"This devices might come in handy if the aliens beome hostile against us... I do hold another of those energy blades but it needs someone else to hold it... so if the time comes Guan I will put one of those devices on you if you want me to... because they don't use weapons that fire they use close combat weapons, sharp metal blades that can cut through anything even bone" Sten said not liking the idea getting a child involded in a conflict but sounding the only way if that happened.

"It might not even come to it when we arrive at this island" Sten said with a smile "I believe I made a new friend if you like me to be your friend Guan."

Eva looks "We better move in five minutes"

"Should I, Uncle Odon?" asks Guan.

"You will have to wait until you're older, especially if you're going to use such a weapon. And once you do get older, you'll have to be trained to use it as well as the training you're going through now."

"I see," Guan said, a bit disappointed, but then remembers something. "You think a Guardian will train me?"

"Perhaps. Archer may not be the one who can do that, but maybe another Guardian might have the skills to teach you, if Sten can't stay long enough to do it."

Sten smirked "Maybe I could change my mind. I don't earn much of living, travel planet to planet a bit too much. Would like to stay in one spot for once" Sten said to Odon

Grandpa looks at Sten. "You are welcome to stay here in the Great Valley if you like. Right now, we have an island to get to."

"We'll be staying here to help Archer," Odon says. "just in case the invaders from above decides to enter the Valley. Because the Guardian uses magic and the invaders are immune to magic, he'll need all the help he can get."

Guan looks around to see where Archer had gone.

Eva listens to Stripetail and goes through her data banks in the comptuers onboard the ship storing the story in her data banks "Interesting concept to currency..." Eva spoke to herself quietly.

"the crystal embedded in my staff is rose-colored, which was the color of the highest rank in the abbey, and only a extreme few ever attained that rank. Nearly all high-ranking sorcerers were given red crystals, one , two or three depending on thier rank. But Darius was nowhere near as powerful as his grandfather. He only attained Brown status, which was a middle rank, and he was a constant embarrassment to his family. He retained the pretensions of a great wizard, and was very arrogant and unkind to creatures he considered inferior to him in status."

Meanwhile, back at the Valley, Archer continues to watch the stars as Guan and Odon walk over and lay down at the river bank.

Archer looks over at Odon. "So who left?" he asked.

"Stripetail, Eva, the human, and the Dinoton," Odon replied, "plus the whole longneck herd, all our visitors from the Mysterious Beyond earlier today, and I think Threehorn and the other kids."

"Do the families of Ducky, Spike, and Petrie know about this?"

"I'm not sure. If not, we'll tell them if they ask. With how far the group traveled so far, chances are that they can't catch up with the group before the storm."

Archer nods once and looks back up to the stars in silence...
