Looking back on my video game collection, I'd say I only have 3 games that would be really difficult to find and have serious value now if I ever wanted to sell them on the net. (Which I doubt I would, since I love all 3.)

The first two are the first two Klonoa games, which I already made a topic on, so I won't repeat myself.

And the third is this game: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_Trip_Adventure

I can remember the day I got this game: It was 7 years ago, I was ten years old, it was at a store at my local mall.

And it all honesty, I wasn't even aware of the game's existence until that day. I looked at the store's section for PS2 games, I saw this for like 15 bucks, I checked the summary and images of the game on the back, it looked like a kart racer.

(Note For Understanding: When I was a young gamer, got my first console when I was 7, Pretty much every game I played consisted only of 4 categories: Kart racing, Final Fantasy (Learned from watching my brother play), Crash bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.)

I bought this game blindly, you could say. And I'm so glad I did. There's so much to do in this game, such a vast (emphasize VAST) world map, several races to do, countless side quests, several reviews summed it up perfectly: "It's like a CaRPG"
(Basically imagine FF with racing instead of fighting.)

It wasn't until just last year did I realize how rare English copies of this game were. I remember being excited how the sequel to this game (Technically the 3rd in the series in Japan, but they only made this game, Choro Q HG 2 into English and just skipped over the first HG game) was going to be released in the US, but it's English dub got canceled. I did find a playthrough of the game on youtube, so at least I was able to see what the tracks were like.

What about you guys?

Beyond Good and Evil

I heard the game had an outstanding story. And it was made by Ubisoft, those guys make pretty awesome games.

Probably a game called Lost Eden. It's a dinosaur game set in a world where humans and dinosaurs have to work together to build citadels and stop a tyrannosaurus army. The main character, a silent protagonist named Adam, of course finds a woman named Eve. The humans in the game look like something out of an anthropologist's study, with their numbers outside of the protagonist's country being filled with tribal peoples and... masks. Lots of masks. In any case, the Tyrannosauruses are beaten in the end, but it is revealed that dinosaurs have no future and that humans will take over the world to come.

Had there been a sequel, which it totally deserved to have, there might have been Cain and Abel and other such references. Anyway, it was a great game, and almost impossible to find in stores. Maybe it is online.

To be honest, I don't know what games I own that would be considered rare. Is there a way to check?

There might be. I know that Lost Eden is unusually obscure by the standards of the games I have, and there is very, very little that is quite like it; an adventure game (like King's Quest games) with segments that are like real-time strategy games (like Age of Empires)

My guess would be to go to online retialers and see how much money people would be willing to pay for a copy of the game.

I remember seeing a copy if the first Klonoa game that cost over 200 dollars.

Rarest games I have?  Well, I'm not sure, but I do know one thing, they are all on Atari. :)

Yep!  That old! :D

I don't think I have any games that would be considered "Rare", but I have a few games that I'm proud of.

The following games are normally known for being N64 games:
Turok 2
Forsaken
Extreme-G 2

I have all of them as PC versions.  I bought them in stores back when they came out, except Extreme-G 2; I was lucky enough to find that at a second hand store a couple of years ago.

My CDs are all official PC ports of the games and probably the more difficult things in my game collection to find.  Curiously enough, all of these games are by Acclaim Entertainment (the old Acclaim, not the Acclaim that exists now with the same logo but a different company altogether :p).

I used to have Total Annihilation too, but I think I borrowed it to a friend and he borrowed me some game and we never reexchanged the games.
I also have Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri with the "Alien crossfire" expansion which seems to be fairly rare (judging from the prices offered for it). A really good game and no mistake.

I love Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri! I've got the disk for it, but I couldn't play it on my old XP. I used to play it in middle school on an even older computer. I wonder if it will work with my Window 7 computer... I doubt it.  I've never played the Alien expansion to it.

I also have a copy of a game called "Time Crusaders", which is an old educational game that involves puzzles and history. There's a roller coaster in China, some Aztec puzzle game, and... no one has heard of it. If I can find the CD case for it, I'll take a picture and post it here.

Back in 2003 I came across a game called Majesty, its like your average RTS except you don't control any of the characters, if you want a monster destroyed then you would put a price on its head, if you wanted a piece of land explored then you would put a price on that place and hire any heros brave enough to go there, it did get a sequel, Majesty 2 recently which is actually better than the original.
