The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Very cool @ImpracticalDino!

History of St. Patrick

Of course St Pattie’s Day is about a Roman-Briton man named Patricas or Patrix (Patrick) who was kidnapped by Irish pirates and held captive for six years. During his imprisonment Patrick found Christ, and was told by the Lord how to escape, the voice lead him on a 200 Mile trek  to freedom and home. But the story did not end there, Patrick felt a call to return to his enemy and preach the gospel of Christ. He was ordained a priest and returned to Ireland. The King of Ireland at the time, Laeghaire, was a pagan and was antagonistic towards this Roman-Briton missionary. While Patrick preached and established parishes, he carried a knife for protection. Eventually most of Ireland converted to Christianity, including King Laeghaire. Sadly, because Irish Church was not practicing the Roman Rite (Catholicism), Catholic Soldiers arrived and killed many Irish. Patrick was furious, writing letters to the Roman Bishops, denoucing their cold cruel ways. It is likely for this reason St. Patrick is not an offical canonized saint of the Roman Catholic Church.

To this day Patricas (Patrick) is patron saint of Iteland, and is venerated by Roman Catholics, Old Catholics, Anglicans (Protestant), Lutherans (Protestant), and The Eastern Orthodox Church which adds the title to him as “Equal of the Apostles.” He is one of few figures outsids the Twelve Apostles to be admired by many denominations for his missionary work and devotion to a people who had been his enemy and held him captive, fufilling Christ’s words:
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. 31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” (Gospel of Luke, Luke 6:27-36, Holy Bible, NIV).
