous of him, are you?"

Littlefoot: Hey, guys!

Cera: Hey, Littlefoot!

Littlefoot: Isn't it beautiful tonight? Just look at the stars...

Petrie: Yeah! They so pretty! Hey...that look like you, Littlefoot!

Littlefoot: Where?

Ducky: On your left, silly! *giggles*

Littlefoot: *gasps* WOW! That really does look like me!

Ducky: I have never seen stars like this, no no no. How about you, Spike?

Spike: Uh-uh.

Petrie: Me neither. You beautiful up there, Littlefoot!

Littlefoot: Really? Thanks!

Grandpa Longneck: Littlefoot! Littlefoot!

Mr. Threehorn: Cera, time for bed!

Ms. Swimmer: Ducky! Spike! Time to come home!

Ms. Flyer: Petrie! Where are you? It's bedtime!

All: Coming!

*they all disappear, except for Littlefoot, who continues to look up at his shape in the stars before heading off*

That's really great...wish it would be in a movie!!

Sheryl Crow's "I Shall Believe".

...

Come to me now
And lay your hands over me
Even if it's a lie
Say it will be alright
And I shall believe

I'm broken in two
And I know you're on to me
That I only come home
When I'm so all alone
But I do believe...

...That not everything is gonna be the way
You think it ought to be...
It seems like every time I try to make it right
It all comes down on me...
Please say honestly you won't give up on me...
...And I shall believe...
...And I shall believe...

Open the door
And show me your face tonight
I know it's true
No one heals me like you
And you hold the key

Never again
Would I turn away from you
I'm so heavy tonight
But your love is alright
And I do believe...

...That not everything is gonna be the way
You think it ought to be...
It seems like every time I try to make it right
It all comes down on me...
Please say honestly you won't give up on me...
And I shall believe...
...I shall believe...
...And I shall believe...

...that not everything is gonna be the way
You think it ought to be...
It seems like every time I try to make it right
It all comes down on me...
Please say honestly you won't give up on me...
 And I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...And I shall believe...

Please say honestly you won't give up on me...

...

...And I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe...
 ...I shall believe.

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It fills me with the same deep nostalgia that LBT did when I first re-discovered it in late March-early April 2011, and really continued to until I ended up watching the movies that summer.

The song gives me the imagery of walking on a beach at sunset...very peaceful...

Yeah, it sorta started going downhill with this one; I call 2-5 the "big 4", since they're the best

LBT 9: It is a nice ending, nothing special, just nice.

Funny, those 2 are two of my favorites.  ;)

General Land Before Time / saddest crying scene in the sequels?
« on: September 18, 2013, 03:56:18 PM »
Listen, I'm sorry I even made this topic. It was pretty stupid.

And Malte, just for the record, the characters don't cry in that scene in LBT 9, so that's why I didn't put anything on. Don't worry, though, we all remember things wrong somtimes.  ;)

Y'know, I think those three should have had their own spin off series, like "The Adventures of Ducky, Spike and Petrie" or something like that. They just are a really good team those three.

That would be a cool way to reboot LBT...while Littlefoot, Cera, Chomper and Ruby are off doing something.

I remember they gave "Jimmy Neutron" a spinoff that had Sheen as the main charadcter, and Carl was in it too...

General Land Before Time / Movie introductions
« on: September 18, 2013, 03:36:56 PM »
I know most would say the original, but I picked 2 because it felt like a great introduction to LBT as I first knew it...during the Roy Allan Smith era.

I'll definitely be here for that. I'm just going to have to be careful around Mom. She's having a really tough time now, going through a divorce with my dad. It's really sad...she doesn't know how much he's kept from her all these years. :(

General Land Before Time / Great Longneck Migration's 10th anniversary
« on: September 18, 2013, 01:03:02 PM »
I'm starting to see the movies fro their flaws, but I still think 1 is brilliant and everything up to movie 9 I love for nostalgic purposes (although I commonly think of 2-5 as "the big 4", seeing as they are the 4 best sequels).

10-13 aren't my favorite, but 10 is probably the best of the last 4 sequels...maybe 13 cause it had a lot of Petrie, my favorite member of the gang, in it, and Guido, whom I love.

- The character of Bron. His story may have a few holes, but on the whole (no pun intended) he is a good choice for a character. Littlefoot's father was going to have to be approached at one point, and I also like how Littlefoot's reaction was not cliche and he trusted him immediatley.

Aside from Malte, who I know hates this one---and he or she has every right to  ;) ---a lot of people here seem to really be forgiving of Bron, even though he abandoned his wife, who was, as MarzGurl pointed out, either pregnant or planning on being pregnant.

Was the earthquake Bron was trapped by the one from movie 1, BTW? Because if it was, he was gone for quite a bit....Littlefoot was about 6 by then (in longneck time  ;) ).

If it was another earthquake, I can see how he would have eben searching for a long time. He likely knew of his wife's plan to go to the great valley and should have gone there.

OK I'm getting off topic but I just thought I'd point out some things., since I recently watched MarzGurl's review and love the points she made.

1988 Theatrical Release / This is, frankly, quite ridiculous . . .
« on: September 12, 2013, 01:33:28 PM »
Gosh I've heard about this myth about LF's mom getting her back torn open not in shadow...I seriously doubt it's true cause if it was it would have been on Youtube YEARS ago...but I still think it's worth looking into.

Also, the movie came out at the end of 1988, so it wouldn't have been released on VHS til the following year...

Children of their age (10 to 13) think everything that they watched in their childhood is automatically 'babyish'. As soon as they pass the age of 15, they start getting nostalgic and see the value in LBT.

Exactly.  ;)

Two and a half years ago, I was in a really depressed point in my life, but LBT gave me a little slice of pure nostalgia heaven that I feel really helped me.

Well, I've since fallen back into my depression, and am now seeing the LBT sequels for their babyish qualities. It's not that they're bad, but yes, they are meant for little kids. If I hadn't grown up with them, I might not even think twice about them.

I also have a thing for nitpicking and overwatching, to the point where gotten to over-analyzing the original movie and know it nearly by heart, so it's rather unfun to watch.

So I'm going to take an extended break from LBT, I'm not sure how long. I think I need to grow up a little mentally before I can even consider watching anything LBT. But when I do end up watching it again, it will be really worth it.  ;)

Still, thanks to rediscovering the movies, I found you guys.  :D

General Land Before Time / Great Longneck Migration's 10th anniversary
« on: September 12, 2013, 12:55:52 PM »
Wow, time really flies!

What we're really going to be focused on this year is the 25th anniversary of the original 1988 movie, of course, but this is also something to look forward to. I'm really seeing the sequels for their flaws now, and have no plan to watch them anytime in the near future, but it's great to celebrate their 10th anniversaries. I remember back in 2010 Jared, I think, brought up the fact that it was movie 7's 10th anniversary, and last year I made a topic celebrating Movie 9.

Next year, though, is gonna be the first 20th anniversary for a sequel!   ;)
