This song always cuts pretty deep for me. I went through some tough stuff a few years ago, and when this song came out later that year, it was a dead ringer for the stuff I went through. As a result I'm pretty attached to it. Even though I can still feel the damage from those times... :rhett_sad

Lose You To Love Me - Selena Gomez

You promised the world and I fell for it
I put you first and you adored it
Set fires to my forest
And you let it burn
Sang off-key in my chorus
'Cause it wasn't yours
I saw the signs and I ignored it
Rose-colored glasses all distorted
Set fire to my purpose
And I let it burn
You got off on the hurtin'
When it wasn't yours, yeah

We'd always go into it blindly
I needed to lose you to find me
This dancing was killing me softly
I needed to hate you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me

I gave my all and they all know it
You turned me down and now it's showing
In two months, you replaced us
Like it was easy
Made me think I deserved it
In the thick of healing, yeah

We'd always go into it blindly
I needed to lose you to find me
This dancing was killing me softly
I needed to hate you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me

You promised the world and I fell for it
I put you first and you adored it
Set fires to my forest
And you let it burn
Sang off-key in my chorus

To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to hate you to love me, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
I needed to lose you to love me
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
And now the chapter is closed and done
To love, love, yeah
To love, love, yeah
To love, yeah
And now it's goodbye, it's goodbye for us

Silver Screen / Re: Favorite Animated Film
« on: April 01, 2022, 04:32:28 PM »
Well for starters, there's The Land Before Time and some of its sequels, but that's obvious lol :p

Ever since I was a kid, Aladdin was always one of my favorites. Robin Williams was a blast to watch, Jafar was a great and entertaining villain, and Jasmine was a super likable love interest who I still love now. There were many times I caught myself humming "A Whole New World" as a kid :lol Oliver and Company is another Disney one I have a soft spot for. Huey Lewis' opening song is way too underrated. And there's Billy Joel! :petrieLOL

After doing a Pixar marathon recently though, I think Soul and Luca are my current favorite animated movies. Soul for its sharp writing, relatable dilemmas and overall ethereal feel that I just can't get enough of. Luca is a more personal case to me, so I can't go into too much detail, but I just REALLY love its overall beauty, coziness and I got pretty choked up at the ending. This movie made me really wanna visit Italy and buy a Vespa lol :PLoofah

Silver Screen / Re: What are you looking forward to?
« on: April 01, 2022, 04:15:54 PM »
Currently I'm super excited about Lightyear, the Buzz Lightyear origin story. I've absolutely loved the past 5 Pixar movies, Soul and Luca being my two favorite films period, and I'm confident they'll blow me away again with this new one! :petrieLOL

There's also new seasons of Total Drama on their way and I'm really excited to see where they'll go. The Ridonculous Race was the best installment of the series so far and I hope the writers are still at the top of their game from that. I'm pretty confident it's gonna be a great time! :smile

I have quite a few options here. Pinkie Pie (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) for the parties and cupcakes, Marinette Dupain-Cheng (Miraculous Ladybug) for the laughs, fun and fashion, and Cody (Total Drama) simply because I think our personalities would mesh well together.

But I think Caitlin Cooke (6teen) is my ultimate choice because I just love her so dang much. She's just so sweet, nice and fun, and I've just always really wanted a friend like her in real life. She's so wholesome :DD I love her! Though honestly, I'd love to be friends with any of the 6teen main cast. Caitlin's just on top for me though, along with Jen

Tricia's my favorite character because not only is she super cute (and super PINK! :Mo ), but she's also just...really pleasant. In many media, I tend to be annoyed by baby characters, but Tricia avoids the typical trappings. She's very loving and gentle towards her big sister (in contrast with the more rambunctious Dinah and Dana from VI) and family (evidently taking a lot from her mother rather than grumpy old Mr. Threehorn lol), and is very friendly and playful with Cera's friends too. See "The Bright Circle Celebration", where, while Cera snorted at the titular festival, Tricia was pretty quickly on board with the idea along with her mother. There's also the fact that she's a pretty fast learner - it's not long from her birth that she learns how to run (as Tria and Threehorn were so excited over), and later in "The Days of Rising Waters" she learns to swim as well. Tricia's a character I'd like to see more of - I like seeing her interact with characters, be a nice little kid, and simply just be cute. And the fact that "Cera!" was her first word was really heartwarming too. Just a feel-good character overall, fitting in quite well with an overall feel-good series! :DD

Character Discussion / Re: Top 10 favourite Characters
« on: April 01, 2022, 03:50:45 PM »
1.   Tricia: Simply put, a baby character done RIGHT. Likable, good-hearted, surprisingly intelligent (learns quickly), and acts like a little, little kid WITHOUT making me want to slam my head through the nearest window.
2.   Ducky: Always been a big favorite of mine. Cute and optimistic, super nice, and just overall someone I'd love to befriend in real life. Yep yep yep!  :duckyOK
3.   Hyp: DON’T YOU FORGET. WHAT YOU WANT YOU GET.
4.   Redclaw: Put down the chainsaws! I know he's not the most popular Sharptooth, but I for one find him very interesting. What made him so infamous among the Mysterious Beyond to the point he’s even a threat to other sharpteeth? I hope to see this in a potential second season of the TV series.
5.   Littlefoot: Wasn't always a big fan, but he grew on me in time. I like how loyal, social and easy-going he is. :)littlefoot And in Movie V, he and Chomper were by far the best characters when everyone else seemed to be taking jerk pills.
6.   Pterano: British pterosaur. That is all :PteranoPlotting
7.   Spike: I really like how he became his own character over the movies, being a goofy food-lover rather than just ‘Ducky’s nestmate’. And as a lazy Big Eater myself, he's one of the characters I can relate to most easily. :^^spike
8.   Tippy: A completely friendly, likable little spiketail who will do anything for Spike. I've just always had a soft spot for the little guy
9.   Tria: I like Tricia, so of course I like her mother as well. It’s pretty clear who the little threehorn took most from ;)
10.   Chomper: The cute Sharptooth himself. :chomper I’d like him more if he weren’t in some of my absolute least favorite parts of this series…but aye, what can you do? :ChomperBurned

Land Before Time Captions / Re: Pterano's Speech
« on: April 01, 2022, 03:38:50 PM »
Pterano: Sister, it’s your duty to take the day off work. No…it’s your destiny.
Sierra: Destiny?
Rinkus: He’s on a roll.
Pterano: Calling in sick is like a necessary part of the evolutionary process.
Petrie’s mom: What are you talking about?
Pterano: Where would flyers be without the sick day? We’d still be living on the ground eating ground stars and crawlers and things…We’re flyers because millions of years ago, some reptile took a day off and invented wings. That reptile decided, “I’m not looking for crawlers today, I’m gonna climb to the top of that tree and see if I can make it to the other side of the forest in a single jump. Next thing you know, we’re golfing in the Great Valley! Which further illustrates my point because like even at this point where flyers were pulling this massive journey to a promised land, they recognized the opportunity for goofing off! It’s like, “One small step for flyer…Dude, let’s fly a few donuts through the sky puffies!” The sick day isn’t just a fun thing to do, it’s a fundamental right of every man, woman and hatchling!

General Land Before Time / Re: WORST LBT Song Ever!
« on: April 01, 2022, 03:16:38 PM »
I'm usually pretty lenient towards the songs, but there are some that rub me the wrong way. Some of the songs I don’t like are:

You’re One of Us Now – Given the way Cera and the others proceed to act towards Chomper after one “oops-eeps”, it just makes them kinda look like jerks :petrienotamused
Grandma’s Lullaby – Sorry y'all :oops Yeah I know this is a well-liked one, but honestly it just sounds pretty rough. R E P E A T I N G
The original version of Friends for Dinner - Just felt really unpleasant and mean-spirited towards Chomper on the gang's behalf. The TV series one is more fun and generally pleasant since by now they've embraced Chomper completely.
On Your Own – Littlefoot, for as much as he likes spending time with his friends, shouldn’t turn into a blubbering wreck just because he’s alone. Everyone needs their alone time after all. Plus it just bored me :areyouserious
Imaginary Friends – It’s an okay song, but I have to agree it doesn’t show much point with the rest of the movie. Not to mention those turtles take WAY too much offense to what Cera says about a concept they only just heard of :lol
How Do You Know? – So boring it put the yellowbellies to sleep. You have to be a special kind of boring to bore THEM :doofahCringe
Today’s the Day – Even LITTLEFOOT forgot this song the moment he stopped singing it! :rolleye
Hot and Stinky - *gross joke goes here*
Better Off Alone – Alice Deejay you are not.

877
From these, I picked Tippy. I always had a soft spot for the cute little guy ever since I watched VIII, and "The Forbidden Friendship", the episode he showed up in, is one of my favorites from the show. :^^spike Though in general, I'd rather see Chomper's parents and Pterano - but I feel like they'd need new movies of their own to make the most of their potential screentime. The TV series really needed a pilot movie...why it didn't get one I'll never know. :neutral

General Land Before Time / Re: Getting to know you - LBT Style
« on: April 01, 2022, 02:10:07 PM »
1.)  Most liked Land Before Time character – Tricia, because she’s just a great, great baby character. Very cute, never annoying, and overall just really likable and sweet to watch. Ducky is my favorite of the main characters, and I’m also fond of Hyp.

2.)  Least liked Land Before Time character – I’m not one of those people who coughs blood over the Yellowbellies – I actually have a soft spot for those imbecilic buggers. :PLoofah Honestly, there aren’t many characters I really hate. I’m not best keen on Doc for being bland as badgers and being a bit of a jerk in the TV series…but oh well. Also Cera was nigh abusive in her behavior in some of the earlier movies, especially towards Chomper :areyouserious - though she's better in others. I'd say Rhett too, but thanks to all the jokes here, I just can't hate the guy anymore  :rhett_smile :bestsharptooth

3.)  Most liked Land Before Time song – I think I’m gonna say “Flip Flap and Fly”. It’s just pure fun from beginning to end and after all of Petrie’s struggles in the movie, it’s great to finally see him happy. :petrieLOL “No-One Has to Be Alone” is also a favorite of mine.

4.)  Least liked Land Before Time song – I’m not fond of “Better Off Alone”, partially because of it essentially amounting to ‘Littlefoot throws a paddy and sings about it’…but also because it shares the same title as a legendary eurodance track. To say the least, it casts a looooong shadow. :p

5.)  Most liked Land Before Time film – I for having the Bluth touch, a great dark edge and a nice look at grief, VII for having one of the most original and fun plots, VIII for Ducky and Spike development, and XII for Petrie development, great songs, and introducing my favorite character.

6.)  Least liked Land Before Time film – I wasn’t really thrilled with The Secret of Saurus Rock. The luck subplot (except the excellent “Bad Luck”) kind of irritated me and I didn’t care for Doc or the “On Your Own” song. The second half of The Mysterious Island also rubbed me the wrong way. Don’t get me wrong, I really like Chomper, but the way everyone but Littlefoot treated him was just really unfair and hard to watch. :sducky I honestly prefer the version of “Friends for Dinner” from the TV series lol

7.)  Most memorable Land Before Time moment – That scene in the first one where Littlefoot asks his mom if she’s ever seen the Great Valley and then there’s a pause as she sloooowly cranes her neck towards him…then bluntly says “No :neutral” Cracks me up. :lol

The Welcome Center / Yo! What's happenin'?
« on: April 01, 2022, 11:03:42 AM »
I was bored one evening, and decided to return to this site because I lurked here over many many years thanks to a childhood fixation on these movies. And I finally decided to join!  :smile

I’ve always been pretty fond of these movies. Though movies I, VII, VIII and XII are my favorites. In terms of favorite characters, for many years it was Ducky, but lil baby Tricia slowly stole that spot for herself. I’m a sucker for pink cute things :p Though there’s more to it than that, but I’ll get to that in other threads.

My other interests include 6teen. I LOVE 6teen! For those not in the know, 6teen is a Canadian cartoon from Nelvana and FreshTV (the latter company would later go on to make Total Drama) starring six lovable teens hanging out in a mall. I’d highly suggest checking the show out if you’re into slice-of-life cartoons with a teenage edge. The show got me through some tough times, and I owe it a lot. (Especially thanks to a certain blonde fashion junkie lol)

I have other interests too. I'm very into Pixar, after marathoning their movies over the past two months (Soul and Luca being my favorites from them). And I love FreshTV's other works like Total Drama and Stoked. I like listening to music and I also try writing fanfics, usually for 6teen, on occasion (I don't usually get very far oops).

IDK how to close this post off. But, I'm here now! Yay me I guess  :PLoofah Hope we can have a good time together here!  :rainbowwave
