"You did all that?" asked Jake, gesturing to the multiple corpses

"yeah" spoke up Derv "Idiots thought we didn't know how to fight"

well its lucky you knew how to fight, and its lucky we happened across your caravan. I'm Ilsa and this is Minna. What are your names?'Ilsa asked kindly. ' we'll help you salvage what supplies we can, and then you'll have to come with us.. as we're not leaving you out here.

"Well, we were on our way to the port- it's a few days Caravan from here- we were gonna head back to our home" said Derv "A lot of other Dracons here treat as as satanic demons"

you guys are married? interesting" ilsa said ' see if a man marries a man or a woman marries a woman in dracon lands they are killed. otherwise well i would have married Minna here some time ago. but we're not allowed to,obviously, otherwise our heads would be o the chopping block, literally. so you were headed back home when those bandits attacks.. i'll bet you some gold they were set to kill you '

"They were, we've been actively hunted by bandits. I know the Kings are behind this, they just can't openly attack us because our clans would wage war on the Kings" he told her

"If you believe a group of Clans can defeat Dracon armies you are foolish." scoffed Lura

"Oh?" said Derv "How immune are Dracons to poison, how many injuries are fatal?" he asked, knowing the answer

Lura growled, folding her arms

we'll help you get home. minna promised
now lets salvage what we can from the caravans and head out. while its not really noble we'll pick clean the dead bandits and take what they were carrying

With a nod, they began searching, managing to get enough money from the dead bandits for a weeks worth of decent food. Jake combined the useless weapons into his arm, making it harder for him to walk, but they could sell the weapons off for more money once in a town or city.

the girls salvages a few potions and books to read, and magically coveredted all the unborned wood into a wagon, wwith whells o it the wheels turned as you walked so two of the group would sit at the front and walk while the rest of them rested inside.

Taking turns for the night, they soon stopped for rest and food. Jake offering some to the newcomers. "Here, take this" he said, passing some stale bread and dried meats

"Thank you" said Derv, accepting it

"Appreciated" commented Tura

minna brought out the blankets and what passed as pillows. the mages wee able to magically slice up the bread into slices, and passed them around. the magic was able to soften the bread somewhat, but the bread was still stale.. ' where the next cloest city to here/ Ilsa asked, looking out over the horizon.

"Well, the closest city is a few days away via caravan, but there's a town we can reach by midday tomorrow if we rest tonight, or we can reach it early morning tonight if we continue" said Tura

so basically you're known each other your whole lives and got married around 18. how sweet. i've known ilsa since we met at school. its been what 7 years or so' she laughed. ' i knew almost at once that she was special. when did you realize you loved each other?

wel it was probably a year after we met ' minna said ' after we had cleared out a ruin we stopped at an oasis and showered together. when she kissed me on the lips i realized that i had found someone special.i.. let her make love to me then, the first of many times. oh how i wish that the dracons were not so extremely harsh on things like this! How I wish we could stay with you and Tura..' she sighed

"It is rather funny, many species seem to believe they have a monopoly on marriage" said Tura "Marriage was an official recognition of lovers... regardless of gender" he added with a sigh "I am quite sure there are many more Dracons with our views that must hate the lies they make to stay alive"

indeed ' ilsa said. ' to be with someone you are with only because you have to. to have a male inside you when you want the soft caress of a female lover., its painful really. but appearances must be maintained for the stake of status..
