The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Steve Irwin..

From what I heard he died after the medical officers that arrived on the sence failed to save his life and died as they tried to save him not instantly... I seen a few other sources saying the same thing. but I guess that don't make a real differences to it all.

From what I read he was already dead when the medicals arrived. As you said Threehorn, it doesn't make any real difference. The articles I read pointed out that, while the poison of sting rays usually isn't lethal to humans (Irwin is the third Australian in history to die from a sting ray sting) the sting itself shouldn't be underestimated. In the article it was compared to a bayonet.
I'm afraid that due to all his experience Irwin probably grew somewhat to careless about the risk, that may come from the fascinating creatures he was dealing with, if they feel threatened.

Well they said he probably died instantly.  That doesn't mean he did, but if anybody was shot, or stabbed in he heart has died in a matter or seconds.  From what I know, anyway.

The barbs do contain toxin, as well as bacteria Cyber.  So infection is problem, when you are scratched by the barb, the pain comes from the venom, and there is a risk of infection from the bacteria in the barb as well...

I only heard infection.  Because one time and Australian girl stepped on a Stingray, got the barb stuck in her foot, and got such a serious infection that she had to have her foot amputated.

apparently Irwin was able to pull out the barb before he died. That's what the latest reports are saying...

His death was caught on film by one of his cameramen. According to the reports of those who have seen it it showed Steve pulling the barb out of his chest and passing out before dying.

You know, I always thought his line of work would one day kill him, but I did not expect him to go like this.  Let's just say the way I imagined involved a croc.

Anyways, this is very sad to hear.  I may not be a fan of him, but I have heard what he did in his line of work.  He will be truly missed. -_-
