Anyone read this book, written by David Clement-Davies?

This is the first book I read by this author. I was recommended to read it by a friend of mine (who regularly visits here as a guest) and I decided to read it. At first, as with Watership Down, I wasn't sure if I would like this book. I was told it had similarities to Watership Down and almost thought it would be almost the exact same story but with deer. I was wrong. Yes there are a few similarities, but not that many, in my opinion. The story is quite good too, in my opinion.
