The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

What was your first game?

My first computer game was "adventure mountain".  It was an old MS-DOS game that I installed with those 5 1/2'' floppy disks. :lol It took 12 of those suckers! :wow

The first game I ever OWNED was (this is showing some age here  :P: ), a Sega Megadrive game called "Altered Beast". Unlike the majority of the flock it seems, I was on Sega's side of the 90's console war so I was subjected to their line of games moreso. Altered Beast was apparently remade for ps2 later but, as with most ressurected greats, it flopped.

As for first ever played? I couldn't tell you. I was far more interested in the flashy lights and bangy noises the games made than what the names of the games were!  :lol

I never had a game console as I was usually happy with the computer games. The first which I remember was Sid Meier's Civilization. Did anyone else play that classic?

My first ever game...I honestly don't know. When I was old enough we already had a few games around, so I got into them all at the smae time. My first console gmae though was Crash Team Racing.

Malte, I have played Sid Meier's Pirates fairly recently, but not Civilisation.

^ I used to play the predecessor of that one, "Pirate's Gold". It is a funny example that computer games may teach something. I accredit most of my knowledge about the names and locations of Carribbean islands to that game :lol

Let's see...

First games played:  Original Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt (I was a horrible shot then... <_< )

First game owned:  Tekken 3.  That was when we got our first console (which was later fired by a lightning strike).

Now the family has at least 1 PS1, 2 PS2, 1 GB Color, 2 GBA, 1 GameCube, 2 Nintendo DS, and PC games on all of our computers.

My first game was, of course, Super Mario Brothers. I played that game so much as a kid that I didn't stop for bathroom breaks. XD Yeah, kind of a funny story. My mom had to pretend that it was broken in order to get me to stop playing the game. Of course, that's what got me started as a Nintendo fan.

Bump. I know this might be frowned upon, but there are a lot of new users here with their "first games" stories to tell.
