The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

She is very pretty and cute indeed.  Do you have much information decided about her? I'm sure everyone here would be interested in hearing.

Hello:
 She looks amazing, I guess that kind of Sharptooth was one of the most welcomed new sights from the later LBT sequels, and I think did a great job, because I don't think it is too easy to make someone of a race that are seen as antagonists to look this cute. I look forward toknow the background story in your new OC.
 Keep it up!

Thank you guys! I'm really glad you all like her. :lol:

Well, the background is not from me. It's actually a screenshot from one of the movies, only altered. :!

Caustizer
Another desktop picture? :lol
Oh, I love her expression too. The only thing I had a hard time with drawing it. :angel

Lima encouraging Chomper to do sharptooth stuff is quite a good idea, but I guess you have to wait and see. :p

Kor
I do have a few information about her that I still need to work on. :)

No hurry, was just curious if you did and if you'd eventually post the info.

Lima looks fantastic! What did I tell ya? The jagged sail looks much better! :p Nice colors, too; a little lighter and bluer than Chomper’s, and different from DarkWolf91’s drawing of a Spinosaurus character. I also love the eye color you gave her; it’s distinct from the other characters’, and it goes well with her body coloration.

I would still suggest making her claws a bit sharper, and maybe increasing the length of her tail slightly (It could be just the angle that causes it to look a tad short in this picture :unsure). Also, her neck looks possibly a little too smooth; it had more creases and lumps in the original drawing, which gave it a more natural look there, I thought. Apart from those details, there’s not a lot of improvement I can suggest.

As for Lima’s personality, I had the impression that she would be almost like a sharptooth version of Ali; shy, playful, quick to befriend Chomper, but uncomfortable with the idea of having leafeater friends. (I didn’t even imagine her as conflicting with Ruby. :blink:) She also strikes me as being a little younger than Chomper.

Speaking of Chomper, I think he’s the one remaining character who might benefit from getting another concept drawing. All the other characters, including the ones you recently re-tooled, look terrific, and don’t need any more major alteration. However, if you weren’t already planning on taking another shot at drawing an older Chomper, I’d encourage it. The main changes I would make to the original would be a slightly more adult-proportioned head and tail, a more mature-looking face, and possibly (an idea I just came up with  that you can easily ignore) showing the spiny ridge on his back developing into the lower, smoother row of bumps seen on an adult sharptooth.

Just curious: What scene in what movie is that screenshot you used for the background from? It looks nice the way you altered it. :yes

Thanks again, Pangaea, for coming up with some names for her.  :)
I'm honored to have been helpful (I honestly didn't expect that you would like my suggestions so much :wow). By the way, do you imagine Lima’s name as being pronounced “Lee-ma” or “Ly-ma”? I was thinking the first one when I suggested the name, but since I don’t know the exact pronunciation of the scientific name I derived it from, I suppose it could go either way.

Pronounced "pan-JEE-uh". Spelled with three A's. Represented by a Lystrosaurus.

If I remember correctly, the screenshot is from the 12th movie before Guido's first appearance. :)

"Lee-ma". :^.^:

It's done! Well... at least the sketch. :p
This is what I wanted to submit to pokeplayer's contest. I could barely start working on it due to unexpected circumstances:

The title of this pic is called 'One Longneck Family'. :^.^:
It would look much better when colored but I'm currently taking a little break from LBT artworks so I can work on other stuff.  :p
Sheesh, I hate to work under pressure... D:

EDIT: Fixed Granpa Longnecks colors (thanks for pointing out DarkHououmon). :)

Wow! I wish I was that good of a drawer! I can't even draw any longnecks right other than Ali.

Thats a pretty good picture.  It certainly is inspiring and well constucted to include Littlefoots entire family.  One thing I am somewhat surprised about is that you didn't include Shorty, even though he is Littlefoot's brother from another mother.  :lol

It's so good in fact that Im declining to vote in the GOF art competition because it is being not allowed.

That’s a REALLY good art piece. :wow :blink: :! :o It’s a shame you couldn’t finish it in time, because I feel like it really embodies the spirit of the Land Before Time series.

The style reminds me a lot of your Dawn of a Wingtail comic. It never ceases to amaze me how much detail you go into when drawing rock. :o

I don’t think I noticed until the second time I looked at it that Littlefoot’s mother was there as a cloud. That was a brilliant addition. :yes :DD To be honest I prefer the softer-edged cloud form she had in the original movie to the “notchy” outline she has here, though I imagine it’s harder to draw realistically wispy or puffy clouds using a pen.

I’m afraid I can’t come up with much to say about Littlefoot and Bron, :oops except that Littlefoot’s eyes look a bit too small in my opinion.

My favorite specific aspect of this drawing may be Littlefoot’s grandparents. The detail on them is incredible, and their expressions are so perfect. :DD I also love how you differentiated them from one another. It’s not just the colors and Grandma Longneck’s eyelashes; you managed to give both of them subtly distinct features, such as the wrinkles around their mouths, the shapes of their faces and heads, even the bags under their eyes. By the way, I notice that Grandpa’s ears are much closer to his eyes than Grandma’s, and the folds on the back of his neck start much sooner. Did you deliberately draw those particular characteristics so differently?

I’m eager to see this picture colored. :yes

I'm taking that as a compliment. :lol

The colored version will have much softer clouds. ;)

Besides their head shapes, all the other characteristics are just plain coincidence. I didn't notice until now. :wow

~~~
And now something new for your viewing pleasure:
I guess I just like them too much. :^.^: I tried working on more animation. :yes Though it's a simple one, it wasn't very easy to keep it smooth with the lineart and shading. It took me some days... >_<
Thehe... it was supposed to be a new avatar but it's file size surpassed the limit of 25KB... so no new avatar.  :p
Enjoy! :wub
I'm glad your stepping into animation now... its a further theatre for your artistic talents.
As far as this goes, it's very cute and the movement is pretty clean.  I've noticed that you've become a lot more passionate about drawing Sky and Star in their LBT forms lately... maybe it's because of my work?  :smile
Which reminds me... I don't think I've commented on Page 6 yet of your comic have I?  :angel
Wow…I thought that picture was fantastic even before I realized it was animated. :wow And even before I read your comment I thought, “Oh, that would be such a great avatar if it weren’t so big!” Oh well.
I love the animation. Star’s “kiss” came as a surprise to me, because I wasn’t expecting that there would be much more movement from the characters besides blinking. While they still aren’t moving that much, the animation is very smooth and looks great.
By the way, I like it that you had Star lick Sky’s face rather than give him a human-style kiss; it seems like a much more realistic way for dinosaurs to express affection (not to mention regular kissing would be difficult with beaks :p). I also think it’s clever that the heart is pink on Star’s side of the picture, but changes to blue on Sky’s side.
You should definitely keep doing animated pictures. You’re very good at it. :yes
Uhm no, I don't think you have. ;)
As for pictures, I have something new (well, not really :p)
Just finished coloring the sketch before school really starts getting serious. ;)
Enjoy!  :)
That is a great picture.  It does look like it's a screenshot from one of the LBT movies or tv episodes.  Great work.
I color with Photoshop.  ;)
Photoshop? I have GIMP, but the best thing I've made is this. It did come out good, but it dosen't look like a screenshot, or dose photoshop use a different style than GIMP 2.6?
