The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

I really like Kor's idea. It'd especially be interesting if the Gang decides to leave while the adults are talking and the adults have a legitimate reason why they can't go to the land of mists-- like, they know something is going on over there that the kids don't or something.

Could be Some farwalkers told them.  I'm sure the'd share some news of things they had seen.  If I recall correctly that's how mr Thicknose said he learned a lot of what he knows, listening to farwalkers, when he was a kid.

That's a good idea, Kor!

The Land of Mists might be hostile to the Gang at times so the grown-up's concerns may be right.
Whether the Gang meets the grown-ups again or not is completely up to you, I enjoy it wither way and either way it'll work :)

Alright, so what IS going on over at the land of mists? We've been circling this subject for awhile now, and we still haven't really decided what is going on over there that:
1) Turns an already dangerous swampy area into a place so dangerous that the adults would never let their children go there.
2) Will would create a long term conflict that would keep the kids there, regardless of whether they find what they were looking for or not, and
3) Would allow an avenue for Ali to be involved in the story.

Any ideas?

My idea is that the LoM is not that hostile anymore but it'll still be a dangerous place to travel through.
Ali's herd will be there (and how about their grown-ups being ill as well?) but the night-flowers won't.
They will meet old and new enemies to be confronted with of course (guess who)...

Sounds like that could work, if Ali's herd's adults are sick that could make sense that they would go to the Land of Mists.

Right...  :idea that's the reason for them to be in the LoM in the first place :)
That'd be one reason why Ali won't be the Ali they know (but there's also another one only the one that plays Ali will be told about to make this more interesting both for you and any Readers and followers of this RP :))

Okay, so what's in the land of mists that would provide some sense of hazard? Otherwise, it'll just feel like a retread of the Land Before Time 4. Something new has to be there to change the experience of the land of mists from before. The adults being there and being sick would certainly help, so is there anything we can add to that? I did put fourth the idea of a Koolasuchus and Quetzacoatlus possibly being antagonists along with Ichy and Dil; is that still provoking interest, or should we scrap them and think of something else?

That's good to hear, but to follow up on that: would that be enough for a story? What else, if anything, should we add?

If you think the story will end with the Gang finding the Night Flowers in the LoM curing all plagued dinosaurs, you're wrong. I have a rough plot in mind which, in fact, MurMur suggested in a PM. Ichy &Dil and the two villains you have planned will be a dangerous thread and they'll be each others opponents as well what makes the whole thing more interesting plus I'm sure there is quite some room for humorous posts :)

I don't think I need to tell you what that all is about, need I? Knowing the whole story in advance is not what I personally prefer. Sure the end will be a happy one but the way to that end will be hard and many challanges have to be overcome. Characters will find themselves in situations in which they're endangered of dieing more than once (we already had one, 'member? ;)).
I'm not the guy who actually wants to know spoilers though I'm telling far too many myself  :slap

I hope this is answering your question, Loyfe.

Oh of course. I wouldn't want to know the plot ahead of time. I'm just wondering, is enough out in open now that we can finally move forward. I think your right: it probably is. We just need someone who roleplays one of the adults to break the ice and get things moving forward again.

Just makes a post that will allow the story to continue. It's still at a standstill.

The kids have done their part and gave told their parents that they're worried about them and they want to help. The adults HAVE to react to this in some way before anything else can happen, even if that reaction is to ask the kids if they can have a discussion amongst themselves.
The first poster will give the incentive for what action the rest of the adults are to follow.

ok, I edited my post, which was the last there.  Not sure if it would help.  I did get an idea that may start the debate/arguing among the adults.

Thanks for starting it, Kor :)

Well, I'm leaving beautiful, beautiful Utah for a week on a vacation to Belize, and I'm pretty sure their internet connection isn't the most top notch in the world. Someone will have to take my place as Littlefoot in that time. Any takers?

As long as nobody else wants him, I can take Littlefoot though I doubt I'd have much to do considering our current speed (nobody's gonna post? again?).

Belize? That's a beautiful place I suppose :) Enjoy your vacation, Loyfe :exactly
