Character Discussion / Tria
« on: March 01, 2008, 10:40:15 PM »
Well, it seems possible to only lay one egg.  I'll try to keep this no stronger than PG rated.  I learned in Anatomy & Physiology that the female body will actually attack the male sex cells :wow.  This is why successful pregnancy takes several attempts in many cases.  Anyhoo, the male's cells are seen as a kind of virus to the female immune system, and so the white blood cells march into battle.  I know this applies to human females, but who's to say this does not occur in females of other living things?  To wrap up this bit of info, it seems as though Tria's pregnancy was a near-miss but miraculous at the same time.

Character Discussion / Tricia

I dunno y'all .  Too much drama for an LBT movie and especially the Threehorn family, considering all they've been through.  I'm certain if Mr. Threehorn and his first wife split up, the wife would've stayed nearby for Cera's sake.  There's no way the two would have their children divided up in two different "households."  Based on Cera's initial reaction to Tria, one could assume she most likely has memories of her mother and still loves her.  Cera has never once mentioned her missing relatives since the original movie.  I think they're six feet under pushing daisies :cry.  Perhaps it's too painful for Cera and even her father, despite their strong mentalities, to talk about.

Y'all ain't weird, not even Lain_EX.  It's great to know one is not alone in this manner.  "Normal" people do not exist, so the definition of a normal person is an open-ended answer.  BTW, I failed to mention my most recent crush: Taven.  He is the main character in MK: Armageddon.

CT: Great topic, y'all!

Shao Kahn:  Outstanding!

Y'all are right.  That is great news :yes.  To all ya LBT hatin' SOBs: :nyah  :nyah!  LBT is anything but dead :yes.  Excuse my implied language.  This is really such awesome news :D.

Yep yep yep.  Moving does suck <_<.  Growing up in a Navy family, I've had my fair share of moves.  I feel for ya, DH.  Do ya by any chance have a wireless connection?  Maybe ya can still chat with us no matter where ya are during the move :yes.  Best of luck.

Character Discussion / Tria
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:38:44 AM »
Well, I did not see a thread for Tria in here, so I'll start one :D.

Tria does not get much screen time, but she's definitely my fourth favorite LBT character.  I was immediately drawn to her sweet temperament and compassionate personality.  I've read in a couple of other posts regarding the Threehorn family that she does not seem to have been a good addition to LBT.  I beg to differ.  To start off, it's about time someone started getting Mr. Threehorn to tame his temper  :yes.  It just seems as though his character has softened since Tria came into the picture (no pun intended :lol).  What really got me was how she and Cera finally managed to bond.  I'm certain many of y'all know what it's like living in a broken family :(.  While Cera most likely remembers her mother and misses her, Tria seems to have come in at a crucial time.  Tria loves Cera enough that she was willing to put herself in harm's way (the sharpteeth in LBT 11) so that Cera would be saved.  That's a sure way to earn trust :yes.  And pretty soon, Cera and the Gang will need to hear about the birds and the bees.  I can't fathom Mr. Threehorn giving his daughter that lecture .  Also, for Cera and Tricia to know she'll always be there for them is invaluable.  Again, since Tria is but a minor character, that's about all I know about her aside from the fact that I really like her as a addition to the LBT series.  I'll post more as I further learn her character.

LBT Fanfiction / The Cold Time

Quote from: Malte279,Feb 27 2008 on  04:26 AM
This is in part because the story sort of "outlived" itself as movies were released meanwhile which strongly contradict "Old Threehorns" (which tells a different story about Littlefoot's dad and features Cera's mother as a character).
Malte, don't be discouraged by what the "official" LBT storyline has been.  Imagination is one of only a few things in life one does not have limitations to.  It is your dream, your story, your idea.  Go for it, man.  Keep on sticking to your fanfic :yes.

The Written Word / Poems That Touch The Heart
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:11:30 AM »
This thread is like the "Music That Touches The Heart" thread.  This time, however, it is poetry y'all relate to or just find touching.  I'll start:

If Tomorrow Never Comes

If I knew it would be the last time
that I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly,
and pray the Lord  your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I'd  see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss,
and call you back for just one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would  tape each word and action,
and play them back throughout my days.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I would spare an extra minute or two,
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming  you know I do.

So just in case tomorrow never comes,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you,
and I hope we never will forget.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
and today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day
that you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss,
and you were too busy to grant
someone, what turned out to be
 their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear, that you
love them very much, and you'll
 always hold them dear.
Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you"
or "It's okay," and if tomorrow
never comes, you'll have no regrets
about today.

Sound Off! / Song That Touch the Heart
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:03:43 AM »
Concrete Angel
She walks to school with the lunch she packed
Nobody knows what she's holdin' back
Wearin' the same dress she wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with linen and lace

The teacher wonders but she doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain behind the mask
Bearing the burden of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was never born

Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where she's loved
Concrete angel

Somebody cries in the middle of the night
The neighbors hear, but they turn out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands of fate
When morning comes it'll be too late

Repeat Chorus

A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot

Repeat Chorus

*Brings me to tears every time.  Poor Judith, our real life concrete angel :cry  :cry.

Starday Wishes / Happy Birthday Mistress Dragon!

What the..?  Wow!  So many stardays, so little time :wow.  Happy starday, Mistress Dragon, and many many more to come :yes.

Here's my cyber present for ya:
Pisces February 19 - March 20
For Thursday, February 28 -One of your current authority figures isn't any wiser than you are in a particular situation -- so do not let them contradict a suggestion of yours that you know will work. There is a good chance that they have gotten a bit lazy about exploring new ideas. They think they know it all, case closed. You can choose to let them go ahead and do what they think is best, or push harder for your idea. But keep in mind that if you don't speak up, you will suffer more than they will.

Starday Wishes / Happy Starday Akida
« on: February 27, 2008, 01:20:35 AM »
Hey y'all, we've got a starday in the GOF house today :D!  Let's give Akida not only a warm return but also happy starday wishes.  BTW Akida, I'm Cancerian Tiger, you're friendly Christian Spiritualist and general goofball :lol.

Here's your horoscope, fellow Pisces:
Work responsibilities will come first today and may find you working a bit of overtime this afternoon. Difficulties, blocks and all manner of hot spots may be discovered. This could mean playing a go-between for a couple of people at work that cannot see eye-to-eye. You will be smart in allowing a higher up to feel they solved the problem. Although this time can be intense at work, you will actually be able to look back on this juncture and see that there was much progress. Many people you come into contact with now, unlike the past, will be in your life for some time to come. Be wise and listen to your inner voice when it comes to spending large amounts of money. A love affair or love relationship may be able to grow more meaningful now.

But most importantly, have a happy starday!

General Land Before Time / Best/Worst Singing Voices.

The voice i dislike the most, maybe a surprise to some, but is cera's.
     ???  I know we all have opinions, but who can dislike Cera's voice?  Her vocals fit choral standards: no breathiness, diction is clear, emotions run strong, confidence... who could want more :slap?  Anyhoo, that's just me.  I love her voice, next one being Ducky's only 'cuz she needs some work on her breath support.  I would also love to hear Tria sing.  She has a pretty speaking voice and a potentially great singing voice.  Now for the negatives.  Mr. Thicknose's voice, well, gets on my nerves when he sings.  I must also admit, Petrie's bad grammar gets in the way at times of potentially good solos on his part <_<.  They also need to work on getting Mr. Threehorn to stop using a metal rockstar sound in LBT songs.  I love rock and am not bashing it whatsoever.  I mean, if all he can do is grunt and roar, they outta have his songs be rock songs.  It would probably fit his personality better :lol.

Hey there, mcr mad (mcr rocks, btw).  Dude, I totally know what most of y'all are talking about in here.  Years back, I had a MAJOR crush on Sonic the Hedgehog.  However, I didn't like how he was attracting all the females (could'nt take the heat, I guess :lol).  Anyhoo, I see nothing wrong with these kinds of crushes as long as one doesn't become too possessive.  I've also had crushes on Littlefoot, Double Dee from Ed, Edd & Eddy, Aladdin, Prince Derek from The Swan Princess, and Beast in human form from Beauty and the Beast (watch out princesses, this Southern bell is comin' in :lol).  BTW mcr mad, Ducky is not only a cute gal but is also very pretty (that is to be taken as a compliment, not a sweet-nothing).  I don't want this to come across as disturbing by any means y'all, but I hope to find a gentleman someday who has Cera's straightforwardness, LF's compassion, Petrie's eccentricity, Spike's courage, and Ducky's love of life.  The Gang all have nice personality traits.  Hmmm.... now to work on Mr. Threehorn.... :lol  :lol)

The song I find I relate the most to is Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams.  Awesome song, y'all ;).

In all honesty, I have mixed feelings about Mr. Threehorn.  One day I see him as a father trying to do his best, the next I wanna kick him into the next galaxy .  I agree with DH on the fact that Cera was once his only daughter around and he is just protective of her.  However, his attitude towards her is too much for one to take.  He seems to not consider what her feelings are, is overbearing, and is too demanding of her.  It sucks to be a perfectionist, and I believe poor Cera is already headed in that direction .  He also sends Cera mixed messages.  In the TV ep "The Great Logrunning Game," he tells an enlightened Cera one minute threehorns can do anything they set their minds to, but then turns around and tells her what her limitations are.  What a jerk !  I don't understand how Tria can have such feelings for him, but I guess that comes with her loving, compassionate nature.  With a kindhearted mentor like Tria around, along with little Tricia, perhaps there is hope Cera will not be entirely influenced by her father :yes.  As far as the twins are concerned, my theory is that Mr. Threehorn has an older daughter somewhere but she most likely has estranged herself from him.  I think he is so hard as a means to shield his vulnerability, and this could be where Cera picked up on that flaw.  In a nutshell, Mr. Threehorn is, like LBTL mentioned, an SOB.  Cera will end up paying for his shortcomings emotionally and possibly mentally, his marriage to Tria may go to the trenches, and Tricia may inherit her mother's personality and wind up becoming a jerk magnet.  Heaven forbid this ever happens, and Lord help them if it does :cry.

Creative writing, eh?  Love the subject :^.^:.  Anyhoo, lemme get to the point.  Happy starday LB&T, and many many more to come.  Since there are two birthdays today, I'll post the following under this one thread:

 Pisces February 19 - March 20
For Monday, February 25 -Fuzzy logic is not going to get you very far today, so if you are trying to get your way in any type of negotiations, don't try to take a short cut. It will only backfire on you. Like it or not, you have got to back things up with research and proof. Sure, it might take a little bit of extra time to gather together the information you need to make your case, but in the end you will thank yourself for doing what it takes to ensure that you are not going to be embarrassed.

Have a good one!   :birthday  :nyah  :yes    :D  ;)  B)
