Is This Going a Little Too Far?

I just put up a new decoration in my room and I was wondering if it was a bit...much. What do you guys think? I still have to crop the images a little bit with a straight-edge paper cutter:

Using surface area calculations, I have calculated that the image is approximately 12.84 times larger than the original movie cover

Did you use glossy photo paper? I'd say using photo paper would be a bit unecessary but it looks nice. Too bad you couldn't find a good one of the original vhs...its darker and less cute.

Yeah, It was premium glossy photo paper. I always pay for premium even when it's not needed. It was only $25 for 10 sheets. I had the original vhs cover (from 1991) but I didn't like it too much. Not to mention that I couldn't scan it very well. I just took the dvd cover out of the case and scanned it using a 20,000dpi scan. Worked like a charm!

Also, regular paper wouldn't work too well. It'd just bend with the tape I put it up with. <_<

let me say, this being at least your second thread like this: nothing is too far, what suits you suits you...

but you could crop the white parts off the edges

looks nice tho

Perhaps you might want to check out ebay as well for original posters of the movie? They are frequently offered at ebay and very often they are in perfect condition. I have movie posters of the original movie as well as of the third and fourth. I didn't hang them up though as there is simply no room left on my walls.

I'm eventually gonna cut off the white crap, put it onto poster board, and seal it with a weird sort of expensive sealer. Once I'm done, it'll be much better than a real movie poster because it'll be much more stable and it'll have many more colors. BTW, if anyone's interested, I can post download links to the images here so you can make your own. The pics are about 8megs each though. That was the only way to make it so the images weren't all blurry and pixley from being blown up so large.

You know, I was looking at a LBT picture posted here, and I got reminded on how ridiculous my LBT desktop background collection had gotten. I had 86 (of course, I'm sure landbeforetimelover probably has well over at least 10 times that number

) and there were some that weren't any good and just wouldn't make good backgrounds, so I trashed 25 of them. Of course, my definition of ridiculous may be more strict than landbeforetimelover's.

its really up to you, I suppose... The poster looks awesome.

The only film based picture I have in my apartment is the main Narnia Movie Poster, which hangs outside my bedroom door. I think that's as far as I'll go about hanging posters in my little so called domain. (my apartment is made up of paintings and old fashioned decor... just call me an old fashioned geek! XD )

btw can you shrink those images please? it expands my screen and I cant read all your text. and FoxFire's being a butt about it.

I might if I can find some of the older covers. The newer ones aren't too good, but I might resort to them if I have to.
