The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Showing off my new graphics card

Why did I put this in the art section?  Because there is an art to capturing the perfect screenshot in a game.  In Flight Simulator, I find a scene that I think looks good and then I pause the game and capture the image to admire later on.  Recently I got a new computer with a much more advanced graphic card and now I'm enjoying Flight Simulator 2004 with maxed out graphic settings, just the way it was meant to be enjoyed.

My PBY-6 Catalina flying at low altitude above the Columbia River.  I used an enhanced water effects addon because the water textures that came with the game wee boring and bland.

My F-14 Tomcat at dawn off the coast of Australia.  Once again, I used the enhanced water textures.

Here are two shots of my Japanese F-2 Viper Zero escorting a Boeing 777 at dusk.  The sunsets are really pretty in this game with the maxed out stats.

My F-14 on an evening flight off the coast of Hawaii.

Another flight out of Hawaii at sunset, this time using a Lockheed Constellation.

How about some card information?  You really can't tell how good it is by looking at some screenshots from such an old game.  I mean 2004?  C'mon.  Anything can display that so long as it's not onboard video.  How about you take it for a real test with a newer game?

I don't have any newer games for the PC since I've got a PS2 and an Xbox360.  I don't play a lot of PC games.  In fact, this was the last PC game I bought.  Everything else is from before the year 2000.

Don't they have game trials you could download?

Cool screenshots, that game looks fun.

I wanna see the specs on your new card too.

Do you fly real F-14's?

I wish.   Alas, I'll only fly F-14s in videogames.

Oh. Ah well, maybe one day the opportunity will present itself.

I recommend Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X if you don't have it already. It's a great jet flying game that'll give any graphics card a run for it's money! :)

If you want it to look even a heck of a lot better, try turning on the anti-aliasing features of your video card to 4x or 8x (if your card is fast enough, that is).  It will smooth those jagged edges right out and make the graphics look wicked-cool and much more realistic! :D
