Aks me qestions.        

For the past 3 years, my job has been bagging groceries and cleaning at a grocery store. It's not the greatest, but it's better than having no job at all, though.

 It's part-time and the pay is only $8.75 per hour. about $14,000 per year for me.  And i'm not a high-school aged teenager. I am 25 years old now. I still feel that I have made no real progress since 18. And that the last 7 years have been a total waste (other than moving to Florida 4 years ago.)

I just hope I can get a better paying job in the future to get my life going better. I definitely do not earn enough money to live on my own, and i'm still with my mom and dad.     I'm sorry, guys. I feel bad. My one life is passing me up year by year. I do not like the direction my life is going in now. Yeah living in Florida is great, but not having my own car, or having enough money to live on my own, and never having a full time job ever before, really sucks.

I'm still living with my parents. I have no real in-person friends, i've never had a girlfriend either and I feel that my life is passing me up, and that i'm losing at the game of life. I feel bad and really behind. And when i'm at home, I still do feel stuck and that I can only do things my parents approve of as long as i'm still living with them.

I feel that 2008-2014 have been 7 wasted years of my 1 life that I will never get back.

I think that "normal" 25 year old guys do live on their own, have decent jobs, have friends, and some even have girlfriends.

I did not put a vote in because I honestly wouldn't think LBT would be better if Dino was in the gang, yet I wouldn't mind it either. For once, the Flintstone family will be rid of him!  I think he would get along well with Spike.

I think the Gang would love him, and sometimes be annoyed by him. However,  I can't see him in as a full member of the Gang. He's a dog ( a fun and smart dog, but a dog noetheless) in the guise of a dinosaur, just as the LBT dinosaurs are people in the guise of dinosaurs, and pet dinosaurs in the Land Before Time would be awkward, kind of going against the anti-speciest message of the franchise. 

On the other hand, this anti-speciesm is of limited reach, since sharpteeth in general, apart from Chomper, are called mean and stupid by members of the Gang, so maybe a dinosaur species that was presented as simplistic from the beginning could serve as a kind of pet. But I still see introducing this in LBT as quite a stretch.

It could be that the folks who made the movie thought that would be a catchy title. It can also be before mammals and birds were the main dominant life forms, instead of dinosaurs since during the time of the dinosaurs mammals were mainly shrew sized and birds had either not evolved yet or maybe only a few.

I think in many translations to other languages the title is changed slightly because it is difficult to get the gist of the English title across in other languages. The German title would translate to the slightly more specific "In a land before our time".

The Dutch title would translate to "The land before we started counting the years", so pretty much before humans were around So I think Malte is right.

The phrase "before time" is a hyperbole, and it is supposed to mean a great, immeasurably distant age. Hyperbole is a figure of speech, and figures of speech as used to make a sentence more unusual, making it easier to remember (this is the reason why this title was made), or to say more in less words, which is useful for refering to common knowledge in epic poetry for example.

Oh, and in Croatian it is translated as "Land of the distant past", while in Serbian it appears as both "Land of the distant past", and "Land before time".

Upon further examination "before time" is both a hyperbole and an oxymoron, which makes it doubly interesting. A very clever title.

Personally, I always thought it meant "before time was really understood". But it's made pretty clear in all the movies that it is.

Do you know the first movie was originally going to be called "The Land Before Time Began"? I actually like that better. I think that's what they should name the possible CGI remake. (Which is just a theory now, but could happen some day! )
