The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Kirby's Epic Yarn!  Never before would you think of hearing those words together.  This is the most unique game ever made.  Also, it's the most gore infested game ever!  Not kidding here!  It's also done in the kid-friendly kind of way.

With the way they've designed this game, they could go really far and not once would the "censorship alarm" be activated.  Even when you kill an enemy boss and yarn bits go flying everywhere, not once do the censors see it as a bad thing.

Indeed, the biggest debate is that you can't ever die.  If you get hit, the beads you collected go flying everywhere.  Yet, if you get hit without any beads, you only get stunned for a second.  Also, when you fall down a pit, a yarn angel pulls you back onto the field.  In the end, it's all about aiming for that perfect score.

In the end, good game, but it's just too forgiving.

That's my take on it though.  What about you guys.  What do you think about it?

See ya later!

I've seen the gameplay footage to this. Gotta say it looks adorably cute you'd get poisoning from overexposure to it.  :lol I'll probably get this. The gameplay looks fun and the co-op looks like it adds to the joy of it all. The distinct lack of "dying" is a bit lame coz it de-teeths the threat of failure but I suppose for the perfections and pureists amongst the ranks will aim to collect everything without faultering.

The logic of that sentence is just baffling!  :p  :lol How can you make gore "kid friendly"? Surely the concept of removing blood, guts and gore from a visual representation would therefore make it NOT gory I would have thought... :smile

It's gory in the sense that the stuff the enemy is made out of goes flying everywhere.  Yet, it's all made of yarn, so the censors don't care.

And according to web definitions, I am right.

Quote
# Vice President of the United States under Bill Clinton (born in 1948)
# coagulated blood from a wound
# wound by piercing with a sharp or penetrating object or instrument
# a piece of cloth that is generally triangular or tapering; used in making garments or umbrellas or sails
# cut into gores; "gore a skirt"
# bloodshed: the shedding of blood resulting in murder; "he avenged the bloodshed of his kinsmen"

The game is very violent, and the censors won't even mind. :)

I played this game yesterday at the mall and I agree that the violence is pretty weird, im surprised it didn't even get an E+10 rating from ESRB. As for the art they used, it reminds me of the N64 game Yoshi's story. and the no death, it's as stupid as the no death option in the sega genesis/megadrive game Shinobi (i think it had that option).

Hey it's my 64th post! Go 64-bit! :DD

looks interesting enough, but with all these games coming out, and games i've yet to buy, im going to have to pass this one up. I have to start trying to save more money and stop buying so many games.

Kiryb's Epic Yarn has been delayed over here. It was due out earlier this month but it's being held back until December now (probably trying to get maximum out put by hitting the Xmas rushes). It will be a game I'd get eventually but it's not too high on my wishlist at the moment. All in good time, and when I've got the spare cash for it :p
