The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

General Land Before Time / Question about early Land Before Time figures
« on: November 18, 2010, 12:21:31 PM »
Hmm I don't see exactly what I was thinking of (I'm actually now starting to think they were just generic dinosaur figures, I found something saying Wendy's had a 'Definitely Dinosaurs' toy line in 1988).

But there are a few cute sets in the link you sent.  What toys are in the picture 4th from the bottom, labeled 'Figures of Chomper, Spike, Littlefoot and Cera' ?

Thanks again!

General Land Before Time / Question about early Land Before Time figures
« on: November 18, 2010, 03:35:51 AM »
I was a young child when the original Land Before Time was first released, and my favorite toys were LBT figures that were a promotional item in some restaurant's variant of the kid's meal. I remember my dad and I driving around to every instance of this chain in the city, trying to collect them all. Two decades and many many moves later and I don't have the first clue what happened to them. I'm thinking about children of my own now and how I'd like to find another set for them (and my own sense of nostalgia) so I've been looking online - but I can't for the life of me find the first trace of them! It's like they never existed!

I don't remember the exact year they came out, but my guess is between 1988 and 1990. They were just normal action figures - not handpuppets, not windup toys, not bobbleheads, etc. My dad thinks they came from Burger King, and I think they came from Wendy's - but neither idea has gotten any positive results. They're definitely not the 1988 Pizza Hut hand puppets, nor the 1997 Burger King wind up toys, nor the 2003 Wendy's bobbleheads / banks / whatevers. I'm amazed I haven't found a single picture nor mention of them after hours and hours of Google-ing - if my parents didn't also remember them, I'd probably think I just imagined them at this point.

Any information on these elusive toys (restaurant, year, pictures, place to purchase, etc.) Would be GREATLY appreciated! :)
