The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Quoting whole messages

Of lately there have been some cases in which members introduced their posts by quoting the entire previous post even though it had no real relevance to the content of the new message.
Of course this doesn't do any real harm, but it may be kind of confusing or even annoying to some.
So please don't quote arbitrarily. Think about whether or not a quote from the previous message is important to make your own message more understandable. Also if you quote another message consider if it is necessary to quote the entire message or if the part you mean to refer to is included only in a sentence or a few.  :)

It also makes the page longer.  I have my mouse set to 6 lines per scroll just for GOF.  There's just a lot of data and I dont wanna spend 5 minutes getting to the bottom or top of the page. :)

Sounds reasonable....I usually don't quote the post and the post previous to the post I'm referring to. :p
