Hey guys!

I appreciate that this has been out for a couple of weeks already but just thought I'd ask anyway. Did anyone land a copy of the reinstallment of Goldeneye? I did last week and I've gotta say it plays pretty well. It's a lot more focused and structurely sound than the likes of The Conduit. I like the fact that it's not a clone of what Goldeneye was like for the N64 (not that Microsoft would let anyone outside of their own company go anywhere near the grand piece that Rare created way back then). Thankfully, it is literally the old gameplay system but with some new tweaks (well, by new they are pretty bog standard by today's standings). Thinks like melee, QTEs and ADS (aiming down the sights).

It's nice to see the game jazzed up for the 21st century. Some of the changes are glaring alterations from the actual movie but they do little to break up the flow of the game. And I've gotta say, with the major hype of multiplayer experiences like CoD, Goldeneye is a welcoming detox from the boasting disembodied voices that yell and scream over voice chat. Multiplayer is slick and just fun to play. I'd love to find anyone on here who's got Goldeneye so we could link up and play together!! :D Haven't done something like this since Brawl or Mario Kart!  :DD

That all aside, Goldeneye is definitely a keeper in my eyes. It is how a re-installation should be. Built upon the good notes of its predecessor. Maybe Sonic Team should have taken a leaf out of EuroCom's book; maybe Sonic 4 would have been more warmly received :p

I don't think I'll get it this year, but I still have it in N64, pretty fun game to play with friends.

I haven't got a copy just yet, but as a 007 fan and  one who enjoyed Goldeneye on the N64, I'm definately intending to.

I've been playing it a bit. Just beat it on agent and now going through it on 007 difficulty. I honestly haven't had this much fun with an fps game since UT2004. I really enjoy doing all the sneaking around in the single player mode. I also liked how the have the "classic 007" in the game where you have to keep picking up body armor to stay alive. I liked the idea of having a finite amount of health in fps's so im looking forward to trying that difficulty (though i can tell that Cradle is going to be frustarating as hell!  :lol ). Definately the best fps for wii, and thank god they never mapped grenade throw to shaking the nunchuck, i dont know how many times i killed myself in the Conduit from re-positioning my hand and throwing a grenade. I also enjoyed the re-imagining of the story as well as well as the gesture/button fighting sequence cutscene thingy between you and 006 in the last level. Made the end fight more of a bond movie experience then the usual run-and-gun approach. and did anyone else have a nostalgia trip when the Goldeneye theme song came on at the end of the dam level?

As for the multiplayer, i havent really tried playing it to much (at all actually), but i've heard that its pretty decent. I wouldnt mind playing online LF1616 to see where my fps skills (if any :lol ) are at. I wish that i got to play Brawl and Mario Kart way back when. I dont know how available i will be though since I have been extremely busy though will school and now that i have roomates, i dont have unlimited access to the tv anymore.

Cool! I'm still working through Agent difficulty at the moment, I'm at the weapons fair. I've tried the mission a couple of times and I keep missing the last breach and clear hostage room (keep finding 2 out of 3 arrgghh!  :bang  :p ) I really like how flexible the gameplay is in terms of the controller settings. Admittingly, I did try the Wiimote and Nunchuk type but I found it a little too "swingy" and I often overshot my target and wasted half my clip shooting over their shoulder :oops  :lol Loving the classic controller setting (although I think the Classic Controller Pro is the way to go if I had one). The GC config is alright but I don't like the way the Z button is an alternative button and you have to double up buttons for things like Melee (if anything, Melee should be at immediate access I would have thought)

Anyway, yeah I'm good for a game Flathead! :D Easiest thing to do is to whack your MP friends code up on the friends code page on here (Gamers Unite Sticky Thread) and we can add each other at our own leisure. Once we confirm we're Goldeneye friends, we can arrange for a shoot out! ;) Always game for a game!  :DD

Yea I will put my friend code up later today hopefully when I get home from school.

I actually really enjoy the wii remote control setup, I currently have a customized setting with almost the smallest possible dead zone(imaginary box on the screen that when your crosshair goes outside of it, you start to turn. I'm pretty sure that my sensitivity is pretty high as well. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's so fun to use once you get good at it. I played a lot of the conduit so I've had plenty of practice.

I just past the carrier level on 007. It's not too bad once you know how to kill everyone while staying hidden. As for your problem with the hostages LF1616 all I can say right now is that from what I recall, all 3 hostages are pretty close to each other and that a flashing icon will appear when your near one of them to.
