The Gang of Five
Howdy, everyone!

As you know, the forum has been fighting spammers and bots for years. We have seen our fair share of "Custom Kitchens UK", scammy Internet hosting companies, and bots trying to send us to a business's homepage. But after fighting the tidal wave of spam for so many years, the admins had a persistent thought: what if the spammers are right? Not in terms of posting nonsense links and trying to scam our users, but in trying to make money through our unique platform?

Well, thanks to the helpful counsel of Taunt, we have finally decided to move the forum in a new direction. Please see his important post on the matter in this topic

Happy 23rd Star Day Lain_EX

Well, thank you so very much! I've got a Diamond version of PokÈmon. I'll send you the Friend code later in my Wi-Fi Connection thread.

BTW, what's all that "starday" thingy?

its LBT wording for 'Birthday'

another one would be 'hatchday', or something like that

Wouldn't hatchday refer to the actual day one was born (or hatched), and star day the anniversary of that day? I can't remember where hatchday was spoken....

In LBT 5.
Cera: "This is like waiting for your hatchday; it never seems to get any closer."
So apparently hatchday may refer to the anniversary of your hatching as well.

Yes. Anyway, it really could go either way, but I still tend to think that hatchday is the day that one is hatched. What we do know is that star day definitely refers to the anniversary that one is hatched, and it wouldn't be logical for them to use two different terms to mean the same thing. Cera's use of the word implies one that can't wait to be hatched out of their egg.

I seriously doubt that Cera would remember waiting in her egg for her hatchday. Same as none of us would remember waiting for our birth. Within the egg she wouldn't even know what hatching is or what lies beyond the shell.
I suppose that there are just two words for the same thing. Hatchday seems the more immediate choice for dinosaurs. The starday suggests some kind of interest in astronomy which suffices for the dinosaurs to have a rather accurate calender.

She probably didn't remember waiting to be hatched. She probably said that with the foreknowledge that it can take awhile for dinosaurs to hatch, not necessarily from her own experience.

I don't know if Cera would think in such an abstract manner. The idea of hatchday being just a dinosaur phrase for birthday (both actual birthday and anniversary of the same) seems a lot more plausible to me.

Well, there's no real way to know what "hatchday" really means, so it's just speculation, anyway. The phrase "star day" might actually be an unintentional retcon on "hatch day."
