^ I'm not sure a shotgun is in the spirit of a wizard. Still, it could work in a steampunk setting. Still, Merlin with a shotgun.

A figurine of a powerful being made out of an exotic material, like Quartz, jade, diamond, jade, ruby, turquoise, topaz, or porcelain.

How about a Unicorn HORN? Useful for all sorts of things.

Still, if you want postmodern magic, I would suggest a magical machine that can do... whatever the story needs it too. Like Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.
