The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Something I am thinking about

I thought about this for a long time, and I came up with this idea, once. The idea was to make a livechat for the GOF. But one told me it would be to much work and we still have nice Msn chats. But, after I saw that Austin made a livechat on his homepage, why can¥t we on GOF?

If we were to make a live chat, it would have to be on a separate website.  Invisionfree doesn't give you a lot of control when it comes to this sort of thing.  I bet I could program something on the bottom of gof, but I'd need an external server and the way invisionfree is set up, it would have to be on every single page. <_< We could have a live chat, but it would have to be on a separate website.  That's all there is to it.  Since it has to be on a separate website anyways, why not just use the one on my website?  It'd be easier than setting up a whole new one.  Besides, it really doesn't have that much of a use.  I personally believe that a forum is much better than an instant gratification messaging system.  Once we get a good 500 ACTIVE members, then a live chat will actually become useful but until then we really don't have a use for it.

I got it now, thanks Austin. Well, but how you said... this livechat is kinda inactiv. Anyway, then it will stay like it is.

MSN works fine for me.  I only log in on Fridays as it is.  I don't think people will simply change their msn habits since they know many people beyond our board.
