I was young then, and he was traveling on the showboat, and we hit it off. two weeks into our relationship I kissed him. But the next week, while he was walking through a town in Missouri he was hit by a car. He survived, but he was paraylzed from the waist down. Our relationship cooled after that. " Dixie said, a tear running down her face.

Nago frowned as he remembered the events that had led up to their relationship.

as the drive continued, some of the group began to nod off. Scooby, Dixie, Strut, cynder and Jummba were still awake.

Strut looked out the window. "So what's first, get fuel or get ammo?" He then turned to Nani. "I never got your name. And I'd recommend a .22 rifle for a first time shooter but since we need stopping power, a .410 shotgun for first time shooter is the next best choice."

Zachary had joined Dr. Kerzach in the kitchen. Several plates of hot stir fry were on the counter.

"Okay. James, we have your pork stir fry. Deimos and Rime we have your beef stir fry. Zach and Mr. Bigmouth we have your vegetable stir fry." Dr. Kerzach said.

"Good. Combat really makes you hungry." Deimos stated.

Zachary nodded. "Speaking of shooting. Hey Nick! Want to join us for some target shooting after dinner? I wonder if the dragons and the mages are up for some target shooting as well?"

"It's about 20 miles from the cafe. It's the same vendor that supplies weapons for Pelvanida employees. As I am a Pelvanida employee, I get a discount and access to some stuff that civilians can't legally own. And you're Dixie, right?" Strut replied.

Cynder sighed. She felt a bit like complaining about how long the trip was taking, but resolved to act her age. Spyro had fallen asleep, leaning against her.

"I could fly up and take a look around," Cynder volunteered, wanting to stretch her legs and wings.

Meanwhile, Wataru had reached his destination, the D & P building which his brother worked in. He was actually the president of the company, having been newly reinstated.

Wataru parked his bike, noting that Taiga's Honda was parked there. His brother had been working late recently. As he entered the building, he wondered if he should invite Taiga to Nago and Megumi's wedding.

"Well, if we're getting close I can wait," Cynder sighed, glancing out the window. "Is it always night around here?"

As Wataru got closer to Taiga's office he heard the unmistakable sounds of a fight. He broke into a run and turned the corner in time to find a beam of red light piercing a fangire's chest. The beam issued from a white weapon, held by a red and black version of Wataru's gold and red form.

Dark Kiva yanked on the weapon, pulling the energy rope taut and causing the fangire to shatter apart, not even leaving behind a soul.

Kivat the Second detached from the black belt and Dark Kiva reverted to Taiga Nobori. "Wataru? What are you doing here?"

"I was coming to ask you for help," Wataru replied, stepping forward.

"Are you having trouble with fangire?" Taiga asked. "Some of them don't like the changes I'm making and are taking the same path that Bishop did."

"No, it's not fangire," Wataru replied.
