Life and Lies

This is NOT a happy poem. Just saying that now....

I don’t know why I’m bothering to do this…
I guess I just need an outlet…
Nobody else cares…
Nobody else will listen…

Life is pointless…
There’s no rhyme or reason…
We’re all born to die…
And not everyone can live…

Life is a lie…
Everyone lies to me…
They say they care…
But that’s just more deceit…

My sister promises to be there for me…
She claims Dad will listen…
And understand me…
And help me…

Again that’s another lie…

I try to fill everyday with purpose…
Live by the moment…
Looking forward to petty goals…
Comics and Movies and Internet…

Purpose…
That’s another lie…
My life is meaningless…
And empty…

They wonder why I’m so negative…
I guess that’s what happens when you build your hopes…
Only to have them crushed…
Gotta protect myself from those stupid hopes…

Troubling thoughts enter my head…
I usually shove them away…
Bottle them up…
But not today…

Funny how they say they care…
But then shove aside my feelings…
Saying I’m stupid…
And that I should stop…

But they don’t know what’s in my head…
I want so badly to tell them everything…
But when I try…
They just shove me aside…

And call me stupid…

There’s nowhere to turn…
Even my simple joys are fading…
Spider-Man is one of the few to bring me joy…
And to that, I say to one character:

“Demogoblin, if demons like you are real…
Then let them take me now…
Because I don’t care anymore…

…

…Nobody cares anymore…”
