Terrible 3-D Petrie modeling

I was watching this youtube video of one of the LBT games that are out there

this one is from "Great Valley Racing Adventure"

The cut-scenes are absolutely terrible. The animation quality sucks, and the voice acting in this game.....

Littlefoot's voice is fine. Cera's voice is great.

but Ducky's voice totally sucks and is pathetic. UGHHH! *That actress should've been fired.

And as for Petrie.. I can stretch my voice a bit higher than who voiced him in this game.

And from 8:58-9:02 was the part that scared me. When Petrie says:

"That exciting. Shall we go see it?   What you say?"

The close up of Petrie and the terrible, awful 3-D animation quality.  I had it on full screen, too. and I watched it late last night.

When the shot of Petrie came up. It really scared me. It sent me a big shot down my spine and I almost peed myself.  (actually a tiny teensie squirt came out)  

And if you look at the Petrie close-up. His neck ring is GONE!   :blink:

I already discussed another game "Return to the great valley" on another thread. Petrie guides the player in "easy" mode

But the best video game i've seen videos of on youtube is "Big Water Adventure"

Petrie is the menu guide and also guides the player through the game

And I read on another thread about someone talking about Petrie's bad grammar.

C'mon. Petrie's the tiniest and cutest. I love how he says "me" instead of "I"

He is NOT retarded. and shame on anyone who thinks he is.

the way Petrie talks plays a big part on how funny, adorable, and cute he is.

The other 2 things are his very high voice and his small, tiny size.

Hehe, I still have this game .  Both PS1 LBT games, for that matter.  Cera is naturally the character I pick, though somethin' 'bout Ducky's running looks quite comical and even cute .  Ducky in this game reminds me of what my sprints look like .  What is so comical about short lil' legs and sprinting, anyway ?

I have Great Valley Racing Adventure. I have to admit I actually think it's kind of fun. Sure the voice acting is terrible and the character models leave a lot to be desired but it was still pretty good. I love the menu music. It's very relaxing.

Looks a heck of a lot more fun than the big water game I've got for PS1.  Still, I gotta admit that the models are really bad....especially Petrie.

It's been YEARS since I've played it, but If I remember correctly, the prize is getting to play Mo at the end in some sort of water game.  The whole game was pretty lame and the ending was a big letdown.  I gotta admit, the game in this topic looks a LOT better.

Ugh!  Thank God I never had a PS1 growing up!  I'd be so tempted to get this game just cause it's The Land Before Time!  From the video, I can tell that it's just horrible.

Now, I will forgive them for the bad modeling since this was at a point when 3D was the new and big thing in gaming.  So bad graphics were to be expected in some games.

Okay, could someone tell me why we couldn't get the movie voice actors for this?  You can just tell it's someone else who is TRYING to sound like the characters.  My guess is that they knew the game would be bad, so they didn't want any part of it.

Okay, here's free a tip for anyone making a racing game.  When you hit an object, you don't fly back!  You either come to a halt or go into a spin out. (Or even worse, you tumble.) This is part of Gameplay Design 101.  Making the characters fly back for barely touching an object?  Can I please beat up the guy who made this?

Hmm... Should we ask the AVGN to review and destroy this?

^That whole reaction to running into an object seems more realistic for a short person .  Seriously, if I run into somethin' that's at least my size, I bounce back.  This includes running into another person .

Littlefoot, Spike, and even the somewhat smaller Cera bouncing back from running into objects is a bit ridiculous, but Ducky bouncing back from running into an object is understandable and plausible  .
