The Da Vinci Code

I was surprisd to notice that such a contraversial movie - and book - still didn't have a place in the Silver Screen, especally when it's sequel is just coming up.

The intrigue behind all the movie is amazing, and although including many suppositions, it's enough to get you glued to it and to try and figure if things match according to reality.

Anyone else agree?

I've read the book, but haven't seen the film. i don't believe in the Illuminati or that other conspiracy bunk..I just enjoy the books for what they are.. fiction, and darbn good ones at that..

The film is based around "facts" that have been disproven, and all in the name of trying to shake the foundations of Christianity. I'm a Christian. Give me a reason to like this movie.

Well, I'm also Christian, but to tell the truth, I liked this movie for some reason. I haven't read the book because I still haven't had the chance, but the storyline it offers is actually intriguing, I guess. And remember, It's fiction. <.< The film didn't affect my beliefs in any way, actually.

The Da Vinchi Code is a great movie!

But now that I've wathced Angels and Deamons, I must say that I find the later one better, with more action, tense and interessting plot.

People love a good conspiracy, and the vatican has been the target of those conspiracies for centuries. they aren't true, iof curse, but people keep believing them..

It's natural, I guess. There will always be people who are trying to bring down things, and Christianity isn't an exception. The same thing happens with political governments, with people behind trying to bring them down. It's just the same cycle for everything.

@Lillefot: I agree, Angels and Demons was one of the best stories I've seen. In a way, though, you might see that the Da Vinci Code was more of a critic - like it's been discussed here - while the Angels and Demons story was more of a, well, story. It doesn't really present anything that counters modern knowledge and stuff... well, at the single exception of the

LHC working and the God's particle being created. It's actually what gives it it's fiction categorization, because in reality, the so-called particle wasn't created because the LHC didn't even work. So, the way the product would behave is up to the film's image, I guess.

You can read here more about antimatter thing. Actually, to produce half a gram of it CERN would need 2 billion years and not a few minutes as movie portrays it, so i guess that Vatican doesn't have to worry about any antimatter bomb in near future.

I've just watched "Illuminati" in the theater and I have one question to those who have seen the English version of it. In the German version the members of the swiss guard are speaking a very broad swiss-German dialect (the one some Swiss would actually speak). Is there some kind of dialect for them in the English version and if so, what kind of dialect?
