I was holding off on posting for Cera, as I think her skeptical comments would best be heard later on in Ruby's story.

Since I also play Guido, it only makes sense to hold off as well until he can have a more organic introduction.

This is something I felt was sort of tricky about having an established posting order. It makes it difficult to have a character speak up (or not) at the best moments. Personally, I think the only reason we would need to establish a specific posting order would be if the activity in this RP picked up a lot more and we needed to prevent anyone from falling too far behind.

This whole comic was very impressive, Flathead! :Mo You drew every single frame of it so well, I've really got to hand it to you for finishing the whole story (and with time to spare)!

Well, I was trying to write something for the "Hidden" prompt, but it evolved into something longer than I originally intended, so I won't be finishing it in time to actually be featured in the showcase. Oh, well. :p

@Flathead770 Thanks! :DD And yeah, I get that humanization art isn't everyone's thing. Truth be told, it's usually more fun drawing it yourself than it is looking at someone else's, haha.

@Goldenwind Thank you! I got that idea for Shorty early on in drawing that picture, and I knew it had to be done! :lol

Well, here's my entry for this month's fanart prompt! It's unusual for me to leave a drawing uncolored, but I did it here since I was trying to mimic newspaper comic strip style.

P.S. Um, some of you might wonder why Nod wasn't in that last scene. Uh...I'm pretty sure he got so bored that he left a while ago which has nothing to do with the fact that he's very hard to draw. :p

Land Before Time RPG / Re: It came from Beyond the Mysterious Beyond

Meanwhile, in a lush, green valley on the planet below, a group of young dinosaurs had gathered for a storytelling session under the glow of the crescent moon.

"It always started on a night like this one, beneath a sky full of stars..."

As she began a new tale, with the light of the magma ridge along the ground providing the  perfect glow for a dramatic ambience, Ruby lifted her hands towards the heavens for emphasis.

"Some would see strange lights, others would hear strange sounds, but in every account, something strange would accompany the arrival..." Ruby continued, trailing off for effect as she turned her gaze towards her audience. "The arrival...of the SKY BEINGS!"

1988 Theatrical Release / Re: The Elusive Illustrated Storybook
« on: June 21, 2020, 04:03:48 PM »
Whoa, I had no idea this book was so "elusive." I have it, and I honestly can't even remember where I got it from or when (I know it wasn't when the movie was originally released)! I also have the 3D comic book with the new character named Avie and some TV series picture books, so if anyone is interested in seeing those, I'd be happy to take pictures.

@RainbowFaceProtege: Please do. I'd love to see them. :)

After writing that comment, I tried to take pictures, but they didn't turn out very good. It looks like I'm going to have to use a scanner for this. Now I just have to get around to actually doing it sometime... :rolleyes

@rhombus Hmm, somehow I missed that Cera wasn't claimed yet. In that case, thanks for taking her! ;)Cera

@Goldenwind That works for me! Your response was the one I was holding out on posting over, since I was wondering if you planned to start the story with Al. :p Go right ahead! :)

Hmm...I don't know what I think yet, tbh. :olittlefoot

But there are more new videos now, one to introduce each Mane Six character. Interesting that Fancy Pants appears in Rarity's into for a second--now, if they include him, but leave out characters like the CMC or Discord, I'm gonna be really disappointed.

Here's the playlist!

Okay, after a few days with no further discussion, I'm gonna assume what we name this thing doesn't matter all that much to anyone. :p I'm just gonna go with Goldenwind's suggestion, "It Came From Beyond the Mysterious Beyond," unless anyone suddenly says otherwise.
Is it okay if I go ahead and kick this off? :)littlefoot Similar to the original RP, I was going to begin with Ruby telling a story about "Sky Beings"/Rainbow Faces.

I finished another humanization drawing today! This time, we've got the guest characters from Journey of the Brave and The Great Longneck Migration...knowing that, you can probably figure out who's who. :DD Tell me your favorite!

It's going pretty good. My comic is just one page, so it shouldn't be much trouble to finish. :)petrie

@Goldenwind Yep, of course we'll be keeping up this discussion as the RP unfolds. Don't want to be flying blind! :OhYou

I don't think "It Came from Beyond the Mysterious Beyond" is a bad name, either. :) (I personally didn't think that name was too long, but I guess the shorter version could also work.) Some of the names I thought of were "Discoveries Beyond Imagination," "Life as We Never Knew It," (referring to Al being a type of artifical life form that the Gang has never heard of, idk), and "Beyond the Known Universe."

General Land Before Time / Re: LBT Dreams?
« on: June 16, 2020, 08:05:36 PM »
@OwlsCantRead Wow, that dream sounds like a doozy. I just wanna know what part of this wacky collab story I was responsible for... :lol I should probably feel more sympathetic towards poor Ducky, but now I can't quit laughing at the thought of her having a "complete mental breakdown" over Spike being taken by yell/yellowbellies!

Hi, welcome to the forum! It's always nice to have another fan join, especially one who's fond of The Stone of Cold Fire! :lol The LBT sequels stole the show in my childhood, too. And you got here just in time for Pterano's turn in the Character Showcase. :DD

Glad to see we have a new writer in the community! Is the character in your profile picture the one your username is taken from?

Soooo I think I'll use the explanation by @RainbowFaceProtege as a cop-out :chompysmile

You're welcome. You owe me another Guido fic for that cop-out! jk :lol

Looks like it's decided: if you guys are up for taking on another character, so am I! (After all, if I could choose an official eighth member for the LBT Gang, it would totally be Guido!) :DD @OwlsCantRead I look forward to seeing you playing him...who better for this job than our resident Guido himself? :lol I'll go ahead and add him to our character list. :)

Hmm...are we pretty much ready to get started on this RP? :wow

EDIT: Wait, I guess not needs a name. :p While I think about that, suggestions are welcome.

Silver Screen / Re: The My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic Thread
« on: June 14, 2020, 07:23:07 PM »
Thanks for the info @The Chronicler, I haven't been keeping up with MLP news as much as I used to. So...Pony Life is basically gonna be modernized FiM, hmm? As for the continuity--I guess I should've clarified that I already knew it wasn't the exact same continuity, but I'm just wondering whether it's going to change so much that the Mane Six + Spike will be the only characters who get carried over. If characters like the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Applejack's family, etc. get erased from existence, this isn't gonna go over well with me.

And who's this Potion Nova pony, anyway? IS she even a real character, or just one that was invented specifically for the toyline?

Honestly, I'd just prefer if they just pulled the plug on all FiM-related/associated productions after the finale of the core show. Just rip it off like a band-aid and get to work on G5.

I'm nervous about G5. I hope they give us a new group of main characters instead of rebooting the adventures of Twilight and Co., because they're not gonna be able to improve on the Mane Six's original run. Yet, from a marketing standpoint, I'd say the fact that FiM was such a success means Hasbro's probably gonna want to keep using its main characters, so I'm afraid G5 will turn out to be Friendship is Magic 2.0 or something... :confused
