Can you recommend a filehoster?

Hi everybody,
these days I'm putting a lot of time and effort into the creation of powerpoint presentations for my lectures about American history at the VHS (adult education center). Now I would like to put my presentations online so students who missed a class still can take a look at the presentations. The original plan was for me to send the presentations via email, but since the presentations are fairly large (the largest so far is 37MB and I expect future ones to get larger) this turned out to be unpracticable.
So I created a new photobucket account to host the presentations there for my students, just to find that photobucket doesn't allow for the hosting of powerpoint presentation. I never got much into the different online filehosters and would therefore really appreciate if anyone of you could give me a recommendation for a free filehoster that allows for the hosting and sharing of powerpoint presentations and doesn't have too tight a limit on filesize?

My recommendation would be to open a simple 1 page website with something like Freewebs and just link to each lecture.  I'd recommend hosting the lectures on MediaFire or another simple service like that.  Where you host it doesn't matter very much.  But you need a centralized place where people can go to download the files, and that should be your Freewebs site.

I recommend SendSpace. I've been using SendSpace for YEARS and I just love this service. Upload everything you want (up to 300MB per file). You can also download a wizard tool where you have better upload and download options.

However, there's one bad thing: Files not downloaded for 30 days will be deleted.

I tend to use MediaFire. Upload limit is 200 MB, but there's unlimited space. Also all files remain on the site unless there's little activity. They'll stay up so long as you simply log into your account (and perhaps upload a file if you want).

Mediafire stays as my #1 choice for hosting files.  There's seriously not much bad stuff I can say about it.

Another good one I ran into recently, SockShare.  Has just about all the great set-up of MediaFire, so it's easy to separate and categorize your files.  On top of this, you have a limit of 1 GB per file with Unlimited space to the amount you can store there.  Yeah, wrap your head around that.

However, there are two main downsides.  First off, you can only upload up to 10 files at a time.  Imagine if you had hundreds of files.  It would take a while, huh?  Second problem is, they only stay if the files are being downloaded.  If no one has downloaded the file within 30 days, it is removed from the site  and you have to go to the trouble of uploading it again.

Still, despite this, it's a good site for what it's worth.  As long as you have an active audience, they will stay.

There's even plenty more out there.  These days, you certainly have your pick of the litter, Malte.
