The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Google has officially the creation of an operation system to be released within the next year, Google Chrome OS

What do you guys think?  I'm a bit hesitant, the chrome browser was horrible when they first released, I used it for two hours before switching to firefox.  Now though its my primary browser, so I'm not sure what to think about Google products.

This defiantly depends on, what kind of person you are. To me, it sounds like a new version of Ubuntu or Fedora Core, but instead of being build over the Linux code, is instead build over the net. How they're gonna do that, beats me.

I don't think I'm ever going to use it. It doesn't suite my requiments of a operation system. If you use Google Chrome OS, you're a person you uses the net so regulary, that you're constantly online. If you use Mac, you're the kind of person who makes work your life, and media/sound is part of your work. If you use Windows, then you either have a lot of media, work or just a lot of computer games. Linux is best as servers.

It all depends on what kind of person you are, and what you need. I need a Windows, both for work and games. Therefore I'll probably never need anything else.

So the question is, what is it, YOU require from a OS?

I was told about this, and I think I'll pass. I used their browser like once, didn't like it. Even though it's going to use open-source software, which I've always been attracted to, I think I'll stick to Windows.

Crap.  Netbooks?  I was hoping I might be able to dump windows within the next 5 years or so.  But maybe it'll evolve even more.  If it's actually going to be a free OS that would be great.  Then again, if it's free I doubt they can surpass MS.  I have mixed feelings about this.  I'll try it when it comes out.
