This mini series is set in the pacific during world war 2 here's the wikipedia link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pacific_(miniseries). I watched a rerun of the first episode last night it was pretty good.

This looks pretty cool, though I admit I haven't heard much about it. Perhaps I'll give it a watch.

I hope for it to be available on youtube some day. I really miss a proper history channel over here though I must admit that there is at least one channel here which does air interesting documentaries sometimes.

It's on HBO and it's also on T101 which is channel 239 if you have direct tv. I have to say it's a really powerful series. It should be on youtube when it comes out on DVD.
