I cast my vote The Land Before Time. I have to say this is my favourite because this one was the beginning and showed so much styles to it for the orginal and I found it to have the only scene that in any Land Before Times to make me cry when Littlefoot's mum died...

I voted on LBT 4, mostly because the great mith of Ali's possible return. However, the original one touchs my heart in ways no sequel will ever match

I actually liked movie #6 and #7 more than the original. I mean, the original was great, and it was more mature and heartfelt than the sequels, but I thought that the original LBT movie didn't really devote much time to developing characters - it was all about reaching the Great Valley. In any case, as for WHY I liked #6...Doc. Doc freaken. Rocks. He's is a lot like me - I don't like to socialize, but when people talk to me I'll respond, everyone knows nothing about me, I'm naturally calm but can have a flare of attitude, and so on and so forth. That's the main reason. Another is...well...the Allosaurus - or the gold and brown sharptooth at the very least if its species isn't specified - rivaled the ferocity of the T. Rex in the original, and dang, that thing just didn't. Give. Up! Which was why I liked it, even though it was supposedly killed by a longneck-induced rock avalanche...

Movie #7...there's a lot of reasons why I liked it. Though the animation was horrible, it gave Petrie some limelight, which I thought we seriously needed after all of this attention focused on Littlefoot. There were interesting, complex characters like Pterano and deceitful characters like Rinkus, and while the story was simple it branched off into a couple semi-miniplots (Ducky being kidnapped, Petrie trying to prove that his uncle is good, Rinkus and Sierra planning rebellion behind Pterano's back, etc.).

I wouldn't doubt to see the first one earn over 50% of the vote. As such, most probably know already why I put my money down for the first one. There are very few times where a sequel can top the original idea. They haven't been able to do it yet...they can't match the storyline, they can't match the music (reuse the original score for at least films 1-5); simply put you can't do any better.

Ah.. I didn't notice you could vote on more than one... that kind makes this vote rather pointless don't you think?
Looks like Petrie's guess isn't going to happen. The original has only around 20% of the votes, still it's the most voted one so far

First movie...easily understanding and very emotional with a hint of Don Bluth's dark tone.
