The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

How can carnivores learn the leaf eater language?

How do you think carnivores and sharpteeth can learn the leaf-eater language? You see, there was Chomper, the young T-rex,who spend a lot of time with the gang of five when he was young, and there's also Dil the Deinosuchus rugosus (she's not a theropod but still a carnivore),who was clearly fluent in leaf-eater language. So,what a re your ideas and theories about how carnivores can learn to speak like herbivores?

That was just a cheat by the filmmakers. :) I think it is impossible or at least very unlikely for sharpteeth to even consider learning the leaf-eater language.

They could, but I guess many don't believe that the leaf eaters are intelligent.  Some others may not want to bother learning another language.

In case of Chomper I got a theory based on the idea that he may have met Ruby before ending up on the island of LBT 5. In case of Dill Ichty may have worked as a kind of teacher. Omnivores seem to be more likely to know "leafeater language" than carnivores are. Factually speaking Murmur is right that it is by the moviemakers decision, but in case of Chomper it is possible to make up a story other than the rather implausible idea that his language ability was based on the few hours he had with Littlefoot and the others after his birth.

There could have been an omnivore that Chomper's parents knew of who also knew Ruby's parents and may have introduced them to each other when they were traveling around and he may have taught chomper some leaf eater language so chomper could talk to ruby.  They when they get off the island they may have encountered Ruby's family again, maybe leaving Chomper with them while they look for a safe place to move to then they'll come back and get Chomper then to take him back with them.

I always thought that Chomper could have learned by following his parents around whenever they hunted, and, recognising that they were similar to those that hatched him, attempted to make sense of what they said.

As for Dil, there is the possibility that, with her poor eyesight, she may have tried to learn the language in order to still keep up with her prey - using hearing instead of sight, which would have more useful if she learned it. How she'd do that is anyone's guess...
