do you think doc is really the lone dinosuar? it was never confirmed he was in the movie. I think he was because, he had the scar on his face, he also had been to the valley before, and he  could use his tail as a whip but pretty much all long necks could do that  :idea

Hey there!  Welcome to the GOF :wave!  BTW, Ducky's my second-favorite character.  She's a sweetie :smile.

Anyhoo, there is already a topic on this in the "General Land Before Time" section.  The topic is titled "How is Doc Still Alive?" ;).  That's okay, though.  I understand you're new and I hope I did not sound offensive at all.  You'll find my thoughts on Doc in the thread I just mentioned.

Ah. We already have a topic about this.
But that is one of the very reasons why I don't like VI very much. There's plotholes you can drive a giant SEMI through.

If Doc was THE lone dinosaur, then he'd be so much older than Grandpa Longneck...it's unthinkable. NO ONE in LBT can be older than Grandpa Longneck...except slightly.

The tail whip is because he's a Diplodocous (sp?). Scientists believe that they did use their tails as whips, since they were so much more flexible than other sauropods.

And, as another statement that was mentioned, it would be a title handed down from generation to generation, like the Dread Pirate Roberts in The Princess Bride.

I think it was a good move of the movie makers to leave the part about the legend of the lone dinosaur as well as the question whether or not Doc was the basis for the legend deliberately open. It was one of the points of the movies end to show how a legend can be created (who knows what kids a few generations later would tell about Littlefoot's grandpa once the tale Littlefoot told has been passed on enough times) ;)
I prefer this kind of permitting the viewer to make up his or her mind to the comparatively clear departure of the rainbowfaces :confused

Personally I'm not so sure if it was a wise move to leave the question of whether or not Doc was the Lone Dinosaur ambiguous. Maybe for some that would be okay, but at least for me (perhaps for others as well) it was really frustrating and it didn't help me enjoy the movie any further.
