(Hogwarts, Pottermore)

The Hogwarts Express stopped at the train station just outside the perimeter of Hogwarts. There, rising from the misty moors loomed the great stone castle of Hogwarts. As was usual, the day was overcast, lending the area a forbidding aura.

The chaperones guided the crowd of students down to the docks where several small boats were moored on a black, glassy lake.

Ms. Swimmer looked nervously at them. She wasn't sure if the boat could hold her. Meanwhile, Captain Carson had fallen into the role of instructor and was shepherding "her" students to one of the boats.

Of course, Chong had Myaardi to be an attractive site for his search for magical weaponry and other artifacts. But rather obviously, he had dispatched a second team with a shuttle containing a rather specialized piece of equipment known as a nanolathe, purchased (or more likely stolen) from somewhere in the Polaris Galaxy. This piece of equipment, when connected to an appropriately equipped storage container and provided with the proper plans was capable of making anything from vehicles to tools.

As such, the team had settled somewhere in one of the far corners of Myaardi and were busy building a base to start searching. Of course, the base was very primitive. Just the shuttle and some personnel aboard some lightly armed dune buggies and robotic miners fanning out to explore the plain they were located on as well as to dig for resources. Of course, like much of the land in Myaardi there were already some substantial openings in the ground that just needed some expansion and could potentially lead to a cave or other such areas.

----------------------------

Kire had led Deimos, Mr. Bigmouth and the others to banquet hall in the Daybloom Inn. As there was no true conference room, this location would have to do as one.

"Now," Kire began. "Myaardi is not an exceptionally large world but it is very rich in terms of locations. We have to decide where to start. I previously mentioned the underworld since it is rich in hellstone, an eternally burning rock that produces lava when it is mined and is useful in the making of armor and weapons. And from what you have told me of Chong, he is likely to look for materials he can craft into weapons as well as weapons themselves."

"What about the surface?" Mr. Bigmouth asked. "Depending on the conditions of the underworld, we may not be able to join you. And getting there is likely a difficult task. We can scour the surface while you explore the underworld, given that you know this planet the best."

The solar knight held a gauntleted hand to his chin. "Well, I can take you the entrance of the underworld. And we can go from there?"

"And where is the entrance?"

"In town."

There was the sound of glass shattering as the Royal Flush Gang crashed through the decorative glass dome of the museum. Guests chattered amongst themselves and tried to run for the exits. Only to be halted by Jack and Queen on their platforms. Queen's electric scepter crackled with energy as she smiled. "Where are your manners? Don't you know it's rude to walk out on royalty?" The guests stepped back.

"Now, everyone, hand over the valuables!" King brandished his sword at the guests. The flying platform he was bobbed slightly as he gave a slight nod of the head as a signal for 10 to start breaking into the cases and swiping the valuables.

Inque had returned to Gabriel's RV after her attempt on Terry and Stripetail had failed. Needless to say, she was very displeased.

"I paid you millions of dollars and sweeten the deal with precious metals and you still screw it up!?" Gabriel shouted as she practically shook with rage. "I have half a mind to hire someone from the Society of Assassins to take those two out! And you with them so I get my money back!"

The stylized humanoid that was Inque ripped slightly and became an attractive woman...albeit one with smoky grey skin and hair. "I will try again," she said.

"You'd better. And don't come back until those two are dead!" Gabriel shouted as she exited the meeting room of the RV, slamming the door in the process.

Thanks to toon logic, the RV was far larger than the its simple size suggested. Indeed, she had entered a small factory where Dip and various other ordnance was being manufactured. She rubbed her forehead as she pondered a way to sabotage the games.

(Ministry of Magic)

Auror Murgan saluted and exited Minister Fudge's office. He narrowed his eyes as he looked at the image of Captain Carson. Something in the pit of his stomach told him that "witch" was not what she seemed. A faint popping noise was heard as he Disapparated.

-------------------

(Hogsmeade)

Captain Carson arrived just as the train's whistle sounded, warning those riding the Hogwarts Express had ten minutes before the train left...with or without them. Falling into her role as instructor, she called out. "The train will be leaving in ten minutes! All my students must have their their standard Crestwood textbooks as well as as the required supplies required of Hogwarts! That includes wands and potion equipment!"

The communications equipment was set up in Mr. Bigmouth's and Deimos's room. There was a knock on the door.

Mr. Bigmouth opened it to find Kire, clad in his solar armor. The solar knight spoke. "I was informed about a anomaly in the underworld. I have informed Ratchet already."

Deimos tilted his head. "Is that a literal location?"

"It's the name we used referring to a very deep underground location with a large amount of lava."

When Captain Carson and her group were out of sight, the "stray cat" morphed into lean man with striking red hair as well as a red beard. He jotted down some notes on a notepad with a quill and then with a quiet pop, he Disapparated.

Little did the group know that they had just been spotted by one of Minister Fudge's spies.

-------------------------

Ms. Swimmer nodded. "Hopefully Captain Carson will arrive soon. It would be very bad if the train left and stranded her here." She shuddered. If it was revealed Captain Carson was actually a Muggle, the consequences could be dire. At best, they'd be banned from Hogsmeade. At worst, a memory wipe or even execution was possible. After all, this was a world that had a strong bias against non-mages.

The Saurolophus touched her wooden staff. Her visiting instructor pass was a rolled up scroll tucked inside a pocket of her robe. The staff at the office had bought her story about being a water magic instructor at the Vesuvio School of Dragon Studies. The forged ID from that school — courtesy of Stripetail's magic — helped as well.

Mr. Bigmouth and Deimos were rooming together in one of the Daybloom Inn's rooms.

"F---," Deimos said, shucking his armor and placing it on a nearby armor stand. "Where are we going to find Chong?"

Mr. Bigmouth started digging in his messenger bag as he started to set up his communications gear for communicating with the shuttle, which would then relay it over to the communications equipment aboard Spire of Winter, which would they relay it to Stripetail or Captain Carson. "We'd have to follow Kire's lead. He's the one who likely knows where all the powerful artifacts and weapons aboard this planet are."

King checked his watch. He scowled. 10 should be arriving any moment soon. He along with Queen, Jack and Ace were hidden on the roof of an office building near the museum. If they peered over the side, they had a clear view of the museum's central glass dome. Their playing card themed "flying carpets" were resting on the roof and were ready to take off.

"Sorry, Dad, I got caught up in something." King turned around and saw the distinctive half-black, half-white costume of 10.

"This is something that demands urgent timing," King said. "We cannot wait for you to show up." He looked at his watch and nodded. "And now, we move!"

Silently, all members of the Royal Flush Gang boarded their playing card themed flying platforms and took off for the museum.

The study session went smoothly with Melanie struggling slightly with physics but Max's explanation had proved far more enlightening than the classes. She looked at the clock on the wall.

"Oh my gosh!" Melanie exclaimed. "It's a little past two hours! Dad's going to pissed if I show up too late! Thanks, Dana, Max for the study session!" She quickly packed up her school supplies and darted out of the house, stopping briefly to bid Mr. Tan farewell.

Hopping in her car and pulling out of the driveway, she drove out of their neighborhood and into Neo-Gotham itself. She only hoped she could make a quick stop to discreetly change into her 10 outfit.

Daybloom Inn was a simple, rustic but homey building with simple adornments of carvings as well as some paintings of the various scenes. There was even an attached pub that served simple, hearty and filling meals to travelers.

"Reminds me of the Inglorious Hotel but a lot nicer," Deimos said as he looked around.

"Welcome, I have heard that you wish to book a room," the man at the front desk said.

"News travels fast," the Utahraptor muttered under his breath.

"Very well," Captain Carson said as she began the long walk back to town accompanied by the group. A stray cat wandering along the tracks watched the group. Perhaps a little too intently for a stray.

---------------

Ms. Swimmer looked around. She could see people mingling as they browsed the vendors of Hogsmeade. She recognized Stripetail, Dulcy and Samia.

She finished off her bag of Every Flavor Beans. Thankfully, the last jelly bean was a refreshing lemonade flavor. "Has anyone seen Captain Carson?" she asked.

As Stripetail's spell would not take immediate effect (and Captain Carson was far away enough that Muggle Repelling Charm no longer affected her), Ember's group had caught easily caught up with her. The woman then looked at the group. "The candies should not be that expensive. Or is there a limit that prevents you from buying all three types?"

The whole situation looked incredibly strange with a tall woman dressed in an immaculate bottle green robe with the classic conical wizard's hat walking alongside a railroad track in the middle of the moors and accompanied by what appeared to be two dragons and some unknown horned creature. Luckily, there was no one around except for the group.

-----------------------

Ms. Swimmer was enjoying some of the Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans. She coughed as one of the beans she ate turned out to be "oil paint" flavored. She spat out the offending candy and hastily took a pull from her bottle of butterbeer in an attempt to kill the taste.

At the same time, she looked around Hogsmeade. As was usual, people were wandering around and enjoying the sights of the town.

The solar javelin Kire was holding vanished. "There's an inn called the Daybloom Lodge. You've probably passed by it."

"It's right by my favorite fishing spot!" Jimmy piped up as he placed his strange acid shooting fish back in its tank.

At the mention of Chong and magical signals, the solar knight nodded. "I see, I shall assist you in any way possible."

(OOC - I thought Nick Wilde was back on the Spire. I guess with his talent for hustling and sneaking, he managed to sneak something to Stripetail while they were at Hogsmeade.)

(Pottermore)

Hogsmeade was a beautiful rustic village set in the moors near Hogwarts. The Hogwarts Express had stopped there to refill its fuel tender and water supply. In addition, that break also allowed the students and staff to walk around and enjoy some fresh air.

“Lord Stripetail, I must return to the ship immediately,” Captain Carson said as she disembarked the train. “The paperwork for the ship has not been properly filed. I will meet you back there.” She then started walking alongside the railroad track.

Ms. Swimmer scratched her muzzle. “That’s very unlike Captain Carson,” she said. “I hope she’s not having a mental breakdown or something.”

(Myaardi)

The last of the goblins had fled under a hail of solar javelins thrown by Kire.

He then turned to the group from the Spire. “So, what brings you to this planet?” he asked.

Captain Carson quickly racked her mind as to what spell to produce. She resorted to browsing a book that a student had left behind when they went to go to the bathroom. In the end, she simply settled on the simplest of simple spells: Lumos. She gripped her custom made Weyardian stardust wand. The wand itself was a warm, pale-gold metallic rod that glowed with its own inner fire. Her skin tingled from where it made contact with the metal but it wasn't unpleasant.

"Lumos," Captain Carson said. As she lacked magic (or even an artificial magic core that was the product of some of Lord Stripetail's magical disguises), she didn't expect too much.

What she was not expecting was the magic from Pottermore to interact with the Weyardian stardust's own magic and produce a blinding flash of white light.

A strange nagging sensation in the back of her head told her that there was something she had to do back at the Spire. Little did she know that as the train approached Hogsmeade, she would begin to feel the effects of the Muggle Repelling Charms in place.

In an effort to boost goodwill with Neo Gotham, some of Stripetail's artifacts and treasure were on display at the Gotham Museum of Arts. Thanks to their extremely high value and potentially dangerous nature, they were under heavy guard from both Gotham PD and Stripetail's own retinue. Regardless, many patrons admired the artifacts the Seer had amassed over his milleneia of experience. Everything ranging from a ceremonial mawashi presented to him by the god-king of Mawashi, Ozai to the exotic metal wands gifted to him by a certain Captain Carson were on display.

Of course, not all the patrons were benign. One of them was a burly well-dressed man admiring a green levitating statuette whose placard stated that it was from Weyard and carved from a single piece of zol, a material unique to that planet that naturally levitated. This was King, patriarch of the Royal Flush Gang.

----------------------------

The outskirts of Neo Gotham were what could charitably called "a mess". Blammo's bombing spree had reduced many buildings to burnt out hulks and made construction nearly impossible thanks to all the ordnance left behind. Pfish and Chip as well as the DZ. Blammo had been captured and was now safely stowed inside DZ's armored hull but the trio were still busy cleaning up after him.

"That f---ing clown!" Chip shouted, kicking an ash covered lump of concrete down the road.

"Well, we are getting paid to clean this up," Pfish replied.

"We've spent the past few weeks trying to catch him! And every time we disarm one of his bombs, he goes and blows something else up!"

DZ then interrupted as he reached inside his armored compartment and pulled out the aforementioned clown, now tightly wrapped in his own clothes. "Well, we have him and all we have to do is deliver him." The clown was then unceremoniously shoved back into the compartment.

The Hogwarts Express began to approach the school itself and the massive lake that the giant squid called home. The school was enchanted to hide it from Muggles.

While everyone was marveling at the great castle, all Captain Carson could see was a decrepit warehouse situated out in the country with a sign that stated the building had been damaged by fire and it was slated for demolition. She then nudged Spyro. "Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" she whispered. "I overheard people saying it's a castle but all I see is some s----- burnt out warehouse."

Unbeknownst to her, Muggle Repelling Charms has also been set up but the train was not close enough for her to feel the effects.

Deimos took up a position atop one of the walls and started sniping the goblins. He stared as boulder teleported out of a boulder statue and crushed several goblins.

The humanoid cyborg was next to him and fighting with a deadly combination of rockets and grenades. Both of which were fired from his arm mounted cannon.

"Does this happen often?" Deimos asked, shooting a goblin trying to breach one of the houses.

"Define often." A rocket intercepted a shadowflame apparition that was launched from a summoner standing in midair a few hundred feet from them.

----------------------

The dark skinned man, who gave his name as Brimst, was fighting alongside Ratchet. His bizarre shark gun proved to be surprisingly effective as a torrent of bullets tore into the approaching goblins

A flaming spear plunged from the sky and skewered a goblin who was flying over them and trying to draw a bead on Ratchet with a harpoon gun.

----------------------

Inside the castle, there was combat as goblins had broken down one of the doors. And everyone got involved. Even those who were the least expected to fight. Most striking was a man in a red hat who gave his name as Edgar and who stated that he specialized in clothing. A goblin who got too close to him learned that the hard way when a skull made of purple flame shot forth from his hand and burned the goblin with the same weapon they had used — the supernatural purple fire known as shadowflame. In particular, they seemed to have a particular distaste for one of the goblins who was standing on of the balconies and lobbing spiked balls at the invaders. Alongside him was a woman in a yellow jumpsuit who was using her wrench to bat away any projectiles.

Even the youngest member, Jimmy was helping to defend the castle as he alternated between throwing frost daggerfish and using some grotesque fish as an acid cannon. He ducked under the balcony as a harpoon crashed into the wall next to him. He peered out from between the banister and squeezed the fish's side, causing a bubble of acid that drifted towards the harpoon gunner...and burst, showering the goblin with acid.

Captain Carson was reading an issue of the Daily Prophet. The main article was regarding the increased security in Diagon Alley and a possible ban on the parents of Muggleborn mages.

Once Harry, Ron and Hermione had left, Captain Carson looked at the note. Written on it were the names, "Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter". She narrowed her eyes. Perhaps those three could help her. In retrospect, she should have checked the note earlier but but she didn't want to attract attention. Hopefully, the window for gathering allies hadn't closed.

"Captain Carson, we need to come up for a story for you," Ms. Swimmer said, sipping a cup of tea.

"That's a good point," Captain Carson said. "Unfortunately, my knowledge of magic is superficial so it has to be something that doesn't require an in-depth knowledge."

Inque had seen The Seer stop the collapse of an entire building so she simply reverted to liquid form and dripped down the back side of the ruined building. Once inside the alleyway, she took the form of a small black dog and scampered out into the street.

Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered in awe of the sheer power Stripetail displayed. Of course, they assumed him to be another superhero.

Seeing as they were in seemingly safe territory, Ms. Swimmer lowered her the hood of her robe, revealing her saurian muzzle and otherwise inhuman features. Deciding that she should come up with a cover story, she spoke up. "I am from Vesuvio as well. As my name cannot be pronounced by Humans, I am often referred to as 'Ms. Swimmer', a literal translation of my name."

Captain Carson simply watched and remained silent. She decided that observing first was a wiser course of action than immediately coming up with a cover story like Ms. Swimmer did.

A young woman pushing a cart full of assorted pastries and snacks — magical and mundane — walked down the aisle. She called out what wares she had and their price.

Inque saw Stripetail and Batman. She was now in her stylized combat form — a faceless black humanoid. "Decided to bring a friend along?" she said. "No matter, I'll kill him as well!"

Her arms extended into spikes and shot towards Batman and Stripetail at alarming speed...only to splash harmlessly into liquid against Stripetail's shield. Seeing as that was useless, she again took a liquid form and darted into the scaffolding. The snapping and creaking of stressed metal was heard as she forced her way into the metal scaffolding and expanded, tearing them apart and causing the structure to precariously lean.

Captain Carson checked the note. To her surprise, the note simply read "Board Hogwarts Express".

"I guess that's what we do then?" she muttered.

"Couldn't hurt," Ms. Swimmer said. She then headed towards the train, taking care not to bump into the students who were boarding. Captain Carson followed the large dinosaur.

Unfortunately, tickets for the Hogwarts Express were not sold as the invitation letter sent to prospective students also pulled double duty as the ticket. Captain Carson looked around and noticed that no one was selling tickets nor did she see any ticket machines. "We'll have to try something else, Gabumon," she whispered. "It doesn't look like they use tickets."

"What now, do we sneak aboard?" Ms. Swimmer asked.

"I'd prefer less...troublesome methods first." The woman looked at Stripetail to see if he'd weigh in on the conundrum.
