I might be odd but I do kind of like the old system better dino_tongue.gif Even though it's not as fancy it was a lot more easy to overlook...
Awk! How could you say that? The old system looks like crap! It looks like something designed for Windows 95. I was more concerned about how the server worked more than how it looked back then. But now that I'm a lot more sophisticated, I can make a much better looking server interface. But the newer system gives you a lot more info. Hovering over the icons gives you file/folder information. Personally, I find that having an interface that's more like Windows is a lot more comforting for people than a nasty looking archaic table layout from the Windows 95 days.
But hey, if you like the old layout you'll be happy to know that the backup system looks almost exactly like it. The only difference is there's no Inuyasha background. It's just plain black. But the tables look the same. The backup system is what goes online if there's ever a serious problem with the main system. This doesn't apply to when my connection goes down (which is the cause of 99% of server downtime) sadly. But if I ever need to do some minor maintenance that could make the interface screwy or unusable when I'm working on it, I'll put up the backup template.
One example of this is when I was rewriting the delete function in the member tools to improve security. The way I had to test it, the tool would have malfunctioned and deleted EVERYTHING in your account if you clicked it. I only had to test it for ten minutes or so, but in that time several members could have accidentally deleted all their files. That would've gone over well.
Oh, and I should mention that the member tools are not there in the backup template. On the backup template, members can upload files and that's it. All other functions have been disabled because I don't want people screwing around with file names and stuff when I'm working on the server.
