The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

'Yes, along with many other students. The Abbey was attacked in the fall, we had completed our final year. Among the attackers were a scattering of students who either had been expelled or had turned traitor. We Managed to repulse the attack, and I led the counteroffensive. We Drove them out of the abbey, but with a high casuality rate. Darius was captured fighting alongside the invaders, and Snowpaw was injured in the fighting. We took her to the hospital building, but because of the numerous patients, it took awhile for us to tend to her. When a magic creature is seriously injured, thier powers begin to fade, and ordinary diseases can kill them. In addition the building had been damaged during the fighting and healing supplies were low, so we saved them for those creatures who had a chance of surviving.  I was tired from the battle, otherwise I could have helped more creatures than I was able to. " Stripetail stopped.

"I am so sorry to hear that..." Eva looks at him "My creator... was killed in a fire he risked his life to save my program sending me to the data systems of Tri-Foundation Alliance. So that maybe why I am partly different to those other AIs... one of a kind"

Well, Once we had secured the Abbey and captured the last of the invaders, we turned towards recovery. We had lost many younger students, which affected the abbey later as the remaining students  grew older. Snowpaw slowly faded, and while we did the best we could, she died a couple of weeks later.' Stripetail said heavily.

"Thank you for the kind words Eva. By the time she died, she had become more than a friend to me, and the hurt of losing her was so immense that I was despondent for weeks. I thought many times of bringing her back to life, but the longer a creature has been dead, the more power it takes to revive it. Raising the dead is a Life-task, a task that requires so much of a wizard's power, that it can only be attempted once or twice in a average wizard's lifetime. However, I was not an average wizard, I was the strongest wizard in school, and widely considered(by others , not by myself) as the most powerful wizard in the abbey's history. So I could attempt spells that were beyond the capacity of others. Yet I did not attempt to revive her." Stripetail said.

" Why not ?' Ali asked.

"I have a reason... it not right to revive the dead how ever you love them... am I right?" Eva said to him "How ever hard it is"

No, the problem with reviving the dead is that even if you succeed in bringing them back they will merely live a mortal lifespan, devoid of any powers they used to have. Snowpaw would die again anyway even if I revived her. I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life, in other words forever. It would be a waste of my time and power to constantly revive her, only to have her live 70 more seasons and die again."

Watching the clouds moving closer, Archer could feel the wind starting to pick up, a sign of a pretty nasty storm.  He watches just a little longer, waiting for the storm to hopefully move to the side of the Great Valley...

A scope cross hair looks at Archer for the last for moments with the looker watching his movement "Why is it everytime Sten dissappears on his crossaids that I have to stay behind... I'm a Rapton for crist sacks... action is a meaning to me" he muttered to himself watching Archer with his sniper hyper pulse rifle.

Archer continues to watch the storm as it crawls closer to the Valley, spotting small flashes of lightning and even heard a very low rumble of thunder.  The wind continues to pick up speed, revealing the danger that is coming.  Finally knowing that the storm's not going to turn away, Archer gets up, strapping his bow behind his back, and jogs to warn the inhabitants of the danger.  He soon spots the family of duckbills he knows belongs to Ducky and Spike.  Even though he was known by a few more dinosaurs, he still considers to keep a low profile by passing the message to the few families that know him and then hide in his sanctuary hidden in the Great Wall.

Archer reaches the nest and walks to Sam, who is still sleeping.  "Sam?  Sam wake up.  It's me, Archer."

"There's a storm coming this way, and it looks like a nasty one too."  He looks back over to the rolling clouds, its thunder slowly starting to sound more frequent.

"I'll go pass the message to the spikethumbs and the flyers," Archer said, and then he turns off and runs in another direction, heading towards the cliff where Petrie's family lives.

Thinking about Snowpaw was not something Stripetail liked to do. But talking about his youth had brought the subject of her death up. " Looking back, Eva, I regret not reviving her. One mortal lifetime, while not the eternity I had hoped for, would still have been better than nothing. But Now that I think about it, there WAS a way to reawake the dead and restore thier powers. To Revive the dead you need to release your power into them. An Average wizard will be too weak to restore any of thier powers, not after expending so much power to revive them. The Wizard will need to continue to release his power into the revived creature, until you have more or less restored thier powers. Once they are awake their powers will rapidly restore themselves on thier own, so restoring thier powers is relatively easy. But I was despondent and unable to think clearly at the time, so I did not think of that. I wish I had pulled myself together." Stripetail finished speaking and looking out at the pouring rain.

"That is a shame... what would happen when you make me a living creature? one of your kind?" Eva asked him a question she had no answer to since she had no first hand accounts of magic.

Sten puts a hand on his head "Oh no... I forgot about RipRap..."

" Well You'd become a female squirrell, and all of your memory that is stored in your data banks will be changed into electrical impluses. You will become a creature who has probably a mortal lifespan. Any other questions?"
