The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Problems with MSN

In the last days I heard from several people on MSN that I appeared as offline to them even though my setting was online at the time. In return I also saw several people as offline though their setting too was online. Moreover on at least one ocassion I did not receive messages sent by someone and some of my own messages were returned to me as well even though both of us were showing as online at the time :bang
Given these problems it might be prudent these days to sometimes check out the "offline" people on MSN if you would like to talk to them just to see if they indeed are offline or if MSN is messing up (I doubt those I'm talking to and I would be the only ones affected by this).

It's some kind of MSN glitch. It's happened to me before. I don't really know what to do about it.

It's up to Microsoft. Their products are full of problems, yet we still use them, out of inertia.

I run into this problem a lot (ask the people I talk to).  Its frustrating..it looks like nobody is online, but yet everyone may be online.  I'm tempted to tell people to make a meebo account and chat through that.

I chat through meebo. It's easier to use than MSN.

I have two questions about Meebo. Does it allow for discussions to be automatically saved, same as with MSN? And does it allow for microphone / webcam chats?

No to microphone and webcams.  If you wanted to save a chat, just copy and paste into a Word document.
