The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Why exactly do people like the sequels, aside from nostalgia? Wasn't the first movie supposed to be self-contained?

Well, when you watch a good movie you fall in love with it, the characters, the idea and continuing the story is just fun and entertaining because you enjoy'd the first one so much. It's like when you were a little kid and would get a playset, and then they came out with a new one and you got it, theirs more to be entertained with.

Because who doesn't want to see their favorite film expanded on?

Sequels can be exciting. A chance to see how the story continues, what happens next, all that stuff. The sequels aren't really that bad. Sure I prefer the first movie, but the sequels have their merits, too.

For example, we don't learn that much about the world of LBT in the first movie. Yes we learn there's a vast desert the dinosaurs are trying to cross to reach the Great Valley. We learne of a few locations. But we don't see much interactions of the adults nor do we get to really explore too much of areas outside the valley other than what Littlefoot and the others travel through. Come the sequels, however, and, throughout them, not only do we get a bigger picture of the world around them, learn some bits of how the adults got to the valley, but we also learn of more areas in the valley itself.

Sure you could say that these locations are non-canon if you're one of those people that doesn't like to include the sequels as canon. But in the end, you can't argue that the sequels have more detail about the valley and about the world around them than the original does.

One movie just isn't enough to expand on a world, even for something like LBT.

Sure, there are good sequels and bad sequels, but the one good thing they all have going for is the fact that we have new facts and new things to apply to the ever-expanding world we've fallen in love with.

I'm glad there are sequels. They just further expand the universe the first movie introduced and they further develop the characters. As long as the plot of the movies isn't absolutely crap (like in some Tv-series episodes  <_< ) I go with: The more LBT the better ;)
