Hey Guys, today I visited the local Chevrolet dealership, and they had on the showroom floor a '13 Camaro ZL-1 coupe,   Chevrolet's high-performance pony-car answer to the Ford Mustang Shelby-GT500.

It gets 580 horsepower to the engine.. and IT'S AVAILABLE WITH AN automatic transmission! (I don't know how to drive a stick, never learned how, and I don't want to "work" and constantly shift while driving..) The Shelby-GT 500 is NOT available with an automatic....... sorry. stick only.

Chevy thought of those who love top pony-car performance..even if they don't know how to drive a manual trans..

THIS ride was HOT guys. I looked at that engine.. those brembo brake calipers, those black wheels, and even the material on the steering wheel grip.. is really soft.. i thought it was going to feel like.. a really rough leather.. but it's soft! :)

Motor Trend Magazine, and Car and Driver Magazine both like it over the Shelby GT-500, despite the ZL-1 having less horsepower than the Shelby.

This means the Camaro ZL-1 is GM's MOST POWERFUL car available with an Automatic transmission and second most-powerful GM car of all!  (only behind the Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 which has 638 horsepower)

I also sat in a "more normal/regular" Camaro outside.. a 1LT coupe..  the seats were comfy. although of course it has smaller visibility through the windshield and back window.. the car is available with a back-up camera..  ;)

The Camaro ZL-1 is very hard-core awesome!  (bravo for them making it with an auto. trans..  meaning I AM CAPABLE OF DRIVING ONE!  : )  )

However, with a $55,000 price tag for the coupe.. :(  Too much for poor Jared.

and my dad's the real old 54 year old fart.. saying a new ford mustang GT convertible at $32.000 was WAY too much for him and said "I can buy a good used Corvette for that much!"

> 8 ( DAD! where is your pony-car spirit? these kinds of cars aren't $15-20,000 brand new anymore.

ANYWAYS dudes.. GREAT DAY off today! Got to check out the 2013 Camaro ZL-1 in person today, and sat in a 2013 Camaro 1LT coupe. John (belmont)  is right! The Camaro is an AWESOME sports coupe/muscle car.

And that ZL-1 is VERY aggressive! :) watch OUT guys! :)  :D  ^_^ BRAVO GM/Chevy for making an INCREDIBLE sports machine! The only obstacle is the $55,000 price tag..  heh.  Then again, that's ALWAYS the obstacle in a brand new sports car.. Lol.

and (from me, personally) bravo for them to have the heart of thinking of those of us who can't drive manual shifters... and making the ZL-1 available with an automatic trans! :) ^_^

Here's a page on the Chevy Camaro ZL-1 guys, for your enjoyment/knowledge :)

Another car I love in addition to this incredibly awesome, high-tech 580 horsepower american pony car coupe, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1....  is the Tesla Model S.

(the first completely electric car that's capable of many things..(far better than the Nissan Leaf)..  The Model S can go from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4 seconds, and getting an electric range of 300 miles. *MUCH longer than the Nissan Leaf, plus it's built in the U.S.A. (Fremont, CA) by Americans.*  *Yes I know my parents incorrectly understand with their "money goes to the Japs if you buy a dang Jap-car (Honda, Toyota, Nissan... Japs make $,)   WRONG ANSWER MOM AND DAD. Especially my old-fashioned-out-of-touch-old-timer-54-year-old-father. Lol.

The Tesla Model S has been named Motor Trend Magazines 2013 Car of the year.  How groundbreaking.  (hopefully one year, electric charging stations will be as mainstream as gas stations are right now)

Tesla is a very young company (founded in 2003) but the Model S is very groundbreaking..  300 mile electric range, 100% electric sedan.. very powerful engine,  0-60 in 4 seconds,   I'm impressed.  :)

^Yes, Tesla is revolutionary. I can see the electric car industry gaining serious momentum (finally). Did you know Jared that the guy who owns Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, also owns SpaceX, a company that makes its own rockets and uses them to re-supply the International Space Station, and at a much lower price than Lockheed Martin, Boeing or the various Russian space companies can? In a year or two he will have a rocket that can carry a much greater payload than the Space Shuttle, and in a decade he will have a rocket that's more powerful than the legendary Saturn V. And everything at a much lower price, of course.  He also owns First Solar and PayPal. He's making (or has made) revolutionary breakthroughs in several industries! Now that's what I call an entrepreneur.

Yes, Jansenov. I have 3 magazines with articles discussing the new Tesla Model S, and  that also discuss Elon Musk. I did discover that he owns Spacex before you posted. (I read about it in one of the magazines.) ;) Musk is a super-genius. What a technological break-through in the auto world with a long-range electric car. :)

Btw, here's a whole page of Camaro ZL-1 videos, they'll give you a real in-depth look of this 580-horsepower sport machine. :) (I love the current (2010-newer) Camaros, but I really don't like the style of the upcoming 2014 Corvette. It's ok, I like the Camaro anyways. A Corvette costs too much $$ for me (right now) and a Camaro's got rear seats, too. A 'Vette only seats 2, and is mainly used for "fun/occassional/once in a while" and not really meant to be a daily driver.

I like the Camaro anyways. (Maybe they'll do a retro version of the 1970-1973 Camaro in the next-generation body style, which is due for release in 2015 as a 2016 model.) I'd LOVE to see that. :yes
