The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Let me know if this thread is off topic.  I haven't found any other place to post this.

I've just got addicted to a miniatures game called Axis & Allies, a game of turn-based strategy and authentic-looking game pieces (and stat cards) where one side tries to win over the other.  I taught my brother and father the game, where they easily outnumbered me...but I quickly outgun and out maneuvered them every match! :smile The sides are simply Axis country pieces versus Allied country pieces, but they also have stats of different countries.  (i.e. Axis has Germany, Italy, Japan, Romania, Hungary, etc.; Allies have US, UK, China, Poland, Greece, Australia, Canada, etc.)

There are different sets of rules for the game (ground battle, naval battle, & scenario), and so far, I learned land battle rules (this all have planes, of course ;) )

Anyone else, played similar games?

I've not played any of those sort.  The closest is using minuatures on a map while playing an rpg to show here you are.   I know some like Warhammer 40,000 or use to, and there is another type called Hero Clix and I think called Mage Knight, and use to be Mage Knight Dungeon.  I never played those though.  I do have a few figures I got since I liked how they looked.

Dungeons and Dragons is one I collect. The game is really complicated and I'm just in it for the miniatures.
